When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

I'm not really sure where i can put this topic, so i'm gonna do it here.

I got an idea yesterday, about a modding project for Sonic 4 Episode 2 for PC. But i'm not sure if this game is easy to mod or not. But before i explain what i have in mind, i'll do a little introduction.

Did anyone had ever heard of a certain guy named Mike Nichols? He's a huge Star Wars fan and after he saw the 1999 atrocity that was Star Wars Episode 1, he decide to start a project. His intention was to edit the movie, cut some scene and if possible, change some dialogue. To make it simple, remove the crap and enhance the good stuff. In other word, take something not great and make it good (within the limit of what can be done, of course). His work didn't go overlook. His project gather so much attention, that a movement based on ''fan editing'' was born. Now, there's a site dedicated to that: www.fanedit.org .

All of that bring me to my next point, why not do the same thing, but this time about video game? Take a game that leave to be desire, fix the issue and correct all mistake and in result to came up with a fun and good game. When Nichols make his ''Star Wars 1 the Phantom Edit'' (well, this is how he called his version of the movie), he make this to make a ''good edition'' of the episode 1 and i want to do the same with Sonic 4 Episode 2.

This is why i'm here and i want to ask if anyone is interest and want to help me in this.

When Dimps made S4E2, they said they're gonna fix the physic, which they did....but what about the level design? What about the music, the gameplay mechanic or the story? What i ask is not make a another game based of Sonic 4. It's not a total conversion, this is just fixing the issue to make this game great. I want to make the TRUE Sonic 4, as we imagine it. Of course i could simply look at some entirely fan-made game, like Sonic Classic (which is very cool btw), but it's not a official game. Of course a project like that will simply be a fan-editing, but at least it will be based of a official game.

This is list of thing that should get modified/change/cut/removed/whatever in order to really improved the quality of Sonic 4 Episode 2.

-First off, drop the concept of episode. Just act like if the first episode had never existed and the episode 2 is the entire and only Sonic 4.

-Modified/fix the level design. We need to get rid of these enormous amount of spring and speed booster that are unessecary. The physic was improved, let's used it properly and change the level design to give a good used of momentum gameplay.

-The Sonic & Tails combo attack was gimmicly at best and break the rythm of the game. We should get rid of that. Instead, Sonic and Tails should be select separatly just like in Sonic 2 and 3, each with their own hability.

-Remove all reference to the Little Planet and Sonic CD. The connexion to Sonic CD was not only unnessecary, but didn't work well on a story standpoint. Sonic 4 is the sequel of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, let's make it that way.

-Music, my gosh the freaking music. We really need to improve that. Improve the beat and the sound quality so my ear can stop to bleed when i listen to the music. Also, we should make the music longer and less repetitive.

-Give 2 different ending. One bad and one good (get all the Chaos emerald to get the good ending)

The ''Metal Episode'' can still be here too. But here's what is going to need to change:

-Once again, remove all reference to Sonic CD (including the intro at Little Planet)

-Improve the physic

-Like i said before, we should forget Sonic 4 Episode 1 altogheter. That's why the stage in Episode metal will have to be remade in a way to forget Episode 1 completely. How? Let's change the level design completely and re-created the stage of Sonic 1 (change Splash hill to the original Green Hill, etc). Then, we modify the story and tell the player that Metal Sonic is going through South Island to reach Sonic.

So far, this is pretty much it. It's alot of work, but with all these change, we can make Sonic 4 Episode 2 good. The wasted potential could be used at full capacity and make a TRUE Sonic 4.

I really want to make this (if possible). But i can't do this alone. I'm gonna need back-up for that. You do you guys think about it? Sound's good?...or bad? Let me know...

I think Episode 2 is fine as it is. It's Episode 1 that's in dire need of revision. The physics, graphics, level design, and music are all poor. In episode 2, only the music is poor.

The level design is awful too in Episode 2. The game is very automatic and the spring/speed booster combo are EVERYWHERE! We really need to get rid of that.

The reason why i think we should forget Episode 1 altogether, is because this game as so much issue to fix, it's much easier to simply forget his existence.

Even if they were fine (which they're not), does improving them sound so much like a terrible idea or what?

I don't know a thing about modding, but I do know fans Modded KotOR II The Sith Lords to include cut content and fix numerous issues with the game.  I don't see why the same can't be done for Sonic 4.  Weather or not the Game is fine doesn't matter if the improvement is an improvement.  I say go for it.

OYÉ OYÉ, Open message for anyone: Does anyone know how to mod this game (i'm obviously talking about Sonic 4 Episode 2)? Yesterday, i found this:

...Which is great! By looking at youtube, i've found some remix from the music of Episode 2 (not the entire soundtrack, but still). There's still some other thing needed to improved this game quality. So, i'm still looking for other things to add/modify.

Here's the list of what else i need, and help is very appreciate:

-Classic Robotnik Model (the Sonic Generation model of Robotnik will be great)

-New artwork for the title screen and the loading screen (to be replaced with Classic Sonic and Tails artwork instead)

-Tools to removed the unnecessary amount of spring and speed booster

-Tools to removed the unnecessary red coins

-Tools to removed the unnecessary amount of instructions screen (those who are there to remind you of doing Sonic/Tails combo ability)

-Better sound effect

-Tools to decreased the time needed to activated/desactivated the Sonic/Tails combo ability

....Hum, i think it's all for now. I never did any PC mod before (but i did make some hack of Super Mario World though), so it's still new to me and i'm not going to be able to do this alone. I will of course give credit to anyone who could help me in this project (and i'm gonna need to find a place to upload all this).

I found something for the music, i'll put this here so i don't have to look to find this page again:
