Meh. I think movies like that are boring.

one thats based off a true story?? its good
I don't have any doubt that it's a good movie. I just don't like dramas that much. The rare exception being Forest Gump. (I got a Bubba Gump hat just like the one Forest wears!

. Alien, Aliens and Alien³
An effective trilogy of movies that if they wanted to make more, they should of at least stopped the story of Ellen Ripley after the 3rd movie. Alien³ tends to get a whole lot of flack from people because it had the impossible task of following up from two excellent movies that were so different from each other, but it finished up the story in a perfect manner that was made pointless when the next entry in the franchise came about.
. Clerks
Anybody who has worked in retail can understand what it's like and this flick nails it on the head. Throw in some insanely odd but funny moments (hockey on the roof of the store anyone?) and some excellent dialogue (including a discussion about the construction of the Death Star of all things) and it's a winner. Sure it's in black and white, but that only helps sell the whole experience of working in retail.
. Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn and Army of Darkness
How many franchises can go from horror, to horror-comedy to comedy and still be a riot all the way through? These movies were director Sam Raimi at his finest and while a remake of the first is on the horizon, I have some hope for it as Raimi and series star Bruce Campbell are involved in it's production as producers. Plus the trailer looks promising.
. Full Metal Jacket
An amazing Vietnam war movie which is unlike any other. A solid cast, a decent story and it still blows people's minds when I tell them that the entire movie was filmed in the UK.
. Ghostbusters
Need I have to say anything about this one? It's one of the greatest comedy movies of all time!
. The Goonies
Again? Need I have to say something about this one? They don't make movies like this any more.
. The Great Escape
An amazing movie based on the true story of an escape from one of the Nazi's high security prison camps. An amazing cast and some truely emotional moments.
. John Carpenter's Halloween
Simply put, no Halloween, the slasher genre of the 80s horror movies wouldn't exist.
. Monty Python's The Holy Grail, The Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life
The Python's epic trilogy of movies that put us Brits are the kings of comedy. Sure there's also And Now For Something Completely Different, but when it's just a collection of sketches from the first couple of seasons of the show, does it really count?
. Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie
Mike Nelson, Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot tackle the cheesy 1950's movie This Island Earth. Shame this movie was poorly treated by the studio with a terrible release, because had it been given a decent run, there could of been more movies with the crew of the Satellite of Love riffing more big budget movies.
. Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead and Land of the Dead
George A. Romero created the zombie genre with a series of movies that each had a different theme and setting, keeping it fresh rather then giving us the same of crap over and over. Shame the last two entries in the series were lukewarm, but the first four are great.
. A Nightmare on Elm Street and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
A slasher series like no other. While there are a couple of other entries in this series I like, like The Dream Child, Wes Craven's New Nightmare and Freddy VS Jason, it's these two that are the highlight of the entire series.
. Predator
Decent Sci-Fi action movie with some classic cheesy 80s moments and acting. All I'll say is "GET TO DA CHOPPA!"
. Robocop
Another 80s movie which is an amazing offering that should of really been a one off. Shame it became a franchise because everything after it failed to capture what made the original so great and now with a remake on a the way, a remake which is being laughed at and mocked by the internet, the studio has pushed it's release date back. Part of me is hoping this remake gets cancelled.
. The Shawshank Redemption
Frank Darabont's masterpiece about a wrongly convicted man being imprisoned for the murder of his wife and her lover, how he deals with life on the inside, changing the way things run in the prison and his eventual escape. An amazing cast and some emotional moments truely make this a movie to be seen by all.
. The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day
. Forget the likes of Titanic and Avatar, these two movies were James Cameron at his finest, and another example of a franchise gone to hell because they had to keep making more. They should of left it at T2 and that would of been perfect.
. John Carpenter's The Thing
Most remakes suck. Sure there's the odd one that's okay and this is one of them. Carpenter takes the short story Who Goes There? and does an adaption more faithful to it then the 1950's attempt The Thing from Another World. Carpenter and Rob Bottin came up with some truely amazing visual effects that still hold up to this day. CGI ani't got shit on this movie's special effects.
. Transformers: The Movie
Despite there being three big budget Hollywood blockbuster movies based on the franchise (with a fourth on the way) this little 1980s animated offering has more going for it then anything Michael Bay has ever and will ever give us with the Transformers name attached to it.
"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia

im surprised none of us said classics like Forrest Gump or the Godfather or Schindler's List
Actually, I mentioned Forrest Gump as my 3rd favorite movie. I love that movie! I even have my own Bubba Gump hat just like Forrest's!
