@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

That and the whole Genesis Arc that happened right before it. I mean it was interesting to see an alternate start to the story. But.....uh why? Nothings come of it. It was brief and kinda pointless.

It was almost as if they were throwing out the concept of an Alternate Sonic Comic, almost like Ultimate Marvel to Normal Marvel-verse, to see if fans would read it. But no new comic spawned from it.

I don't know if it's Ian, but there have been a lot of plot delaying arcs that serve just to make the story last longer.

That's what I'm thinking too. They're making the arcs longer just to toy with the fanbases' emotions. And like I said, I like long stories, but if a story if going to be long, each part needs to move it forward to the final climax.

That's what I did when I wrote one fanfic. It was very long, but I tried to make each part essential to the story. That's what Ian and Archie Sonic should be doing. If they want to do a 25 issue arc, fine, but make it worth our time or don't even bother.

Maybe they are running out of ideas

I'm almost certain they are. Way too much random and bizarre stuff has happened to make me think this story was done with alot of care and planning.

We should write to Archie and tell them let us write the comic. Since its based off of SatAM why not let the people who know and love the show write it. We could probably do a better job the Penders and Flynn combined

If that's true it's time to hire a new writer.

Me?? :awesome:

Im joking with this but i could do a better job

Somehow, I doubt anyone here would do a better job (including myself). Some writers here may be better than others, but how would they handle against all of Sega's mandates and deadlines? Trying to shape up the comic would be the least of your concerns.

Not to mention the audiences' reactions. You may please a certain amount of viewers by bringing the comic back to its SatAM roots, but what about the other fans? You can't please everybody. One group's treasure may be another group's trash.

See thats the problem with the fan base. its divided into 3 groups: The TV/Anime, Comics, and The Games. At least try to appease 2 of the 3 and your golden. I'm saying a group of us doing it would put less stress on it and we are basically like minded people so it can work out

No dude, there's more then just three groups. I mean if it went by your way, then that would suggest that all fans of the TV/Anime part would pop huge boners for Sonic Underground and that's not the case. There are some SatAM fans out there who despise Underground. And me? I love me some SatAM, but I can't stand Sonic X or AoStH.

And there's comic fans who actually don't like SatAM. Plus how people who have read Archie actually read the Fleetway comic?

And then there's the die hard video game fans/the fans of the Japanese side of Sonic who hate everything that's not the video games or from Japan.

The Sonic fandom has so many different universes and continuities. Video games, AoStH, SatAM, Underground, Archie, the OVA, Sonic X, the manga, Fleetway and so on. We got at least 9 different sets in this fandom, each one with it's fans and haters.
'Star Wars' is my story, just like my house is my house. So if I wanna paint my house green, even if everyone else thinks it should be red, guess what? I'm gonna paint it Jar Jar! - George Lucas

"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia

I usually consider those the sub divisions but i get your point though

It's not a break from the main plot. It's focusing on ONE plot (Eggman's Death Egg) instead of the other two going on(Mecha Sally[which is really more of a subplot] and King Naugus): Endangered Species is not a Marvel parody just because it has the same obvious name.

Albion was destroyed. Knuckles then took his echidna brethren, and sent them all to Albion to keep them from the dangers of Dingo-infested Echidnaopolis and the pain of the Dark Legion. So now it's essentially a city of refugees, trying to rebuild a ruined civilization. This is why it's so incredibly bad that Eggman is hitting it AGAIN.

I dont think Eggman cares

Xavier's Mansion is destroyed, and the team escapes the danger of a Mutant hating city to another one meanwhile the Brotherhood of evil mutants make things worse. Not to mention the whole M-Day status the reduced the amount of Mutants in the world. So they're essentially an Island of Refugees that now have to face the threat of a Marvel universe crossover.

Yeah. Nothing alike. In the slightest. xD

I'm not saying it's going to be a ripoff. Nobody is that stupid. But I'm not putting it past them from taking ideas from the X-Men's Endangered Species Storyline.

That's true. You can't please everyone. Although, Ian certainly didn't try very hard with this latest story of his, if at all. It was so obviously one sided on which fanbase he was catering to from 230 and on, it was downright pathetic.

It was 90% SegaSonic, 10% Archie Sonic. And even that number is a stretch as far as I'm concerned.

Also no matter how good or bad a writer he is, if he's outta ideas, Archie should hire another writer.

This doesn't mean get rid of Ian, it just means get someone else as well.

That's fine with me. Personally, they should have as many as 4.

Sonic is way too complex of a series to be done right by just one.

He's writing 3 last time I heard.

Sheesh, that's just nuts. Even writing for 2 would be a challenge for me if I ever had a job like that.

You can't focus all of your time and effort on one in that case.

I never heard of them though until they appeared as an ad in Archie Comics.

You know, I really wonder if there's any point to this "endangered species" story arc. It doesn't look like it'll play any necessary role to Sally finally getting deroboticized or even the climax with Eggman.

More padding perhaps...? Posted Image

Well if Mecha Sally sub plot was finished right now, then it would been too easy and a bit of waste of time. After all, the storyline has to stretched enough to get people interested. Or like some people said, Ian's running out of ideas.

The comic does need some variety of writers, but that could result some inconsistency in the story.

He writes three comic books.
