@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Its possible

Yeah, except it isn't gonna be everything in the world.

This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! regardless, being a top show in America is kind of a big deal. 4.8 million viewers is kind of a big deal. You see where I'm going with this right? You have a fan base, you don't piss them off by throwing out a successful show they follow and bringing in something totally different that may or may not stick.

It was probably ABC had a falling out with the Crew in charge of the show.

I bet #9 in the world was The Chairman Mao Show Starring Chairman Mao.

It was also #8 through 1.

As time has gone by, people are watching less TV shows on actual TVs and using other devices or methods to watch them. Plus it doesn't help that there's plenty of channels too. The more channels there are, the more competition there is.

Back in the 1980s, episodes of Doctor Who were reaching between 6-8million viewers an episode, compared to the 10-12million the show would get during the 70s (the highest it managed at one point was 16million), the BBC saw this as a major drop and by the end of the 80s, episodes were pulling in only 3-5million (mostly due to the BBC airing it opposite one of the most beloved and watched shows in the country). And this was at a time when the UK only really had 4 major TV stations in the 80s compared to the 3 TV stations there was during the 70s.

Today, new episodes of Doctor Who pull in around 6-8million (Christmas specials usually pull in more for obvious reasons) and the BBC are happy with this number, the show usually ends up being the most watched program of the day and is mostly always in the top 10 shows of the week, something it wasn't doing back in the 80s with the same amount of viewers. And keep in mind this is just in the UK, a country much much smaller then the states,

These SatAM numbers are without a doubt the numbers for that timeslot or at least in the sense of Saturday morning cartoons of the time and not for the whole day. And for all we know, that one piece of evidence we have there might not be overall, but that could be for just one week and not a whole year. While #9 is good, there were still 8 shows that did better then SatAM did in that timeslot.

Plus what usually happens with any TV show during it's run? People stop watching. Viewing figures drop over the weeks for most shows. Your pilot gets solid numbers but as the weeks go by, the numbers drop at a steady pace. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles got a 18.6million for it's pilot, an overall of 10.8million for it's first season and ranked in at #35. The second (and last) season? Overall, 5.5million watchers and ranked in at #110. That's a huge dropoff in viewers.

Bottom line is, we don't know if that info is for the first season, the second season, what week it was or if it was for the whole year. We don't know. If it's the first season, then where did season 2 rank? Because if those were good numbers for season 1 and ABC commissioned a second season, then season 2 probably did worse.

SatAM would never get made today. After all, what is the difference between freedom fighter and terrorist?

I think he have part of reason. They try to fight against that they think is bad with wars...Is not really very different that occurs today...Well, is a exageration. We don't have here a mad guy that try robotize all xD but have his part of reason.

About the story of why not 3 season, be glad to have 2. Remember that in Spain, we only have 1 season :|

SatAM is definitely not a violent show -- but that's by our definition of "violent". The TV networks' definitions of "violent" have just become more and more warped. Mind, it's always been a little warped -- even GI Joe was forced to use lasers instead of the "real" guns portrayed in the toy line. Rocksteady wields an SMG or assault rifle (I'm not sure what it is, but it definitely shoots bullets) in the TMNT arcade game and its home port, but always a laser in the cartoon. (This is a bit odd if you think about it, because Nintendo's censorship policies were very strict in the NES era. People who think Nintendo is still a kiddie company have no idea how good today's Nintendo fans have got it compared to then.) Anyway, one of the reasons today's children's cartoons are so insipid, above and beyond the 80s and 90s cartoons, is because the companies are so afraid that angry soccer moms will call and complain. No wonder idiot otaku fanboys talk about anime like it's the best thing ever, because it can get away with a lot more stuff when it's not being censored by 4kids and stuff.

The dark tone of SatAM is something one isn't likely to see in today's cartoons, unless perhaps it's a Batman cartoon or something, and I hear even Batman isn't exactly reliving the glory days of Batman: TAS.

Shows today honestly aren't that bad, ESPECIALLY compared to the 80s. SataM's dark tone could be easily remade, and enhanced. It's not exactly Twisted Metal.

Netflix is different in every country. For instance, I've been watching Star Trek TNG for the last year on Netflix in America. Canada just now put TNG up on their Netflix. It's different depending on which country you live in.
