@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

As I said in the other topic, I'm very skeptical about this.

Disney has a pretty terrible track record with sequels. Even with their own stuff. I seriously can't expect them to do this well.

In addition, the EU, which has been tightly knit for twenty years, is going to suffer pretty hard.

I think it'll be some time of spin off of the films, similar to Clone Wars: The Movie.

Plus, I don't think we should worry, because Disney did pretty well with the Marvel movies (Avengers, anyone?)

Avengers was pretty amazing, but they didn't have any movie to live up to.

Star Wars does. If they do good, it's great. If they do bad.........

Many fans will be angered... They may have rage of the Brooklyn variety
Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

True. Theaters got death threats for Star Wars in 3D.

Some of the more radical fans may not approve of Disney's actions.

I'm not that happy with the idea of Episode 7, but this is a new generation of people who grew up on Star Wars, making the movie.
Maybe they will make it good. Maybe Han will shoot first again!

Truth be told, I'd rather none of the original characters show up, except as maybe cameos or something.

I mean, all the original actors are old now. If they use them, I think they should play to that like they did with Crystal Skull.

On top of that, like I said, the original six movies already tell a complete story. The Rise, Fall, and Redemption of Anakin Skywalker.

Episode VII should be something new, tell a whole new story set in that familiar galaxy. Let the EU chronicle the further adventures of Luke and Leia and Han. Give us something different (so that they can't mess up the old characters).

If anything, R2 and 3PO should still pop up since the original idea was for the Droids to be the only characters to appear in all the movies.

This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. So much for a Thrawn Trilogy adaptation or anything similar: http://www.eonline.c...ucasfilm-source

At this point, I'm hoping it's similar to Legacy and KOTOR/TotJ in that it's set well beyond the rest of the EU, with a completely new cast of characters (though the droids could potentially still show up; Artoo's inclusion in Legacy was one of the few things I liked about the comic). At this point, it's likely either that or the EU gets rebooted, which I would find very, very upsetting.

I would have to abandon Star Wars if that was the case.

I think no old characters will appear at all. I think it'll take place years into the future.

Well i remember George Lucas saying 7, 8 & 9 would be about Luke rebuilding the Jedi

He said that then, this is now. He might have changed his mind about how the sequel trilogy will go now. Let's not forget that Lucas likes to change his mind as often as any self respecting person will change their underpants.

If the sequel trilogy is going to be set a number of years, like 30 or so after the events of Jedi, I'd like to think that if any characters can come back besides R2 and 3PO, then perhaps Luke can in the sense of being like Obi-Wan Kenobi, who passes the torch on to someone else. We don't need Princess Leia, or Han Solo, or Lando, just Luke. Because the Star Wars movies are more or less about the Skywalkers, so it'd make sense to include a Skywalker in there somehow. If they were to make a new Star Wars movie without at least one character from the previous movies, it wouldn't feel right.

I think Episode VII should be about Wedge Antilles busting a nut and finally proving to everyone that he is the best star pilot in the whole galaxy and single handedly takes on the Empire in a busted up X-Wing. Anakin and Luke ani't got shit compared to Wedge.

Even before I discovered the EU, Wedge was always my favorite character. Stackpole and Allston merely cemented that love.

Yub yub, Commander.
