Someone by the name of NinjaHaku21 on Tumblr interpreted the variant cover of issue 255. This looks miles better than the variant.

That cover is awesome. I'm still getting used to NICOLE's new look. I had to look at it for an extra second before I realized it was her.

I've check out the new issues of the Sonic Comic since couple of days ago... I'm glad Sally is back to normal... well, mostly ![]()
The SatAM characters may be redesign... but I'll always enjoy the classics for good memories ![]()
I kind of like the redesign of Nicole though

I have the feeling people will grow more and more sick of these designs and it will eventually hit them and they will ask themselves "what were we thinking"?
Personally these looks are barely above glorified stick figures and are only constant reminders of all the FUBAR things that has happened.
A petition to keep up to a third of the characters in the sonic comics from being lost forever.

To those who want to give this "new direction" a chance, don't say I didn't warn you.

For once, I agree with you Louis; they -do- have a "glorified stick figure" look to them.

Yeah, but it's no where as awesome as your new avatar, Red. ![]()

I wonder if Snively is coming back, and if he's getting a redesign?

I wonder if Snively is coming back, and if he's getting a redesign?
Some people suspect Snively may be the "surprise returning character" mentioned in issue #254's description, especially since Ian confirmed the character to be a "SatAM-er" as he called it. Other possible characters include Dulcy, Lupe, and even Nate Mogan (considering he was originally planned to appear in SatAM).
Even if Snively isn't the returning character, I doubt he'll be dropped from the comics completely. Amongst all the SatAM characters, Snively is one of the most well-recepted. Even SegaSonic fans like the character.
If there's anything about him they'll change in the comics, it'll probably be his relation to Robotnik/Eggman considering Sega's stupid mandate on excluding official characters' family relations. But if Uncle Chuck can still appear in the series, what's to stop Robotnik's lacky from returning?

I don't see the appeal in Ant's redesign. While I'm iffy about all of them, they at least added on something to the other Freedom Fighters in terms of attire so some part of it is fresh. For Ant they've just taken stuff away and streamlined it to be more bland. If they took away anymore he'd just be a lanky Tails.
I wish they'd get that making characters fit to a new style isn't the same as making them look more generic and unoriginal.

Characters who don't need Redesigns:
Game cast
Human Cast
Snivley
Mina Mongoose
Bow Sparrow
Alan Quail
Downuda Freedom Fighters
Guntiver the Arctic Fox
Dr. Finitevus
Lightning Lynx
Flying Frog
Predator Hawk
Fiona Fox (If they can still use her)
Scourge the Hedgehog
Iron Queen
Battle Bird Armada
Thrash the Devil Dog
For the ones who do:
Males: Less clothing with shoes and gloves.
Female: Clothing that covers private areas and with shoes and gloves.
Humans: Fully clothed, no need for gloves.

Speaking of Antonie, there's a reason why his redesign irks me. The double standard. For several years, anti-SatAM fans have complained about Sally being naked and requiring some type of attire to cover her up. So FINALLY, when this day happens, Sally gets fully clothed while Antonie is literally stripped naked and yet nobody has a problem with that? And yes, the overall designs are generic, bland and unappealing. Just like Sega's typical template.

I doubt there have been too many complaints about this. Probably just a small vocal minority at most. I believe her sexualized appearance (which has been a problem now and then ever since artists like Pat Spaziante got ahold of her) is more of a concern than nudity per se.For several years, anti-SatAM fans have complained about Sally being naked and requiring some type of attire to cover her up.
Because Antoine doesn't look sexualized. And thank God for that, really. So FINALLY, when this day happens, Sally gets fully clothed while Antonie is literally stripped naked and yet nobody has a problem with that?
