What Was Your First Reaction On Sonic Kissing Elise?...

Ok, time for another SECRET TRUTHS THAT WILL CAUSE PEOPLE TO HATE ME!
I...I actually have liked the Sonic games mostly all along up to this point...the Sonic Adventure series is amazingly hilarious in its camp, and fun to play. Sonic Heroes is...well, it's a good game IMO, but too repetitive. I honestly really like Shadow the Hedgehog, despite what people say. Sonic 06...despite the huge glaring flaws...I had a lot of fun with. THERE, I SAID IT! Um...Sonic and the Secret Rings was probably my least favorite Sonic game...Sonic Unleashed was pretty good...though I hated the Werehog segments. Sonic Colors was very good, though the writing was too childish. Generations was awesome, though again with the writing...and I honestly really love Sonic 4.
Well, there you go! The whole rotten truth! If you want to see more about why the HECK I like Sonic 06, read my review of it here http://ther2dude.blo...its-no-use.html

However, I don't let my thought of one action (That took place in a cut scene at the end no less) spoil my view on the game. I mean, if you hate the game I understand...BELIEVE me, I see why people hate this game. Though when people list this scene as the primary reason why they hate this game...(Not here, but elsewhere ...that's a bit much.

The only positive I can say about it is that (for it's time) the graphics were stunning and the story was dark. You don't see that with recent games.
Sonic Adventure 2 had one of the best stories (if you ignore the small loopholes) because of it's darker elements: You were FRAMED for a CRIME committed by a SCIENCE EXPERIMENT that is THREATENING to DESTROY THE EARTH. At one point, Amy gets held at GUNPOINT, and the RANSOM eggman wants is a chaos emerald. All the while, GUN ROBOTS are trying to HUNT YOU DOWN and KILL OR CAPTURE YOU to put you in JAIL. You BREAK OUT OF JAIL. SHADOW FUCKING DIES (or supposedly died).
Then you look at Sonic Generations. No death, no (real) immediate threat is apparent, and then you have the voices explaining things that some CHILDREN could blatantly understand. I just hope SEGA can take a hint and hire some more mature writers because most of their audience for sonic comes from those that are 12 and up, and think about how many of those kids play Call of Duty or other rated M games?

I will answer by paragraphs:
1º I have another thing. My gold rule of Sonic videogames: Every Sonic have at least, 1 epic music. In this case: crisis city.
2º Sonic Adventure (both) have epic story, no sense argue about it.
3º Generations was made for old fans. The game for itself isn't very...awesome...but If you are an old fan, for example when you hear the title of Sonic 3D Blast that is epic, make you the feel that the game is epic, or when you play your old favourite game. But again, generations is what it is because of the music.

Anyway, no, they aren't exactly cartoons (at least, not in the sense that roger rabbit was) plus, roger had a backstory about his wife, they were supposed to be together. Sonic was a couldn't-be-tied-down character. Elise was a 3D model of sorts that no one really likes.

Anyway answering to Robthe1st. no, it isn't weird...is just a cartoon and is not the first time that a human and an animal kiss. Where is the problem? As always the fans. The problem with Sonic was, is and will be always the fandom...85% of the fandom prefer to talk about What is wrong with Sonic? instead of "Best moment of Sonic". SEGA have always try do something diferent in order to fix people complains and those people who complain about for example: Sonic being repetitive...instead of thanks about that, they keep complaining with another no-sense reason.
This is on real example:
-Hey, Sonic is repetitive, is boring
-OMGASH A WEREHOG, WTF IS THAT, sega only shitty Sonic games
<Weeks later>
-Omg , Pokemon X, Y....SO AMAZING
(Me: Yeah sure, and pokemon isn't repetitive of course)
Thats the problem. The "vane" critics fan. Today I hate one thing, tomorrow I hate another, my reasons are null, but I have to hate it because I'm a Nintendo fan. If at least they dedicate their time to speak about how good are Nintendo games, but no....they waste time on what they don't like that I'm sure they don't spend more than 5 min of playing the game.
<note>:I'm not fan of Nintendo or SEGA, I just put a real example of a Nintendo fan
That's way I don't argue anymore in videogame forums. Is senseless...I prefer argue here where there are not braindead-that selfproclaim "gamers" just people that like some videogames and give neutrals opinions about game that they like or dislike.

I found her interesting at start...because She was completely a mystery. New character, not very talkative...was interesting, but after reveal all (that wasn't really hard to imagine) She converted to me in "just another character". I like her at start, but right now She doesn't have something special that make me feel "She's isn't another"
