As has been said, I don't think Disney could ruin Star Wars worse than Lucas already has.
Yet you've never seen Star Wars so your opinion on Lucas ruining the franchise is still valid?
Lucas is a huge source of bullshit. Dude can never make up his fucking mind. It was once said the Star Wars saga was meant to be 12 parts long, but then that quickly changed to 9. The original Star Wars was originally went to be the first part, when released back in 1977 it did have the 'Episode IV: A New Hope' title, that came in a 1981 re-release after he had made Empire. During pre production and even shooting, Empire was just Star Wars II. It wasn't until the idea of Vader becoming Luke's father like Misk stated that Lucas figured he could tell the story of Anakin's fall to the darkside and decided to make Empire the fifth part on the series and thus retconning Star Wars to the 4th part and giving it the title of 'A New Hope'. He has never planned ahead for anything with this franchise.
Lucas has always been a sell out since around the time of 'Return of the Jedi'. With the first two movies, all the products were an after thought, like the characters and the vehicles were designed for the movies first and formost, but with Jedi it's all too obvious that the Ewoks were included to appeal to kids and make a ton of bank, especially when it was originally going to be the Wookies involved in the fall of the Empire. And when you get to the prequels, it's obvious to even a deaf, dumb and blind person that anything and everything in those movies were included to the main purpose of being turned into a toy. The podrace sequence in Episode I is nothing but a boring ass 15 minute long toy commerical.
Disney can do anything. Plus sense its a Disney Movie now i can see it being more PGish cause if they dont you know the soccer moms will complain
Star Wars was always a PG rated series, only Episode III was rated PG-13. Funny how it was rated that when Lucas has always said the franchise was aimed at children.
"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia

Plus, I don't care bad things may have gotten with Star Wars. They are still good movies, and I enjoy them either way.
I like the Special Editions as much as the originals. I enjoy the prequels, and grew up with Episode 1. I EVEN LOVE JAR JAR BINKS.
And nothing can change that.
Though I am still confused as to whether I should be excited or scared.

Well, remember guys, they did incredibly well with the Avengers.
What? You mean by them just releasing The Avengers? Because that's all they did. Disney have pretty much left Marvel to do their own thing since buying them out.

Well, it's not my opinion so much as general consensus.Yet you've never seen Star Wars so your opinion on Lucas ruining the franchise is still valid?

The only reason why The Avengers was good cause they have been around for YEARS. Its a popular comic franchise
So going by that logic, Batman & Robin is a good movie because the Batman comics are popular and have been around for years. Or Superman IV: The Quest for Peace is a good movie for the same reason. And what about X-Men: The Last Stand, surely that must be good because the X-Men comics are been around for years. Oh, and let's not forget Catwoman too!

Yeah, but maybe Disney will let Lucasfilm work on their own. George will have less to do with the new movies, and is pretty much passing the Lightsaber to a new generation.
If we're lucky, that'll be the case. But somehow I doubt it.
The Avengers was something all the recent Marvel movies had been building up to. So it could be argued that The Avengers was already in a state of psuedo-production by the time Disney bought Marvel.
In this case, they'd be starting from scratch. And Disney's obviously just seeing a paycheck when they look at Star Wars, so I doubt they'd sit back and let someone do their own thing.
Though if I'm wrong, and I sincerely hope I am, more power to them.

Disney didn't make the deal with Paramount to distirbute The Avengers and Iron Man 3 until October 2010. While The Avengers hadn't started filming until Febuary 2011, the script had been approved, casting underway, Joss Whedon hired as director and nearly all the pre-production phase had been done and completed while Paramount were still the ones planning to release the movie, a good while before Disney got involved.

Disney see a paycheck in anything and everything they have bought. But they've let Marvel continue to do their own thing. While Disney own Marvel, Marvel still operate as they always have, and LucasFilm will most likely do the same.

Well, if they allow that to be so, then I'll be more on board.
Until that's confirmed though, I'll just hang back.

Also...I CAN see Disney putting out more high rated stuff, they will just keep their Disney name off it. You can still release pg-13, and up..Just keep the Disney TradeMark out of it. It isn't hard. All these companies Disney buys still stay separate companies. Just run under the Disney umbrella.

This could be a good or a bad thing, but the video doesn't make me feel better about it.
