Citing "sources familiar with the system," Polygon reports that the Xbox One will not require a fee to play used games. Instead, the console will perform regular online checks to verify disc authenticity and ownership.
Polygon's sources note that used game sales will continue, as Xbox One game ownership is determined by an on-disc encryption code. Once a game has been sold, traded, or otherwise activated by another console, access to the previous owner's installed content is revoked and transferred to its new owner.
Microsoft's Major Nelson addressed recent speculation regarding the upcoming console's ability to play used games in a statement released earlier today. "Xbox One is designed to support the trade in and resale of games," Major Nelson said. "Reports about our policies for trade in and resale are inaccurate and incomplete. We will disclose more information in the near future."
Well okay, so you can play used games, but still I see serveral ways that the xbox one's copy protection can come back to bite you. What if someone walks into your house, steals your games, then installs them on their xbox one? If what I understand is true, nothing, your screwed. Your installed game is deactivated and you lose ownership, not to mention the bigger issue of needing an internet connection. I've already talked to some of my co-workers and I know of one co-worker who plays her sister in COD on the 360 and don't connect it to the internet.

That's good news then, but i'm still concerned for friends of mine that don't have an internet connection. At least now I don't necessarily see Microsoft as being quite so money hungry. As far as some of the other comments about extraneous and unneeded extensions like the Kinect 2.0. I personally feel these things can only add to the overall experience. I'll still be reserving complete judgement until the console is actually in consumer hands and can be compared to the rest of the market. But either way, this information is helpful to my decision making. That always on thing doesn't worry me, I leave my laptop on all the time. And for people saying things like "Microsoft is going to be spying on you!!!11!onesause!!!@@!21!" I have this to reply with. If Bill Gates wanted eyes into your home, he'd have them. Somehow I don't think I have anything interesting to show Microsoft, unless they want to watch me play Halo in my underwear at 3:00am. Case Closed. I'm looking forward to seeing how Microsoft addresses fans concerns in the coming months. Given their responses, they could either drive people away from the console, or alleviate some consumers' worries and improve sales. I know my decision isn't quite made yet...
You don't know much about policital bullshit, do you? I don't exactly remember which company exactly, i think it was Panasonic, was working with a deal to make new TV with built-in camera in the near future for ''National Security Purpose''. I don't know the result of that deal, but of course the official media never talk about those thing. You may think it's ridiculous, that the goverment would never allow that to happen....you may be surprise. We are now to a point when the craziest conspiration could possibly be true. After all, the democracy is dead in the US anyway...
So, what i mean is, if you think the goverment wouldn't possibly spy on you...beware, you might be surprise! Just look at the ''patriotic act'', 'nuff said...
As for the ''additionnal experience'' the Kinect could offer, what are they? Frustration? Un-working control? Calibrating issue? Remember the so-called ''HARDCORE GAMES'' for the Kinect? Steal Batallion: Heavy Armor or Sonic Free Rider. We know for a fact that these game are not good with any motion control. What good it would be this time? Unless you want to play some more Wii Sport HD, oops, i mean Kinect Sport 3 (or 4 or whatever), or other casual party game, then the Kinect 2 will be right there for ya.

That's the problem though. I don't really NEED a high priced system that can do all that.
Same here... and I already have too many Micro$oft products in my house -.-

The used game "fee" is handled by the store that it gets sold too but the store cant mark up the price to cover it (So if a used game would normally cost $20, for the Xbox One the store HAS to sell it at $20.)
As i said: Wait until E3 to decide (Though i'm already gonna get one Next year cause you NEVER get a console on release date- let them iron out hte bugs)

I also think we should all just build our own gaming PC's for the same price as these consoles and go HAM on the indie section. There are thousands of fan and free games that are freaking awesome and aren't extremely spec-consuming. Screw Exclusivity and all those other services that each charges for, we can get applications on PC that do those things for free. Not to mention emulation of previous consoles. No backwards compatability issues, we can play AND save our games without needing a certain memory card or format. Then the whole thing about netflix applications and updates, unwieldy browsers and firmware updates will be behind us. PC gaming isn't perfect, but neither is console gaming. Keep that in mind.
For those of you wanting to play on your family TV, I can guarantee you that a new PC will have an HDMI out. My STOCK bought PC from 5 years ago (which is still the one I use now) has HDMI out, and I can watch Netflix in 1080p. There are also multiple attatchments and dongles you can use to connect an old controller (whether it be NES to Xbox360) and use them to play the games. Not only that, you can customize the controls for each game instead of having preset controls (if you're used to Call of Duty and you switch to Halo, the controls aren't exactly pinpoint. You can map your own controls for each game and save them as presets!). There's also a thing called a keyboard and mouse. You use them everyday for work or school or something else, I can bet you are able to adjust. Best part? They don't care about used game sales. You have multiple resources for your games, whether it be the thousands of online indie games, the dedicated online game distributors like steam or getting physical copies of the games from a store, it works.
And that's my rant for PC.

Before someone tries to tell me about happenings in my own country. I'm fully aware of the provisions of the Patriot Act, and how it shits all over the Bill of Rights. All I was saying was that if Microsoft wanted to look into your house, they would have years ago via all the webcams already installed on your laptops and such. In my case, they wouldn't find anything particularly interesting going on. The Kinect 2.0 comes bundled with the system, so the hate's getting you nowhere there. From the looks of things, they've improved the functionality of it greatly, so i'm not going to damn it until I see it for myself. The other features of Xbox One, while not entirely necessary, are neat as far as i'm concerned. And as far as games goes, 15 launch titles, 8 of them original IP. All of that's going down at E3 later this summer. I'm not counting my chickens, just saying Xbox fans should watch closely before damning anything. And again, let's avoid calling each other ignorant eh?
It's not a reason to push it any further. Beside, just remind you that the US goverment don't need any reason to capture any citizen. Just look at the prison of guantanamo....or the American terrorist attack (drone strike). What i mean is even if you're just an average citizen who have done nothing wrong, you could still end up in prison without a trial and rot here until your dead, because this is how ''democracy'' work in the US.
Still, what the Kinect 2 will do more than before? More Kinect Sport? More Kinect Adventure? The PS Move was superior to the wiimote, but it doesn't make it any better. I don't see what good the Kinect 2 could provide.
For the 15 game at launch, you should wait before saying any specific number. Sony as annonced a lot of game for the launch of the PS3 during the E3 2005. In the end, less than half of the game were avaiable (many of them was delayed, lost as an exclusive or simply cancelled).
I didn't call anyone as being ignorant, i'm just making a point.
