@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

So I was reading this article about a girl who was bullying another based on what she wore. In response, her (the bully's) (step)mother bought some thrift store clothes and made her wear it as punishment. It has since gone viral on the Internet. Now, people are coming forth and saying that this public shaming is going to hurt the bully more in the long run than the girl she was bullying.

I don't know about you, but having been bullied most of my life, a good public shaming never hurt anyone in my opinion. She should take this as a learning experience and enjoy her heaping share of humble pie. And hurt her feelings more? F that. She should've considered that before bullying another human being.

I say good on that mother. A rather fitting "let the punishment fit the crime" moment if I ever saw one. Hammurabi would be very pleased.

Doubt we'll find too many people here who feel the least bit sorry for the bully.

I honestly think a lot of people have no idea what it's like to be bullied. They've forgotten, or just never were. It's the only explanation I can think of for some of the behavior I've seen. (Sometimes the victim gets punished harder than the bully!)

I remember the old saying about if you ignore the Bully they'll go away or that you should tell someone.

Unless the adults actually did anything it didn't help. Ignoring them just said you weren't going to do something about it, and if you told on them and the adults didn't do anything the bullying just got worse.

I'm glad to see the stepmom is doing something about it.

And honestly a big deal over thrift store clothes? Really? Parents can shop at whatever store they want for their kids.

I like how i solve my problems: A punch between the eyes... no one bullied me afterwards in middle school
Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

In my middle school that would be grounds for suspension. Even if it was self-defense, most likely you'd just both get suspended.

You clearly have no idea how my towns school system worked. to sum it up: They could give a rats ass.

I got in-house twice but it was worth it

Now THAT'S parenting! LOL man, i know that's her stepmom, but that's what her real mom shoulda did, or her dad. I'd do the same thing and punish my daughter with that, except my daughter doesn't bully anyone around. Yea, she may have the physique of one...11 years old, 5'5", chubby, strong build...but i taught her well not to bully anyone or to have anyone bully her. Kids who bully are an example of bad parenting. That step mom did a good job, kudos to her

I honestly think a lot of people have no idea what it's like to be bullied. They've forgotten, or just never were.

I still remember getting bullied in school back then...it was no picnic. Some people made fun of my Sonic obsession, the clothes i wore at school were dingy and getting small cause my mom would spent money on booze and heroine instead, and the fact i had severe ADD too. I have slight ADD now as an adult. But i didn't do shit about it when i was a kid. So i made sure i taught Aaliyah to be respectful of who and what other ppl are, and if there's any problems to stand up for herself. Cause i don't wanna get a phone call from her school saying she beat a kid bloody for no reason. Or that she got beat up bloody cause she backed down

An very rare photo of the late singer Aaliyah next to a statue of Sonic...

Now that is "One In A Million!"

Speaking of self-defense in schools, I think we should spin that off into another thread. When I was a kid in elementary school (kindergarten in 1987 till sixth grade in 1994-95), I was friends with the principal. He knew of my plight and the torment I went through and was someone I could confide in. Needless to say, when push came to shove (literally), I was recognized as being justified in my stance. Come middle school, the idea of "zero tolerance" came about and it all just went downhill from there; luckily, I had established a reputation that I wasn't going to take that shit anymore so it wasn't as bad as it had been, but there were still times that, given the right opportunity, I would've dragged a few people out and dunk a 55-gallon drum of whupass on them. Most of my altercations up until high school were verbal; afterwards, people finally left me the hell alone.

Well considering how i am a 3rd Degree Black Belt wit the American Taekwondo Association (ATA) (Well i was a 1st degree at that time when i punched the kid) i gave everyone fair warning. And one time in 7th grade some kid swung at me. I grabbed his arm, dropped him on the floor and gave him a armbar combined with a Chris Benoit Crossface

I went to a different High School than my town's high school and i became more respected over there. Hell thats where i became the go to guy to help solve peoples problems
