I like the concept of DLC. But I think DLC should be a add on or expansion. Not something that completes a game. It also should be something done as a bonus. Not something planned out ahead of time.Nintendo: We shall make you Luigi platformer. But we only make it DLC for New Super Mario Bros U.
I hate DLC. It's sad that the only thing they can came up with is just a DLC. Beside, i don't own a Wii U. Not because i don't have the money, but because i don't want one.

There's no need for DLC to even exist. Extension are there to expend a game content. I curse the day when the game console got their hand on a freaking hard drive, which allow the game company to give us downloadable content.

That's bullshit! Why a game should have more content after it's release? Because the game content fail to be entertaining enough as it is? If the developpeur could make more effort in their product and make the maximum of content as they could, they wouldn't have to do DLC to compensate the lack of content. Maybe in the worse case scenario, and they decide to release a DLC for free to make us forgive them for failling to give us enough content.
But the reality isn't here, it's not that the game lack of content that we need to fill, it's just a good way to make more cash. They do DLC just because they can.

At this point, after reading my comment, i'm sure that many of you are thinking: ''Wouah Alex, you really hate DLC!''. In order to prevent you to think that i'm just a ''hater'', i will explain here and now why my hate agaisnt DLC is fully justify. I know that this subject could deserve is own topic, but because i've start here, i will finish it here.
I will start up with a simple question: Are you buying a game to get a game? I know that said like that it sound silly, but let me said it a bit differently: Are you buying a game to get a game or just a part of it?
I've always ask myself: Since when it become okay to pay just a part of a game instead of a full and complete game. For comparaison, if i want to sell you a puzzle of 500 pieces, but the box will only contain 400 pieces, and then i will you make paid again to get 4 pack of 25 pieces each, will you consider it fair?
If you pay to watch a movie, but 20 minutes before the end, i stop the film and ask you to paid an extra to see the rest. Will you consider it okay to do that?
So far, if you're a person with a minimum of logic, you'll likely to said no. But why it is okay to said yes when it's about video game? What could give the video game industry the free-pass to get away with this? But not only this, but to a point when people even defend the sale of DLC!
When the company are telling you that ''it's to enhance the experience and/or content'', it's just pure BULLSHIT! They should put it on the disc right away, not after. If someone dare to tell me that ''what if the company didn't think of adding this content before it was released?'', i would fucking flip out in rage! Why? Because from an industry that make millions of dollars per years, i don't want anyone to tell me that they can't even get their planning right.
I remember the time when you didn't need to created an account on your console in order to play. Just pop the disc in, create a save file in the memory card and play. That's it! No need to download patch to fix issue later, just play a full game right away.
Download patch is also something that i hate. They usualy released a game, then finished/patch it later. For me, if your game is still full of bug or not yet done, that's mean: DON'T FUCKING RELEASED IT! A game should be released once it's FINISHED ONLY! All of this bullshit is now possible thanks to the hard drive for console.
For the DLC, let's see a good exemple of a frachise that love to abuse the sale of DLC: Call of Duty. A CoD game is 69.99 at launch (so let's say 70$). Most of the time, a CoD game will end up with 4 DLC for 15$ each. 15X4=60$ 60 Bucks for the DLC, plus 70$ for the main game, for a total of 130$ for one single complete game. Let's not forget how much these CoD Map Pack don't contain all that much (5 map or something like that).
For a buisness point of view, it's more interesting to get 130$ than 70$. But for the consummer, in order to get the full content, having to pay 130$ every years can be very....pricey! All these content should be in the game in the first place, not separatly. The only reason why the video game company keep doing this, it's because they can get away with this! Why? BECAUSE PEOPLE KEEP BUYING THIS SHIT!
As a consummer, we need a good sense of what is right and what is wrong. If we all stop buying their DLC, they will have to stop because they woudn't make money out of it. also, DLC is not an excuse to make a game longer. Alot of N64, PS1, DC, PS2, GC, Xbox etc game are longer and have more content than some recent released, and all these console don't event have DLC.
In conclusion, when you pay for a game and his DLC, you paid more, for less.

Dude i get your point, all im saying is that certain DLCs are either fan suggested stuff or things that came up after the point of no return in the deveoplement. I know Blood Dragon was an idea after they got most of Far Cry 3 done along with Dragonborn for Skyrim. Hearthfire and Dawnguard were fan ideas for Skyrim. Brave New World and Gods & Kings for Civ V were a combination of Both.
I understand your point with the Map Packs in Call of Duty cause technically your paying $120 total when its all said in done but all im saying is DLC arent all that bad

I agree. Skyrim was great without it. Though im glad they added 2 new skills with Dawnguard (the Vampyre and the Werewolf skill trees)

Sonic Unleashed didn't need to exist in the first place. No, i'm not talking only about the night section, because the day section have their fair share of problem as well (cheap level desing full of dick move, over-emphasise on boosting, etc). This game may have potential in some way, but every time he did something right, it have to fuck it up ten more time elsewhere.
The most recent game i got without DLC was Red Dead Redemption Game of the Year Edition (because the original released have DLC and one expansion).
