@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

It's may not look TOO bad from the trailer, but when you actually play it.....it's just, yurk!

No, the trailer is terrible as well. The guns have no recoil, you seem to be able to take several assault rifle rounds with no problems(Just look at 0:47), and the voice acting is downright atrocious. What possessed you to try this, exactly?

What i meant with ''not TOO bad'' was: it's shitty like fuck, but when you actually play it, it's WORSE!

To expand my general video gaming culture, i decide to try some game from Eastern Europe, to see how they look like. That  monstrosity was one of them. Don't worry, i didn't spend a penny for this piece of thrash (game from ex-soviet territories are easy to pirate).

Edit: Oh yeah, i forget to mention, Chernobyl Commando is in fact a sequel from a game called ''Chernobyl: Terrorist Attack'', which is EVEN WORSE! The trailer of this mess is right here:

....And yes, if you ask me if i've ever played it, the answer is yes. Don't ask me why, i don't know myself. I guess it's my love for the Stalker series.

If that wasn't insane enough to make a sequel to ''Chernobyl Terrorist Attack'' (i'm obviously talking about Chernobyl Commando), the team behind this crap realise how much their game suck......so they made A SECOND FREAKING SEQUEL! It's called ''Chernobyl Underground'', here's the trailer:

Half-Life: 11/10

I don't own the game, but I found a really old demo that has the first fifth of the game (up to the part where Gordon first reaches the surface). It's amazing! I need the HL1 Anthology from Steam!

Empire: Total War -- eh, maybe 7/10. I bought it mainly for the American Revolution campaign, but the way it was designed was incredibly lazy. You start off as the Americans in the Boston region (this consists roughly of Massachusetts and New Hampshire) and Britain has control of everything else along the east coast from Canada to Florida (save for a small, nearly irrelevant French settlement in the north). I think if anything remotely like that had happened in real life, there wouldn't have been very much of a war.

Technically it was 1/3 of Americans were for Rebelling, 1/3 Didn't Care, and 1/3 was loyal to Britain.

Right. But I doubt the loyalists could become soldiers just by grabbing a gun the way the rebels could. They probably had to sign up for the British Army.

Psychology time!

Would the correct term in this situation be Rebels, or Patriots?

Well, a patriot is someone who expresses loyalty to their country, which a rebel is decidedly not doing. Even when the colonists decided to rebel, they still considered themselves British.

First Impressions:
Star Fox Adventures
Pretty fun so far. Sadly it's my first Star Fox game, but at least I'm already used to the gameplay in this title.

I've already made it a priority on my 3DS to-do list.

Currently, number one is Luigi's Mansion 2. I've already scratched Sonic Generations, Angry Birds, Mario 3D Land, OoT, Fire Emblem, and I pre-ordered Pokémon Y months ago.

Alright, i did a review of a game called ''Chernobyl Commando'' before (which suck ass balls), then i've recently try a another game from Eastern Europe. This time, it's a racing game, the name is ''Need for Russia: Greatest Car From CCCP''. So yeah, by the name i'm sure many of you can already guess by now, it's a racing game with Soviet car only. Being interest in Communist myself, i don't mind.

It's a game which i can't give a score....at least not yet. I can't finish the first race so far. Your opponent are surprisingly smart and hard to beat because of it. It's not impossible, but it's not easy either. I've try twice, and i finished second both time. In order to unlock the next circuit, i need to finish first in the first race. Then i would need to end first in the next race to unlock the next race, and repeat for the next and the next.

The control work fine, i have no problem driving the car. The control have a obvious arcade feel to it.

For the graphic....well, i have no idea when the game was released. But because of the graphic quality, i guess that game was probably released in the late 90's.......at least i hope so. Because otherwise it would be HORIIBLE compare to our today standard. But yeah, if this game is from the late 90's, then the graphic are fine for that era. The first (and only) circuit i seen was set in the snowy mountain.

I've download the demo of this game and in the Demo, they have two circuit to choose and two car to select. I always choose the blue one because it look cooler and is actualy faster than the other. The demo is very easy.....unlike the complete game (at least the first circuit is).

Need for Russia: Greatest Car From CCCP is not the only game in this franchise.....Yes, i said franchise. 3 Sequel was actualy made after that game. So i decide to give ''Need for Russia 2'' a try. And the first circuit in this second game is a circuit around Chernobyl and Pripyat! Preety awesome i got to said! I mean, think about this: How many game make you drive Soviet-only car, in a Chernobyl circuit? The answer is.....not alot, that's for sure! I play a bit more the second game, finish some circuit and it's not bad either. The graphic wasn't even upgrade from the first game though.

After a little look on youtube, the other game look different. I didn't saw footage from the third one in the serie, but i saw footage from the fourth and last one (Need for Russia 4). This game look like some kind of Need for Speed Underground rip-off but with soviet/modern car in urban night race. Very different from the first two game!

Overall, that's all i can said for ''Need for Russia: Greatest Car From CCCP'' and ''Need for Russia 2'' so far.

I'll probably look further into soviet/russian game and/or movie. Anyone want to wish me good luck? We never know. After all, i'm probably the only person in all this forum to check all this....i could be interesting, right?

IMO it'd be better to do Star Fox on SNES before Star Fox 64 than the other way around, and I think both games deserve to be played. The Star Fox 2 ROM floating around the internet is worth a play too. I don't know why Nintendo won't just release the game on Virtual Console or something since people are gonna be playing it anyway.

(For anyone who doesn't know, Star Fox 2 was a sequel that was supposed to come out in between SF and SF64, but it got canned completely even though it had been finished. It didn't even come out in Japan or anything.)

Yeah, i own both Starfox and Starfox 64. The reason why i only talked about Starfox 64, it's because he's the best between the two and he's also avaiable for two console (unlike the first game, who never was re-released elsewhere, beside maybe the virtual console).

I want to get a reproduction cartridge of Starfox 2 one day.

Trivia: did you know the first apearence of Star Wolf was not in Starfox 64, but in Starfox 2?

I'd be careful. There's at least one guy making them who Gideon Zhi (the guy who led the Star Fox 2 translation project and a friend of mine) is none too pleased with, 'cause he's making money off them and didn't so much as ask for permission.

It's expensive, but surely worth it.

Me too.

So far, the only reproduction cartridge i own is Moon Crystal on NES. It was released for the Famicom, never port elsewhere in the world. I could just buy the original cratridge, since i own a Famicom, but this game is freaking rare! In this reproduction cartridge, the Japanese text was translate to english. Now i want a reproduction of Sweet Home (a horror game for the Famicom, also never released elsewhere in the world), Starfox 2 and maybe other game.

I really don't think you should buy repros from people who are ripping off other people's work.

As a fan translator myself, I don't want people making repros of my work either.

What? Translation are cool. Because i don't speak Japanese, it's good to understand what is they said in Moon Crystal (or any other game for that matter).

I want to get a copy of Sweet Home, and because there's NO english version (or french, since it's my native language) and this game is an RPG, i definitely want a translated version.

Speaking of Japanese stuff, i will eventually get myself new game for my Nintendo 64 DD. I have Sim City 64, now i'll get some new game. So, expect new review from me to those game in the next few week.

In the meantime, here's the footage i took from my own N64DD:

....and footage from the game Sim City 64:
