The world.
This effects not just toys, but tabletop gaming if this is true. Hasbro owns Wizards of the coast which own the rights to D&D, Magic the gathering, Kaijudo(Duel Masters), as well as other well know tabletop games.

My Little Pony is danger of da mice!
You guys do realise that it's been reported that this is all just bullshit and there were no talks between the two companies.
Wouldn't make much sense after spending $4.5billion on buying out Lucasfilms, they would jump right ahead and purchase another big company right away after just a week. They bought out Marvel way back in 2009 and three years later Lucasfilms, not a week. Hell, if Disney were to go after Hasbro, Hasbro would have to dissolve any agreements they'd have with Disney's competitors.
I mean what's stopping me from starting a rumor saying Disney are planning to buy Mattel, Coca Cola, Nestle, the BBC, Sony and a whole bunch of other companies and then people saying all this is true? It just seems like some douche realised that Hasbro makes toylines for Marvel and Lucasfilm properties and thought "Hey, maybe they'll buy Hasbro next!" So they started a rumor that got waaaaaay outta hand and soon people mistook "rumor" for "fact". And so now said "rumor/fact" has been debunked.
