@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

I can definitely agree about the song bit. That was a stupid hook for what was otherwise a serviceable show. The reasoning for my assumption is more that the pair of them haven't been mentioned in a single episode to date of the show or Sea3son. I would think that a change like that would have to be handled delicately at best. As I said, I think it can be done, just carefully.

i still think no one major should be added
Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

Adding Sonia and Manic COULD be done, but shouldn't. The only way you could make them work without pissing a lot of the fanbase would be removing the whole sibling hook. If people are interested, I can go more in depth after some thought.

I know Logiteeka already replied to this, but I thought I'd add my personal thoughts as well.

Sonia and Manic being Sonic's siblings wasn't what made them bad IMHO, it was the fact they were royalty, horribly portrayed and sang ear splitting songs that added nothing to the plot. Sonia and Manic if anything compliment Sonic and his speed with Sonia having super strength and Manic flying around on his hoverboard.

If they were portrayed as commoners like Sonic from Satam and actually had more of a well written personality, I think these characters would have been a very good addition to the cast.

I have to wonder what DIC was thinking making Sonia a prissy, spoiled brat who hated to get dirty and Manic being a thief on the side. Both of those traits were so unappealing. Not to mention they paired up Sonia with such a loser in Bartleby for part of the series.

No wonder they are so hated by the Sonic fanbase.

Sonia's problem is she was supposed to be a "lady" yet she dressed very punk. She also sounded like a man trying to do a girl's voice (wonder why....). I figure Sonic Underground wanted a character who could compete/compare with Sally but went about it the wrong way. Now it wasn't bad for her to be a more proper character she just should also look the part. Also since she had both agility and strength she seemed a bit overpowered compared to Manik and Sonic. They never really abused it but still....

Manik's problem is he was unneeded on the team. Sonic was fast, Sonia had strength and some acrobatic skills. Manik.....could steal stuff, which the others told him not to do, leaving him pointless on the team. Now he's not a bad character, he's almost the noble/honorable thief character thing going, he just needed to actually have a skill that he could use that was helpful.

Sonia isn't bad, and Manic was pointless.

i think Manic just needed more development...

Sonia just needed to look more Noble and have a female voice actor

I always thought something good could come of Manik if they characterized him properly. I just didn't see that happening during the show's run. The royalty thing DID rub me the wrong way, as I always thought Sonic worked better as a close friend of the Royal Family. I for one like to think that Sonic's parent's died fighting The Great War, which is referred to but never really explored (great job on that guys). It kinda goes the Archie route of "Sonic's dad and Uncle Chuck fought together in the war and then Chuck becomes a scientist and takes care of Sonic after his dad dies." It would be nice to hear Chuck talk about Sonic's parents in like a flashback or something, a little Sea3son flavor on this concept would be greatly appreciated. I also liked the names Archie used, Jules and Bernice, but understandably distancing yourselves from this use would be acceptable. Anyway, those be my thoughts.

I wonder if Fang the Sniper will be implemented. Not really as a common character, but more of that kind of guy who will show up, throw a wrench in the plan of the FFs or Dr.R, and leave.

Sonic Underground. Ugh.

In my opinion, this show gives Sonic X some competition in adding useless things for no good reason. I do not feel like listing everything I hate on this show, so I'll stick with the, er, "royal family".

One thing I hated off the bat was how fast the family connection was made between the triplets. There's a difference between being family and actually having a family bond. Bonds do not spontaneously burst out of one's ass after a quick conversation. Yet, that's exactly what happened.

Then, there's the ordeal with their mother. The family had to separate in order to not be detected and consequently killed; That makes sense. This was done to avoid endangering the siblings, given their age at the time. After all, hedgehogs are so common in the kingdom that they could easily blend into the populace.(*cough*)

So, why is staying separated still a good idea? They're being hunted down daily. Never mind all the dangerous missions they run. Would the Queen being with them really make things that much worse? She already spawned out of thin air on multiple occasions to help out...

As for characterization... everybody was terrible. I'll just leave it at that.

In my opinion, I like it when a show's cast is diversified. Each character has something unique to present, having their own interesting quirks, and its fun to watch them interact with each other (just like real people).

That's the reason why I like Manic and Sonia's backgrounds: both of them were raised in separate environments and inherited both good and bad traits from their respective homes. Manic is prone to stealing and thievery, but has experienced the suffering that goes on in his world; thus he's sympathetic towards people who's backgrounds are shunned. Sonia is spoiled and snotty, but is now weary of the effects that her aristocratic life has on society and is very compassionate and self-sufficient; preferring to help those in need over her own personal goals.

If Manic and Sonia were to appear in Sea3on, it would add a lot of background to Mobius' society. I mean, we hardly get to see any of it since Robotnik took over. And what about other cities or villages? Just because Robotnik took control of one city doesn't mean he controls the entire planet.

I'd like to see a SatAM version of Fang. That would be pretty cool.

I would like to see Nack/Fang implemented in some way or another. My favorite version of him so far came from Jim Doe, who I used to RP with on a semi regular basis. As far as the Robotnik thing goes, yeah, I think the general consensus was that he had dominion over the vast majority of the planet. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been so difficult for the FFs to put together a network to properly combat Robotnik's regime. Not to mention, Robotnik loses a little of his cache if he's not seen as a tyrannical ruler of an entire planet. It's hard to believe he would amass the kind of power he's seen wielding if he only controlled Robotropolis. That said, it would be interesting to see Sonia and Manik properly characterized and implemented in some way that could be palatable. Thus far, Sea3son has done absolutely nothing to disappoint. And I for one have complete faith that they'll continue to impress.

I have to admit, the idea of other characters being in Sea3ON is kind of a touchy subject. It would make some people happy, but possibly isolate others (depending on the character). Personally, I'd say it's fine to add two, MAYBE 3. But you really don't want to bring in too many characters. Otherwise, this just becomes the same thing as the Archie Comics, where there's so many characters that it's hard to keep track of them all.

I'd say that aside from Knuckles, maybe Tikal and that's probably it. And Tikal shouldn't be an actual main cast member either, but more of a transitional character. The Fic I did awhile back had her in a sort of Obi Wan-type role, where you didn't necessarily see her, but a character (usually Sonic) would hear her voice. She'd say something cryptic (she didn't always talk like that, but there'd almost always be exactly one thing she said to that effect), and the gang would have to figure out what she meant, which was usually something related to solving a problem in that 'episode'. In that way, you didn't see her until toward the end of the story arc, but she was still a character that tended to cause alot of change.
