"The Phantom Pain" is an upcoming video game Coming out on the 360 and PS3. The game seems to be about an amputated middle-aged man who just awoke from a coma and is dragged outta bed by a companion (maybe) and attempts to escape a hospital that is being invaded by some military-ish group.
And a burning guy.
And a Burning Whale......
The Company making the game is called Moby Dick Studio...however they really popped up outta nowhere. Like a week or two before the site.
That and the company owner Joakim (how do you pronounce that, Joke Im?) Mogren might be an alias for Kojima and project Ogre (Joakim-Kojima, mOGREn).
That and the main character looks surprisingly like Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series when you get a look at his face.
Could "The Phantom Pain" secretly be Metal Gear Solid 5? Maybe it has something to do with Metal Gear Ground Zeroes? Maybe I'm just hoping it's Metal Gear because I'm a huge Metal Gear Fan. Who knows?
Either way the game looks pretty interesting.

i heard this rumor too and its pointing towards a new MSG. it will be worth looking into

If Kojima was going to make a sequel but not include a Metal Gear, would he still call it Metal Gear?

It would pretty much need Metal Gear to be in the title to be part of the series. It would be cool if it's a new Metal Gear game. If not, it still looks interesting regardless.

I know I'm late to the party, but I think it is Metal Gear 5 (Ground Zero even?) and they're just having some fun with us. What fun, though! That trailer is like JESUS CHRIST WHAT AM I WATCHING?

That's what it might likely be. I've thought about it too. It could either be part of Ground Zeroes or MGS 5.

My only doubt about Ground Zeroes is that in that game you Play Big Boss/Naked Snake, who does not seem to have a prosthetic arm, which the Phantom Pain guy seems to have. However...since Ocelot can replace his lost arm with a new one, there is no reason Big Boss can't...

It seems like most of us were right about this. I'm stoked for this game. Metal Gear is one of the few game series I follow nowadays, so new titles are always welcome.
