Sea3On Animated? ..possibly

Not to mention the time and talent it would take to animate something. Hell even a 8 minute animation would take a small group of people and a huge chunk of time to animate.
So the other day I got another email from someone saying "Hey, lets make a Sea3on series!". And even though this email was thought out a bit more then the others I have gotten over time.. I still did my "Yeahhh..No" response. Cause I'm nice that way.
But the following day I recieved another email from the gentleman in question..Which actually peaked my interest up enough to bring all of this foreword to my Sea3on staff, as well as Bakuda and RedAuthar. Together we looked over some stuff, talked it out, and decided..What the hell. Might as well give this guy a chance to explain himself further. I mean really, all I would be doing is wasting a few minutes over skype at the worst.. So I called Matt into a meeting (you can check out his facebook page here actually https://www.facebook.com/pages/Classic-Sonic-the-Hedgehog/102023493218132?fref=ts ) and with Bakuda by my side we basically went over a few things.
I thin over all the meeting lasted around 40 minutes or so..Which was a lot longer then what I was originally planning on doing. But the reason for that is because I had to actually start putting some serious thought into the proposal he was putting forth.
Over all I think the meeting went good. There were a few demands that I made in the interest of FUS before I give any final say on the matter. Such as I want to see the first script and animation story board before I give the final "yeah okay go for it". But at this moment from certain things I have seen from past work..It looks pretty good. Would make a interesting small fan project.
One of the interesting things that made me think "Pretty good.." is one of the producers behind this, as well as a (probable) voice actor. Sally Test
So anyways, be sure to check out the Facebook Page this started at. Especially if you wish to give it any support.
As well stay tuned for a announcement in probably the near-ish future about whether not the site will be fully supporting and going forth on this. But be sure to toss down your support for this if you would like a animated Sea3on series.

Basically this page https://www.facebook...ated?ref=stream And this page https://www.facebook...3218132?fref=ts Have all the info on what Matt and his group are trying to do.
I'm just advertising a bit for them. As the more support they get and the more word gets out the better it could be..As well as the bigger chance of me giving it the final go ahead. I would like to see it happen but this isn't going to be some junk release. Thats why I'm waiting on a few things first.
So basically the more people support him and his group behind this the better chance it will have.

But then, that's the catch, isn't it? Quality. As it is, the comic generally manages to be on level with or better than the original animated series in terms of art and writing, no small feat to put it mildly (especially considering that the official Sonic comic series staffed by professionals rarely manages to achieve either). But while art and writing are fairly interchangeable, voice acting is much more reliant on specfic individuals that simply cannot be replaced. Much of the acting in SatAM was outstanding, and imitations, especially amateur ones, almost certainly cannot live up to it, sadly. Kath Soucie and Jim Cummings in particular provided some of my favorite performances in any medium, and the very notion of replacing them strikes me as absurd.
These concerns aren't targeted at Matt and his team directly, mind you. I certainly mean no offense and wish you the best of luck in this undertaking. The voice actor problem is one I've considered many times before, and it's the primary reason why I never seriously entertained the notion of Sea3on ever being more than a webcomic.

You just talk into a microphone for 5 - 10 minutes saying lines in different ways... how much would college get in your way?
Believe me, it's not THAT easy. I've done some amateur voice acting and it takes a longer time to get a good result, even more if someone is directing you. It took me 30-45 minutes to speak four or five lines trying to imitate Harry Potter a few months ago.
I wouldn't mind trying a voice. However, since any of the neutral-speaking characters would mean having to polish my accent a lot, I think I'd go for Antoine. My French accent is not so bad
So yeah, I'll try Antoine whenever I get some free time to try it.

That's the initial push, after you have the voice down, it takes a substantially smaller ammount of time. Considering how this is going to be a series, once the voice is "mastered" we should be able to pop those things out like jaffa cakes.

All I can say is... good luck with the project
You're going to need it.
As long if it doesn't look like Richard Kuta's Sonic project:
I'm sure you guys will make better animation then his ![]()
