Darn. I just bought a 360 (used) not very long ago. I know, I should have expected this, but in my defense, they did say that it would take longer than this for the next system to come out. But whatever, I'll have quite enough fun with my 360, since there are obviously a lot of games I don't own for it. (Btw, thanks for the heads up on the Kinect. I shall avoid.)

As for the "Xbox One"... It sounds like this could possibly be Microsoft's video game system, if I'm reading the writing on the wall correctly. I could certainly be wrong. I just hope they don't immediately cut support for 360s!

Hey, did anyone notice when Microsoft is going to released that crap? Yup! It's near the end of the year. Why? Well, the answer is obvious: Christmas! I'm pretty sure they are going to rush it for the Holiday season and we will have a console as much reliable as the Xbox 360 at launch in 2005. Remember folks, the Xbox 360 came out the same period of time and we all know the result!

I agree. Not to hate on the 360 but it had a lot of problems when they were first released for being rushed. If Microsoft's release date is based on the Christmas Season and competing with PS4 their doing a lot of things for the wrong reasons.

They said they wont. Same with Sony they wont end PS3 for awhile

Also the Xbox One has been in the works for 2-3 years now. Sony's PS4 has only been in the works for 1-2

As far as it being rushed, just do what I do. Don't ever buy a system when it first comes out. Wait a year or two for other people to buy it, so it's less expensive and some of the bugs are sorted out.

^{After watching the reveal event and seeing everything the Xbox One is capable of, i'm certainly interested in owning one. My major concerns have to do with used games in particular, as well as online connectivity. From what I saw and what I've heard from others more in the know than myself, Xbox One games will require authentication via an access code out of the gate. This doesn't necessarily mean the death of the used market like it seemed. Looking at my recent game purchases (Metal Gear Rising, Injustice, etc...) pretty much everything I've bought has come with some manner of code attached for DLC or the like. I imagine buying used titles for Xbox One to be a similar affair. Let's say you head to your local Gamestop (about a 30 min drive for me) with the expressed intent of buying a used game. You would then pick out your title, and take it to the counter as usual right? The difference here lies in your receipt, which now has a new authentication code for the game you just purchased. If this draws up the price of used games in general by a few bucks, i'm willing to live with it. Like most gamers I know, I don't generally have a lot of cash when new games and consoles come out. So I buy a lot of my games used. To have Microsoft shit on the used gaming market by completely disallowing the sale of used titles would be a complete deal breaker for me. Now, a few people I know have no internet connectivity and no intention of ever getting it for various reasons. Does this mean they won't have any gaming support on Xbox One? Sources say no, since "always on" doesn't appear to mean "always online". According to information garnered in the days leading up to the reveal, an "always online" console was never even considered by Microsoft. I still worry for my offline gamers as well as my used games. We'll have to see what comes in the months following Xbox One's release whether or not my intrigue will lead to a purchase. Improved Kinect functionality, voice recognition, Skype video chat, the ability to do multiple things without detracting from your gaming experience. These are all good things that interest me in regards to Xbox One. The PS4 reveal by comparison, caused me absolutely no excitement whatsoever. I know I sound like a complete Xbox fanboy, but these are my thoughts. If more light were shed on the used gaming issue, I might feel more comfortable with a purchase. Also, No Backwards Compatibility? That's a bitch man, but I suppose them's the breaks. We'll see as time goes on and people get their hands on the system. I won't be able to afford one till Febuaryish 2014 anyway.}

Yeah I hope microsoft is listening to the internet right now and I hope they do a full 360(see what I did there) on the next system because this is not the right direction for the games industry. If not, at least I'll have my Wii U, PC(with graphics card I just upgraded this past weekend), and soon the PS4.

I love how everone is putting it down. They havent announced any games yet. Wait until E3 for judgement. The PS4 didnt impress me when i first saw it

Well, the PS4 didn't impress me either, but the Xbox One just make me sick. They take the consumer for a bunch of cow-cash machine. This is utterly disgusting! Acting as they do, they take our consumer right away. Adding unnessecary stuff and blocking re-sell market, they litteraly shoot themself in the foot (did anyone saw my video?).

Bullcockery aside, gaming councils can not survive by just offering games anymore. People have moved on to tablets and phones for cheep casual gaming. The average Joe is not going drop $400-600 for a similar experience. Adding things like blu-ray players, motion controls, and whatever else are the only ways to get some interest in their product.

Speaking of PC gaming, i find that odd when people start to scream bloody murder about Microsoft descision that will cost used game market, but no one ever said anything years ago when that issue came up on PC, with the arrival of Steam, then Uplay and Origin. What i mean is people realize this issue when it's finaly too late!
