And if Archie did drop the ball like removing the characters made from Ken, well, it shows that Acrhie Comics what these Sonic fans to pissed Ken off and to blame him, too. Maybe.

"Look at it this way guys: The teaser for issue 245 specifically mentions Lien-Da and her Dark Egg Legion, as well as a no-holds barred fight between Knuckles and Thrash. I’m certain the echidnas will be back."
Also, check out this upcoming issue of #245:

Maybe Lien-Da and some of the echidnas will come back. Let's just have hope

That was the original solicit, as pointed out in the very wiki page you linked. A lot of this arc has been edited due to these case developments. Julie-Su was originally on 244's cover, for example. While the echidnas might return at some point, even if it's just to give them a better send-off, this isn't evidence for it.
Yeah, I know. I think It's better if we wait for the new issue to arrived. Like I said before: "You can check them out at the book store, but don't buy them!".
Let's just see if they appear or not. If not, then Archie Comics is history.
BTW, why the hell did Ken Penders put his characters during the new issues of the Sonic Comics and then he like quit anyway? And that was duing '06 before four years he post a blog that he owns copyright of his characters? That was during in 2010! What the hell man? Trying to feel like working with Archie again just to be all greedy?! Oh well...

Anyway, here's a special tribute to Ken "Selfish Man" Penders...

It's rough because I, like many here, grew up with the comic series' vision of Knuckles as a character, and whatever one might think about Penders right now I credit him with making Knuckles and the Floating Island into three dimensional, multi-faceted aspects of the series. Sega's own "official" take on Knuckles holds essentially zero appeal to me, so I'd hate to see the comic lose all the trappings of what made Knuckles a very interesting, compelling character to me while growing up, including his relationship with Julie-Su.
It'd be nice if there could be a settlement involving allowing both sides usage of x-number of characters, but if not, well...that'd just suck, is all.
One other thing, though: I think people officially need to stop freaking out about the SatAM cast up and vanishing out of nowhere. From what I've read of the comics in recent times, it seems that Flynn has no intentions of letting them go; if he did, I highly doubt that Mecha Sally would be featured so much, and I also highly doubt he'd have included so many references to the show in a lot of his writings (e.g. Mecha Sally asking Sonic "Where were you when the brains were handed out?").
I could argue plenty about how I feel the comic's vision for those characters, and for the world they live in, is skewed and could be improved, but the characters themselves aren't likely to go anywhere barring a mandate coming down from Sega itself.

Maybe someday...hope will be restored.
Maybe someday....the light...the light at the end of the tunnel...will be found.
And then...AND THEN...all will not be lost. (Breaks into tears)

In all seriousness, I feel that way too Ben.

QUICK. POST IT TO CHEEZBURGER!
Like people at that site will give a shit about what's happening in the comic.
"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia
