@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

Well, i could complete my pitch, and actually follow through with my plan to present it to a studio, but the studio could easily ( and most likely ) say no. Who will be blamed then? Me? The studio? A pitch alone guarantees nothing, and that's all I've ever said from the start.

While the idea of reviving SatAM is exciting, the only problem is how it'll fare out today. I mean, continuing the series would please fans of the origonal show, but what about the others? Everyone's familiar with the modern Dr. Eggman nowadays and not the SatAM depiction. The same goes for Sally and the other Freedom Fighters.

If there's to be a revival, it'll have to be modernized; similar to the games themselves. You can still have Sally and the Freedom Fighters, but remodel them to fit the modern setting and depiction since everyone's more acquainted with it. Like maybe Eggman took control of Mobotropolis and turned it into the Scrap Brain/Metropolis Zone from the origonal games, and Knothole village could be a secret hideout in the Great Forest Zone somewhere on South Island.

How does one expect their show revival to be taken seriously when they don't know who even owns the rights to the property?

That's not my job. I have my agent look into it. Last I heard, it was Cookie Jar. I may be wrong.

While I wasn't around back when you tried it the first time, I still don't see why people have their collective noses out of joint over you re-starting SatAM. I mean, if no one is out anything other than getting their hopes dashed then they have nothing to worry about; it's you putting yourself out there with your own resourses. I'm pretty sure that the pitches that get accepted are pretty rare and it is a good idea not to get your hopes up, but hell, I have nothing to lose and can only gain by having one of my favourite shows come back, so you have my support, but again, pardon if I don't get my hopes up too high.

Oh yeah, as far as I know DHX Media took control of Cookie Jar late last year, so they would probably be the company you'd have to be dealing with.

Anyway, best of luck to you.

Yup.

I'd just give Max here a break. Like he said, I have no idea what his life is like, who he is, and all that Jazz.

Besides, i don't really have a reason to FORGIVENESS. You don't really need to be forgiven, do you? I don't see why you would.... You didn't really do anything bad. If anything, it's the fan base that needs your forgiveness.

Ian Flynn on rights: "I know there was some confusion elsewhere concerning rights to SatAM. As it was explained, SEGA owns the intellectual property – the characters and such – but DiC retains the rights to the animation. So you wouldn’t see SEGA reselling SatAM boxsets willy-nilly. Conversely, DiC wouldn’t be able to just up and make a new Sonic cartoon."

http://www.sonicstad...pyright-claims/

Sounds like any official attempt at reviving SatAM wouldn't even require negotiations with DHX (which has whatever rights DIC originally held), just Sega, unless access to the original art assets was needed for whatever reason.

However, even if an official revival actually made it off the ground, it would likely be crippled by the reasons that LogiTeeka alluded to. The Archie comic series is completely smothered in various corporate mandates and attempts to please so many conflicting factions of the Sonic fanbase. I doubt this would fare any better.

I'm of the opinion that the only realistic chance of an animated SatAM continuation actually feeling like SatAM would be if it was a fan-made project, helmed by people that are motivated by a love of the source material rather than profit.

Of course, a few months ago I considered the prospect of Sea3on being decently animated a hopeless pipe dream, yet now I'm eagerly awaiting the July release of the demo. What do I know?

Why not just a new version of SatAM. Keep the same base plot and the same base characters (before Archie's s***ty redesigns) and personalities and go from there

Could also consider pitching the show to be "web only," you know, like some of these television shows that are online only. In any case, it would be nice to see the show rebooted and brought back to life. I always appreciated the darker, more adult-oriented attitude that the series took.

Well, having a web show with a regular schedule would be very expensive, wouldn't it?

I'm happy with the idea of an animated Season 3. It's also internet-only, but it isn't that much of a "show" to need a regular schedule.
