One thing i wanna know is this: How the hell does Eggman get the metal for all of his creations?? I mean just looking at it he must own like every single metal plant in the world. Anyone have any theories??

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

I got one. Sonic actually doesn't spend all that much time in the cities during the game. I figure Eggman just blows one up and takes the scraps for parts.

Eggman is the head of several major industries, including Robotnik Corp. and Eggman Enterprises. Maybe that's where he gets all his funding and materials.

I always figured that he either mined for all the metal or simply recycled some of his robots that Sonic destroyed. Though most likely, since the Sonic series is comprised of video games (among other things), there is no logical answer. It's the same as asking when he and Dr. Wily have time to build all of their robots, or how do bosses get through their trap-filled lairs when there's no easy way through?

Already controled several factories, refineries and cities...I think is the answer you are looking for.
If we take for example places like Oil ocean zone (a big resource of oil for the robots), Chemical Plant or Scap Brain Zone, Metropolis Zone, Sky fortress (factories really big) I think yes...he can get a lot. The idea of recycling broken robots is another possibility, like he did on SA 1, recycling the useless gammas, why not broken robots?

I never thought about that. It would make sense. And seeing how just about every level in the early games usually has Sonic racing through some place that Robotnik completely controls, Robotnik probably owns a vast part of the planet so he never has to worry about running out of resources. Also, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he had robots build some of his fighting robots.

I suspect that Mobius, like Earth, is rich in iron, and that it is also bigger than Earth. Notice that Sonic and co. are meant to be quite short and some incarnations of Robotnik himself are quite short. Maybe that's evidence for a 'big Mobius' theory because the greater gravitational pull of a bigger planet is keeping everyone shorter.
Either that or Robotnik makes his robots with chassis full of holes so that they're more lightweight but also use less metal. And because he generally tries to fight Sonic with a large quantity of robots rather than good quality ones.
