@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Hey. They changed the cover.

You know, one thing that would make this comic a better read is if they would actually stop making so many pointless filler characters and actually develop the main cast instead. Cause you know, that's the ones we're most interested in.

I know that sounds oxymoron of a statement since I hate Archie Sonic, but theoretically speaking, I never understood why this comic just keeps churning more and more characters that will in no means contribute anything of value.

Meh, whatever... it is what it is I suppose.

No offence, but comics aren't the same with animation. Comics lean more on action and drama because that's what a comic-book format works best with. A good example of this would be "The Adventures of Tintin". Animation, on the other hand, has no such limits and can expand to other material that a comic-book would have problems portraying, such as better timing and character development.

That might be the reason why "Batman: TAS" and other DC/Marvel animated series do a better job at depicting the characters than their own comic-book series. Had the Sonic comic series been adapted to animation, it would probably work much better than how it actually is. But for what it has to offer, I still enjoy it.

I don't see how a lack of animation prevents any character development whatsoever. Character development is not that complicated to do. It's just something that takes alot of hard work and effort from the writer/writers to pull off because it's not something you can just splice together and make it believable.

It needs to feel real to the audience for it to be considered development.

Is character development easier to do in animated cartoons? Definitely, but it can also be done in comics too I believe.

Good thing the book has it, and seeing new people doesn't invalidate that.

Yea, very little of it though.

And I never said new characters invalidate it, but they're mostly a waste of space because that time of coming up with them could've actually gone to developing the cast better that the fans love, not some vague group hardly any fan would blink an eye over if they got hit with a nuke.

I have to agree with Laser, while it is nice to see new characters, I think it be better to spend time developing older characters.

i agree
Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

That's one of the things that irks me about Ian so much. He spends so much time with characters hardly anyone cares about.

I'd really like to know why he does that because I don't consider it a good writing trait at all.

Easy. When he was a reader these were the characters he wanted to know more about and/or thought deserved more panel time.

Perhaps...

However, I'm starting to think the main reason Ian likes to bring in obscure characters is because he has absolute freedom with them. He doesn't have to worry about any mandates with no name comic book characters like the ones in this issue.

Kind of. Also remember others have already established many characters before him. What he's doing is writing for characters that already exist but allow him more freedom to prove he can write the story without having to introduce a buttload of new characters. When writers change, that happens a lot.

Yea, I suppose that makes sense when you put it that way.

Yea, I know.

I honestly don't. I believe the comic would be better off if they got rid of at least half of the filler comic cast and just focused on the main ones, giving them as much character development and epic moments as possible.

But yea, that's just me.
