I hope this isn't what's going to happen...
The game are attrocious when it's time to represent their own character. If the comic is to do the same....
If my english can look like crap, don't kill me...please? French is my native language!

The SegaSonic cast is already getting more spotlight in the upcoming Sonic universe issues. I absolutely do not believe the comic cast will become Sonic's "Cheering Squad." Ian Flynn would never do that.

Ian said he wouldnt yes but yet the past 2 years begs to differ (plus SEGA could say otherwise)

From the sounds of things, the comic is going to change only in presentation with a few newer elements added in. The series' continuity will still be kept, so no worries about loosing loosing 251 issues worth of backstory (plus spin-off material). Think of it like comparing the "Legend of Zelda" games "Twilight Princess" with "Wind Waker"; they both take place in the same universe (albeit different timelines), but they both have different art styles targeted towards certain audiences.
The only thing that remains debatable is Penders' material. Penders has stated that Archie can still use his characters since the whole lawsuit was dismissed, but from the look of things, they may drop them at any time. Possibly due to fear of future legal issues, or they want to go back to a more simpler presentation. Or maybe, and this is a wild guess, they'll bring them back in a new coat of paint. Who knows?

2 Retcon any Useless Ian Flynn Bitching(Aka The Slap)
The Slap (issue 134) was written by Karl Bollers. Ian didn't even write the second story of that issue. A lot of people blame him for it but he didn't have anything to do with it.

I don't see it. Yes I see the SEGA characters getting more panel time but I haven't seen the Comic Characters getting less. What I've seen a lot of is Ian making his own characters to do things rather than using already existing characters. Now part of this is due to the Penders Lawsuit so it is easier for him to make characters rather than fight over those ones but still.

That's what I keep getting too. Not really a change of the comic but rather a easy way to explain some details without actually changing anything.

I hope they bring them back, new coat of paint or not. Otherwise we'll get a lot more of those Ian Flynn originals which aren't really bad but just don't have the same charm the older ones did.

I didn't think the comics were bad these past 2 years. You gotta admit, it was interesting seeing the freedom fighters fall apart. It just made you want to read more and see what happens. I think the Mecha Sally Arc overstayed it's welcome a little bit, but I think Countdown to Chaos will make up from that

No it wasnt. It was pointless and heartbreaking. Sonic gave up too quickly at first, Silver was making stuff worse and it made me wanna lead less. Mecha Sally overstayed its welcome 4-6 issues into it. C2C better make up for it.
Flynn KNOWS he pissed off a lot of the older fans such as myself and im glad hes attempting to make us come back a bit

If Archie needs a new comic writer... I should work there instead. And put really good stories that no one will ever thought of.
But, I think Archie and Sega won't like it anyways
...
And I think Sonic helping with Mega Man seems kind of pointless to me. What's next? Sonic, and Mega Man meets Mario???! ![]()

That may be so during your first few years as a writer, but suppose you were forced to keep on doing it even longer? You would start to loose steam and everyone would want you out of your position. And if a newer writer takes your place, the same thing happens all over again.
I guess that's the problem with all ongoing series.

That's why many comics have a rotating artist and writer. A story arc is written by one writer and usually drawn by one artist. The next arc is written by another writer and another illustrator draws it. Even SatAM had different Writers for different episodes. I'm not saying it can't be done with one artist/writer, I'm just saying it's why many comics have multiple.

If Ian was to bring back some of the characters Ken Penders introduced, this is a list of characters and conceptsthat they should bring back.
Julie-Su and Lien-Da - Honestly, who doesn't love these characters. Maybe they can be reintroduced in a Sonic Universe arc where Knuckles ventures into the Twilight Zone to save them.
Dimitri, St. John, Hershey Rob' O and his family, - Lots of loose ends to tie up with these characters.
Knux's family
Dr. Finitevus in the form of Enerjak - It would be an awesome final battle between Knuckles and Finitevus.
Elias - If Naugus will be dethroned, who will be king?
Suppression Squad
Saffron Bee
Fiona Fox and Scourge
Dr. Quack
Sonic's Parents
Substitute Freedom Fighters ( Most of the Council of Acorn)
Most of the wolfpack (Including Leeta and Lyco)
- Janus and DrSpecialHell like this

Since you asked....I dislike Julie-Su. I find her just Knuckles as a chick, and as much as Knuckles is in my top three SEGA-Sonic Characters, I find Julie-Su a bad parody. Lien-Da on the other hand is okay.
Dimitri, St. John, Hershey Rob' O and his family, - Lots of loose ends to tie up with these characters.
Dimitri is pretty cool. Hershey is pretty cool. I find Rob'O one of the better underused characters. St. John....being fair I liked to hate this guy. I liked how he had been a rival for Sonic and how he sort of used the bad methods to achieve a greater good. After the Naugus thing though....I lost interest.
Knux's family
Dr. Finitevus in the form of Enerjak - It would be an awesome final battle between Knuckles and Finitevus.
Most definitely on Knux's family. They should come back.
Dr. Finitevus is also a good move. While I don't like his backstory, I do like how he's portrayed.
Elias - If Naugus will be dethroned, who will be king?
Suppression Squad
Saffron Bee
Fiona Fox and Scourge
Dr. Quack
Sonic's Parents
Elias got better over the years. I'd like to see him step up as King again.
The Suppression Squad are pretty good as baddies but I didn't like many of their backstories.
Saffron is ...meh. I see no need for her yet I also see no reason not to have her.
I liked Fiona better as an Anti-Hero Character. Technically being a good guy but using bad methods and stuff. Her being a straight up villain seems a little forced. I think she worked better as Nic's partner.
I think Scourge is a wasted character. At least as Anti-Sonic he made sense. Now he's just another recolored Hedgehog.
Dr. Quack is.....meh again. He's not really needed but at the same time not a bad character.
Sonic's Parents are....meh again. While I like the concept of their existence and how they were tied into why Uncle Chuck had raised Sonic, they don't really provide anything to the story now other than being someone else Sonic worries about.
Substitute Freedom Fighters ( Most of the Council of Acorn)
Most of the wolfpack (Including Leeta and Lyco)
The Subsitute Freedom Fighters are okay, but with the large cast of characters that already exist I can see why they're usually ignored for SEGA characters. None of them really brought anything special to the table, and it seems whenever any of them learn a lesson (Larry Lynx being cured of his Jinx or Hamlin learning to trust other characters) they seem to forget it by the next issue. So if they are to come back I think they should have some fixes to them.
I know many people like the Wolfpack. I however never got into them other than Lupe. It's not that they're bad, it's just I didn't grow attached to them. Can't say more than that.

I Believe that Team Freedom will still be around but will have a different name since the Freedom Fighters are back. I think Amy should lead this team. Think about it, the little girl who has always wanted to be a Freedom Fighter, would be the New Leader of a Freedom Fighter group. But then again, I think SonAmy fans would be pissed....
