For me, "Redwall" was a pre-SatAM. It was epic, dark, and downright scary at certain points. But what drew us into the series the most were its characters. Matthias, Cornflower, Cluny the Scourge, ect. They were all memorable.

Ya know, I've never seen The Secret of NIMH. Animation enthusiast friends of mine have been urging me to see it.
What?!? That's one of my favorite Bluth films. You. Must. Watch!

I'd also like to thank chief for introducing me to Redwall. This has very quickly became my favorite animated series. I'm watching season 3 right now and it just keeps getting better!
If you, or anyone else here is a crier keep tissues with you when you watch the last episode.
Overall, the "Redwall" series was good, it is one of the cartoons post Sonic Sat a.m that had, as Dan Drazen says, "heart." Another one that did have "heart" would be the "Avatar: the Last Airbender" series.

First of all, the good things:
The score is absolutely fantastic in this series. Lots of gregorian style music mixed in with modern orchestral instrumentation is amazing. I must say the opening theme is really fun to listen to.
Atmosphere is pretty nice too. I like the look of the characters. This show reminds me a lot of the Canadian WSD series, right down to the animation and quality voice acting. It's definitely a great style that is tried and true, and pretty rare these days.
Now, on to my concerns:
This may be a moot point in later seasons of the show, but I have to ask the question. Is EVERY episode in this series going to involve thwarting a ridiculous siege? The stories seem kind of repetative at the moment. Granted, I like the fact that the show has a solid story arc with seemingly no fillers, but it seems pretty simplistic. Does the series get more interesting in this department?
Secondly, someone should stage a coup on that damn abbot. He doesn't seem to even want to fight in self defense, which lead to me being confused in the second episode when a bunch of knight mice came out of the front gate. I did not expect the abbey to have warriors in it. It's a little disappointing to me that I've seen the same fighting montages several times in only seven episodes. I can only hope that gets better as well.
I'm probably gonna stick with it awhile longer, but I'm nervous. Overall I like the premise of the show, and see the potential in it.
