Coyote's Challenge
Background:
The great Trickster, Coyote has devised what he believes to be the ultimate game show. He has set up a pocket dimension and loaded it with all sorts of surprises (both good and bad). He has personally invited (albeit in disguise) a number of individuals for a test run. They have been given the promise of making their wildest dreams come true, should they simply survive the night at an old farmhouse. Money, fame, power, world peace, bragging rights… Whatever their heart desires the most has been promised, should they win, as well. It's June 13th, and the weather is nice. The sun is about to go down in an hour. Each of the contestants will arrive by limo.Character Rules:
1a: One character per player.
1b: Players sharing a single account may co-op play a single character.
2a: Characters may be anyone, except for characters created by other players. Sorry. I just don't want anyone to get bent out of shape about someone "stealing" or "ruining" their characters..
2b: Characters from established universes must have research links (such as wikipedia) in their profiles, as not all players (or even the GM) may know what you're talking about.
2c: Character profiles must be fleshed out enough for the GM to make sense of them, without relying on research links. You may post links to pictures (but not the pictures themselves), for items, general body look, etc. But you still have to post a brief description, at least. The GM likes being able to copy and past profiles into a folder for quick reference, and links don't post into Notepad.
2d: Characters' powers and super-abilities will be "on the fritz" within Coyote's pocket dimension. I will roll 2 dice to see how a power or super-ability performs or fails when the character attempts to use it. Getting a 7 means that it works as intended. A 2 is a spectacular failure, A 12 is a spectacularly over-powered use of that ability/power. This also applies to such things as invulnerability or immortality.
2e: Characters don't need to have special powers. Special powers may be bestowed upon them through the use of special items. These are temporary effects.
2f: The GM reserves the right to tweak a character to make the RP funnier. Such as making Mario voiced by Joe Pesci.
3: Please use the following Character creation form.
Name:
Age:
Species: [The GM encourages the use of non-humans]
Occupation:
Physical Description:
Psychological Profile:
Special Ability/Power (#1): [Name. Description of power. Make a new one of these for each power/ability. If none, mark this as N/A.]
Other: [Trivial information goes here.]
4a: Your character will earn points. These points will be used to determine the overall winner if more than one person survives. The GM will award and/or take away points based on a secret method. The characters can see their points.
4b: Your character will have a Survival Percentage rating. This is how likely they are to survive, and works independently of the points. Be warned that high numbers don't indicate assured survival, however. This is a gauge of how in-tune with the GM's game plan you are. One wrong move can get someone with a 100% survival rating killed. One right move can save the life of someone with 0%. Characters can't see this rating. It's just for player information. Everyone starts at 50%. Be warned that other people's actions can affect your own survival chances, too.
4c: I will state the character points and survival percentage each round.
RPG Rules
1: This is a survival RPG, not a porno. Please RP respectfully to that. Going into pornish territory will get you punished.
2: Violence and gore can go into the unrated realms. Have fun with this one.
3: You are allowed to cuss. Don't abuse the permission.
4: This is a Per-Round RPG. Everyone posts their attempted actions and I let y'all know how it turns out, how long it's taken, and assign points and survival percentages.
5: This is a thinking RPG. You're in a world where not everything is as it seems. So, remember to take nothing at face value, unless I let you know that it is, in fact, a completely non-magical quarter that was left on the table… Pay close attention to what I post about your encounters with the world and whatever creatures you come across…
6: Despite the fact that I WANT everyone to survive the RPG, it won't stop me from killing everyone. So pay close attention to the details I post. They're not just there because I like details. They may help you survive at some point in the RPG. Don't lose hope, though. There are many different ways to get around or through any obstacles I throw at you. Some just have higher payoff than others.
7: If you have any questions about anything, ask me, rather than just assuming something is a certain way. Your assumptions may be wrong.
The Map
This is the entire world, as far as the RPG is concerned. Don't even bother trying to go off-map. You'll just flatten your nose against an invisible wall. http://i371.photobuc...sChallenge1.jpg
