@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Why did I have to become a Sonic fan just when they were fucking up the comic?

You became a Sonic fan around issue #47? :P

I started getting interest in Sonic when they released the FCBD issue in 2011.

I don't want to post this again. Yeah, we all hate Ken Penders, but, there's rumors that that trial between Ken and Archie still going. And the lawsuit is not over yet. So... any rumors that the trial still going?

And if Archie did drop the ball like removing the characters made from Ken, well, it shows that Acrhie Comics what these Sonic fans to pissed Ken off and to blame him, too. Maybe.

Pretty sure the settlement thing means the trial is over. But I don't know if that means negotiations are over.

So how many characters does Ken Penders own? I know about the majority of the Echnidas and Hershey. With the absence of his characters, it might give the original cast a chance to shine (provided that some decent time is given to each of them), but I doubt we'll get that. I guess that the main reasons that I feel bummed about this after reading everyone's arguments is due to the fact that I grew up with this comic, and I am familiar with these characters. Julie-Su, Geoffrey, etc. made the comic different from other Sonic media by the fact that they don't exist in anything else. With them gone, that old spark of originality has vanished. And it gives the impression that the comic is moving even closer to just being an adaptation of the games (which it's been doing for years now). I know it's now Flynn's fault, but I'm just bummed out. Sorry for the long post.

Guys, listen to this, there's this blogger post this message of the new sonic #245:

"Look at it this way guys: The teaser for issue 245 specifically mentions Lien-Da and her Dark Egg Legion, as well as a no-holds barred fight between Knuckles and Thrash. I’m certain the echidnas will be back."

Also, check out this upcoming issue of #245:

http://archiesonic.w...gehog_Issue_245

Maybe Lien-Da and some of the echidnas will come back. Let's just have hope

That was the original solicit, as pointed out in the very wiki page you linked. A lot of this arc has been edited due to these case developments. Julie-Su was originally on 244's cover, for example. While the echidnas might return at some point, even if it's just to give them a better send-off, this isn't evidence for it.

I hope they return somehow. The Echidnas are really important characters. I just can't see the comic not having their entire society in it. Or, I can, but it would be a more dismal world.

who knows?
Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

Yeah, I know. I think It's better if we wait for the new issue to arrived. Like I said before: "You can check them out at the book store, but don't buy them!". It did said "Lien-Da's Dark Egg Legion" anyway... we'll see... don't know if she'll show up.

Let's just see if they appear or not. If not, then Archie Comics is history.

BTW, why the hell did Ken Penders put his characters during the new issues of the Sonic Comics and then he like quit anyway? And that was duing '06 before four years he post a blog that he owns copyright of his characters? That was during in 2010! What the hell man? Trying to feel like working with Archie again just to be all greedy?! Oh well...

I think this topic is over. Archie may take out the characters made from Ken, but like someone said: "There's still hope".

Anyway, here's a special tribute to Ken "Selfish Man" Penders...

I'm all for taking the wait and see approach. I'm certainly no avid reader of the comics any more, but it sucks to read that a big part of my childhood might suddenly be wiped out due to legal posturing. It hurt enough when I first heard that the comics had removed the Brotherhood, but wiping out the Echidnas entirely? Harsh, and hopefully not what's on the near horizon.

It's rough because I, like many here, grew up with the comic series' vision of Knuckles as a character, and whatever one might think about Penders right now I credit him with making Knuckles and the Floating Island into three dimensional, multi-faceted aspects of the series. Sega's own "official" take on Knuckles holds essentially zero appeal to me, so I'd hate to see the comic lose all the trappings of what made Knuckles a very interesting, compelling character to me while growing up, including his relationship with Julie-Su.

It'd be nice if there could be a settlement involving allowing both sides usage of x-number of characters, but if not, well...that'd just suck, is all.

One other thing, though: I think people officially need to stop freaking out about the SatAM cast up and vanishing out of nowhere. From what I've read of the comics in recent times, it seems that Flynn has no intentions of letting them go; if he did, I highly doubt that Mecha Sally would be featured so much, and I also highly doubt he'd have included so many references to the show in a lot of his writings (e.g. Mecha Sally asking Sonic "Where were you when the brains were handed out?").

I could argue plenty about how I feel the comic's vision for those characters, and for the world they live in, is skewed and could be improved, but the characters themselves aren't likely to go anywhere barring a mandate coming down from Sega itself.

Perhaps, Ben.

Maybe someday...hope will be restored.

Maybe someday....the light...the light at the end of the tunnel...will be found.
And then...AND THEN...all will not be lost. (Breaks into tears)

(Oscar Performance)

In all seriousness, I feel that way too Ben.

Like people at that site will give a shit about what's happening in the comic.
'Star Wars' is my story, just like my house is my house. So if I wanna paint my house green, even if everyone else thinks it should be red, guess what? I'm gonna paint it Jar Jar! - George Lucas

"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia
