That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

I might buy a copy of it. A used copy. So I won't be putting money into Ken's hands.

Wait and download it in cbr files instead. Penders won't get any money that way.

I was doing that with the Sea3on comic. But after the end of the second chapter, i had to end because it eat too much ink, too much paper and it's pretty pricey to do so...

(ink is fucking expensive)

That's why I don't do it that way. :P

 

Also, the quality wouldn't be nearly as good. I believe a comic book usually uses at least 300 dpi for the line art.

That's how I was reading it. Not sure how this goes in either party's interests, although I really don't know much about law, so perhaps that's just my legal illiteracy *shrugs*

 

ETA: Except that, having read the rest of this thread, it looks like Penders is going to do what he set out to do and make his comic. I'll be interested to hear how this pans out in future months...

Essentially what this means is that nobody is awarded any money, and Penders was not in violation of copyright.  I'm not 100 percent sure if this decision invalidates all copyrights that Archie claims to have on those characters though.  But the fact that Penders is moving forward with his plans for them does lend weight to that effect.

I hoping this mayhap will force Archie and Flynn back to "genesis," (sorry for the pun), so to speak. Maybe in the end a culling of bloated cast would be the best thing; maybe they'll go back to a SATAM-centric story. (Yeah I know I'm dreaming).

 

Now that I think about it, I'm wondering if "Worlds Collide" wasn't put where it was on purpose as a stop-gap until the court proceedings ended; who knows?

 

Again, I am really thankful that Season 3 exists, with none of this legal crap or meddling from Sega or other entities! You guys rock!

Eh, we all knew Penders is going to go ahead with his fan fiction story.  When he puts actual resouces into something that has more than likely possiblity of failing, maybe he'll finally get he won nothing in the end.

You know...I think BioWare wanted to make Sonic Chronicles Based on the Comics.  There are TONS of similarities.  I think that was their plan and SEGA was all like "We don't want the Mediums to merge" so BioWare made them "similar" because they couldn't use the Comic's characters.
