I mean, a Human X Hedgehog relationship seems odd/gross, but it's no different than Sonally (a hedgehog and chipmunk), Tailsmo (a fox and alien plant), or Antunnie (a coyote and rabbit).

 

It wasn't needed, but it could've been much worse... If he was more realistic in appearance (as originally planned)... that's a different story.

Wow, THIS STORY SUCKS. I literally rolled my eyes when this scene came on, that and I wondered why Amy was just standing there, yeah she was like friends for her for about a minute but she would NOT take this lightly at all.

 

As for the whole human/animal thing, yeah shit like that is wrong but when it comes to cartoon animals and humans whatever. I mean people don't boycott Roger Rabbit or something. There are other examples like the first Blinx The Time Sweeper game and so on (I cannot think of other examples right now), and no one has called bull on any of them. I think people say that because they want to justify more on how much the story and game sucks but really it does it well all on it's own. I get the argument but cartoon characters like Sonic aren't like regular animals, it's not real life, and beings like them don't exist.

The Mobian, also know as the ''Mobo-Sapien'', aren't as different anymore (despite their species origin) from each other because they are all now at the same evolution state. The human on the other hand (know as the Homo-Sapien), even by being in a similar state of evolution to the Mobian, are a complete groupset of people with totally different origin to the Mobian, which seperated them from the other. The Overlanders, are closer to the human since they are our direct descendent on the evolution cycle.

No, is not wrong. More when the relation of Hedgehog human exist before the hedgehog born. Yes, I think all know already that they planned to put Sonic in a band with his human girlfriend before the hedgehog born, Madonna. I don't know why people get so "hostile" when they saw Elise.

From what I could tell, I think the humans are closer to the Mobian race than Overlanders are. I mean, Mobians are basically animals that evolved closer to a human-like satus with certain human traits (like bipedal bodies, increased intelligence, human hair, ect.), while the Overlanders are descendants of humans that survived the Xorda invasion that became more aggressive and ugly than their distant human cousins (take Julian and Snively for example). Since the humans of Station Square, Central City, and all the other secret societies are still normal human beings that survived the invasion, the Mobians have gotten closer while Overlanders have grown more distant.

The Mobian became closer to the human on a social and/or political standpoint, but from their ''physical'' standpoint, they are still a much different species. Overlanders and Mobian always was in tension with each other since the Overlanders are (at least for the most part) affraid of Mobian. But the Overlanders are far superior on a technological standpoint. As far as i know, the Overlanders are in fact the 3th most advanced civilizations in Mobius (behind the Human and the Echidnas). Things may have progress for some Mobian nation (like the Acorn Republic) who eventually gain better technologie by making new allies.

Snively looks like a miniature hobgoblin, Nate Morgan had a Mobian-like physique, and Julian looks like he swallowed a bathtub. Heck, Dr. Eggman himself looks like a Max Fleischer cartoon.

I personally don't see Nate as Mobian-looking at all. I don't see what he might have in common with Mobian on a physical standpoint. Julian was massive, but i don't see what can make him more Mobian than human. In fact, he remind me of a guy i used to know in school who was massive, like Robotnik (i think his name was Richard. He was a nice guy)

As soon as I watched the scene, I shut off the game involuntarily, it was like a brain impulse.
I could tolerate the massive glitches, I could tolerate the horrible gameplay (I played and "beat" both Cheetahmen games. So get stuffed.) But that was what it was all building up to?
No 'well the main hero died maybe the honor of the main character should go to the loyal and kind sidekick to pass the torch'?
No 'end of an era' stuff and a cause for everyone to fight harder against the devil (Mephiles is the devil, canon, because Mephiles and Mephistopheles are both names for the red guy.) And botnik?

Sega missed a chance to immortalize the blue blur and crank sales up, even if the rest of the game was still bad.

Course Colin Sr being Robotnik's brother and Snively's father doesn't look anything like a human.  

 

Honestly it was a switch in design.  Snively and Robotnik and Nate all came out before Human/Overlanders were regular characters thuse explaining their cartoonish appearances.  However as more Human characters appeared, and they tied to match them closer to the games, they looked more realistic.  

Heck for a while even the Mobians were looking more Humanoid.  Just look at the Heart Held Hostage story arc.

Well, as a cartoon character, i think it's normal to expect a cartoony look. But i don't see how his little size could make him more mobian than anything. I've saw smaller human people on guiness record than him. My sister is small and she's 1 year older than me. My girldfriend's mother is actually smaller than my sister, but she's not a Mobian either (or anything close to be).
