@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Such an easy question... and you've tried to troll me... maybe it's because...

There are a few different paths we are considering for that. It actually more depends on what happens during the funding situation than anything else.

Im very impressed on how much Sea3on has evolved. I was perfectly satisfied with it being a comic, but adapting it into an actual series is probably the long time goal that FUS has always wanted to accomplished. I recently found out about the animated project today and wanted to extend my support. The comic itself has really been an engaging ride and Im anxious to see how this will all pan out with professional musicians and animators involved. Plus if this is to coincide with the 20th annivesary of SatAM, thats good planning.

I thought you were done with this fandom and were never coming back to it.

Oh wait, you've never been able to stay away.

Bit hard to do that considering I know this guy's history and the fact he lied to a good friend of mine, stealing design work of his.

Prime, Im quite aware of my past and know of the misdeeds that I committed. There's no point in dwelling on irrelevant subject matters for the sake of opening wounds. Chief and I had a private discussion about this and if he and the other admins can move on, I dont see why you cant. The only thing that one can do in a damaged situation like that is learn from the experience. Granted, Ive made numerous proclamations of leaving the fanbase F0R3VERZ, but it was only for a couple days or a couple weeks. Ive been away from fanbases in general for nearly 3 years. A lot can happen within that time frame and fortunately, it did...for the better. I became more focused on my original projects, my career path, and broaden my social life. Retrospectively, my 20s was the worst era of my life. Economic hardship, living with a family that doesn't support your endeavors or choices of lifestyle, watching every aspect of entertainment just crumble; emphasis on Sonic. The fact that Ive been around the online Sonic fanbase since 1994, the early 00s was a decade of question business practices, inept decisions, and embarrassing releases. Add to that to my depression and you get a rage riddled Sonic fan that projected bitterness and negativity everywhere cause he yearned for a time when money wasnt an issue and his childhood franchises werent being bastardized. Its why I became so militant about SatAM. I honestly thought it was the only variation of Sonic that everyone should watch and used to coercion upon Sonic fans that disagreed with me. The movie project was my way to assert my purpose in the fandom and yes, it was an act of attention cause I claimed to be the savior of the SatAM franchise. To be succinct about the whole thing, I was a dick and I sincerely apologize for all the commotion and drama that I inflicted.

And to preface, this is not one of those phony apologies for the intent of weaseling myself back onto a forum I was banned from as I was notorious for. This is a legitimate remorseful act of redemption cause it honestly took me this long to realize that I was a problem. You see, when you're nearly 3 years away from a hostile community, it gave me the opportunity to reflect and analyze why everyone was on my case. I started to view Sonic from an outsiders perspective and came to the realization that I was increasingly overbearing in my posts and videos. It all stemmed to my crippling depression and my actions clouded my judgement cause Sonic evolved into a dangerous obsession where it consumed my life to where it was the only thing I concentrated on. Want to know why I was frequently posting on various Sonic boards on a daily basis? That's the reason.

Call it a revelation, but the time I quit the Sonic Fan Film and left the fanbase was the same time I turned 30. It may have been a cosmic coincidence, but to me it represented growth and transition. And from early 2011-now, my life has dramatically improved. I moved out of my mom's, landed a full time job thats conducive to my talent, paying off my student debt without family assistance, and overall, being independent.

So the question is this. Am I still a fan of Sonic and other franchises still? Of course, but Im not vocal about it nor place it on a high priority list. Some people know that Im a fan of that My Little Pony show, but ironically, I have NEVER posted on any of their forums or anywhere in general. Same applies to music forums. Its not that I dont wanna interact with other people who share my interest, I just fear of repeating history and its a great way to show restraint. The only venues I do post on, are my own private blogs.

As of recent though, Ive noticed that the Sea3on comic has made a jump in quality in terms of its aesthetics, narrative, and creativity. I started reading them again when I discovered an issue that dealt with NICOLE and Ive been very engaged with its story. When I heard that the comic was being adapted into a animated series, it was like that first moment when I joined FUS back in 2000. Ambitious SatAM fans uniting to bring back SatAM in some form or at least getting Season 3 produced. It might be nostalgia talking, but I find it very endearing that FUS is finally accomplishing their original goal. And let me just answer you right now, no, Im not asking if I can contribute. I'm just a quite observer from the sidelines lending my support. Besides, from the videos Ive watched it seems that you guys have a professional team assembled and I look forward to see its progress.

Anyway, this went on longer than I intended. Whether you forgive me or not from my past transgressions is up to you, but being antagonistic on old trivial e-drama isn't going to accomplish anything positive. With that said, I wish everyone involved with Seas3on animated good luck!

I've heard of you in the past, in good and bad. I never knew what info about you could be true or not, so i never care. Maybe those claim about you were undeserve, but without anyone worth of trust in the community, it was impossible to know. But as for me, i tell myself that i can give you a fair chance. I don't know you, so maybe you're a cool guy. So few years ago, when you annonced your Sonic SatAM animated movie, i was interest with this. I tell myself, alot of people are thrashing this movie, but honestly, it look promising. Of course, i was kinda disapoint when the news of cancelation of the project fall. Maybe the movie would have been good, maybe it would suck, who know? The fact that it was never finished make it impossible to know.

I have respect for people who are able to accept their mistake, giving them some credibility and humility. So, respect to you, Richard ;) . I've heard alot before that you've been in this community for many years, so you know more than me about what have happen since. Because i was born in the early '90 (December 1st, 1990, to be exact), i miss the Genesis era and the older game. I grow up with a SNES in the second half of the decade. The first Sonic game that i really get into was Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the Gamecube, so like many people, i'm from the second generation of fan. But later, i have eventualy play the original game in the Sonic Mega Collection, and eventually became a huge fan of the older Sonic game. I really start to learn english in the second half of the 2000 decade, and watch the SatAM tv show near the end of the decade. Now, after all these years of watching SatAM and playing the original game on my Genesis, i feel that i belong more in the original generation of fan, even if i didn't live in life this generation.

So, i know the FUS website since 2008 (or maybe 2009, i'm not sure), but i only joint the forum few month ago. But i can said to you: Welcome back on board ;)

If my english can look like crap, don't kill me...please? French is my native language!
PS: I love bacon. Why? Because i said so...(i also love the Dreamcast)

If people are willing to let my actions roll under the bridge, it would really mean a lot. Its not healthy to continue to harp on someones downfall. Thanks to Encyclopedia Dramatica, I have to live with this eternal scar of the crap I caused in the 00s. But you know what, I learned to cope with it and fighting ED itself is an uphill battle which I can attest from many attempts. As for the movie, Ill be upfront. It would've sucked! I deluded myself to think that it was this masterpiece just cause it featured SatAM characters. I admit that the writing was abysmal and compared to what Im capable today, its an embarrassing piece of literature. The voice actors...were ok, nothing mind blowing spectacular but I knew they did their best and being put in a position of jeopardizing friendships being honestly critical is a difficult crossroad to choose. Plus I don't mean to be offensive, but this is a fact. All the voice actors had some form of autism and the reason I ended up working with them is cause Spax3 recommended them to me. Again, poor decision since I initially knew nothing about this guy. So in fear of hurting feelings, I kept them aboard knowing how bad their delivery was. I cant really defend this project knowing the flaws and back office drama that occurred, but I will say that it gave me experience in directing, producing, and organizing.

After I quit the Sonic Fan Film, I started engaging in my own projects. Freelancing on the side again, networking with local musicians to visually promote their albums. My interest in 3D modeling and animation was rekindled. I started writing review for concerts, albums, movies, and video games. The one thing that people demonize me for is that they assume all my projects are just a cry for attention. Perhaps when I was involved with the Sonic community, but as of 2011, its for personal enrichment and learning new skill sets to incorporate in my work. My full time job involves working in an office cubical with other designers. My position is basically brainstorming ideas, delegating assignments to my team, and then designing mock ups and layouts for promotions. Its very involving, but rewarding at the same time. Its honestly my first job that has lasted longer than 6 months AND my first that I actually enjoy!

If anyone is interested in checking out my work, you can visit http://athirstybottle.net/ and http://catchuptheduck.deviantart.com of my pieces have been submitted to non-profit organizations like the Zeitgeist Movement.

Overall, I would never wanna confront my old self. He was an depressed, pathetic, egotistical, self-righteous, fascist, delusional, introvert that didn't care about the turmoil he caused. With that said, thanks for the warm welcomes. It really means a lot considered my (negative) history with FUS.
