Yeah I usually don't make that mistake, but then again I don't usually draw Sonic with 4 fingers either =P

I was thinking of it if I had funds available.. But that is during hunting season...And I probably won't have the funds to fly out east. Not saying that all my crew won't go. There is a possibility someone will.

How do the Auditions for Sea3on work?

With the public unveiling of the project on the horizon, I can't help but be concerned once again for the legality of the Kickstarter campaign. A Kickstarter to fund a Final Fantasy VII fan web series was recently shut down after the IP owner took action. How is Sea3on Animated any different, legally speaking?
I'm no legal expert by any means, but a quick look through an article on fair use made the two look the same, though Sea3on Animated would likely be considered more of a transformative work, as it contines a story rather than adapting one.
I know the staff looked into this back when the project was just getting started, but I don't recall anyone posting the details of why the Kickstarter will get off the ground.
I'm not trying to imply the staff doesn't know what it's doing or that the project doesn't deserve to receive funding. Of course I want this to succeed. I just worry, and any explanation to help assuage me would be appreciated.

See Square Enix isnt like Sega and Sonic Team. Sega and Sonic Team love fan made stuff like this while S.E. hates it cause they cant gain $$ off of it

What I'm concerned about is Season 3 possibly crossing with Sega's new Sonic cartoon 'Sonic Boom', that's when they might take action.

Possible but unlikely. People have been making money off Sonic fan projects for a long time (example That's my Sonic 2) and SEGA hasn't said anything. Likely they'll just ignore usWhat I'm concerned about is Season 3 possibly crossing with Sega's new Sonic cartoon 'Sonic Boom', that's when they might take action.

It is a iffy ground I admit. However there are ways around it. Or at least way's to kinda get around it. To be honest we aren't 100% sure we are going to go with a kickstarter, although that is our most fee-sable bet. At least in my opinion.
There are Sonic projects that have made money (fan projects) from kickstarter or self campaigns. Take a recent one called "Not Enough Rings". A comedy comic that recently got 17,000 to create a book.
SEGA from what we can tell are more lax on certain things like this. Or I should say they turn their back to it. We actually have chatted with a few people at SEGA recently. Most notably at comic con in San Diego where we had a good chat with 3 members of their community section. And we were also given tips from them as they offered to "turn their back" in what we were chatting about.
So there are ways to do this. We must just look at our options and what we have been told.

Wait, SEGA themselves told you ways around so they wouldnt care? I cant tell if thats awesome or that they are daring you.
Did they see the preview?
