IIRC, the book actually originally motivated one of Sally's costume changes this way, with the simple remark, "Huh! I could use some pockets!" when she put on her trademark mid-80s blue vest. Nice little touch, right?

Huh, I thought that one was retconned into making the vest a gift from Julayla?

But yeah, ludicrous is a pretty good word to describe this whole 'massive and warped justification for a change in look' trend the comic has going on, which why I really, reaallly hope there is more to the aftermath of all this other than a cosmetic alteration.

The whole roboticization plot is not just an excuse to redesign Sally. That should be obvious by the fact that it's been going on for over a year. If it was, they could change her back immediately after it was over.

Bunnie has gotten the whole jacket and hat design,
Rotor got glasses and a jacket.
Antoine's design has stayed mostly the same, just depending on the artist is how elaborate his uniform is.
Tails changed color.
Sonic....his shoes got more realistic and his quills got longer.

Sally grew her hair out and then cut it later. In all honesty, it was about time she got a redesigned outfit.

Actually it's likely she will do that. It's just the why part everyone is wondering. Is there going to be a reason or is she just going to do it?

Mother of Mobius.....it does look like her design! Not so much the hair but the clothing!

Personally, I like the new design. (yeah, I said it)

One of the major problems I've had with many previous Sonic shows/comics were their designs for the original characters; they always looked like rejects from completely different shows. AoStH characters resembled a bizarre mixture of "Rocko's Modern Life" with a John Kricfaluski cartoon, SatAM had realistic-looking, Disney-style anthropomorphic animals; and "Underground" had the grotesque-looking mutant creatures that looked like something out of TMNT.

Most of these different styles and appearances heavily conflicted with Sonic's overall simplistic design. And while Sega's modern design style can be bland and generic with most characters, at least they look like they belong in the same universe. There can be some exceptions (like Big and Vector), but even they have common traits with other characters.

basically we will have to just wait till the design offically debuts in the comics and see how well it goes over with everyone.

If it goes over strongly in a postive way, the design will stay

if it goes over strongly in mixed way, we may the artists switch her back and forth (new to Season 2 design and vise versa)

if it goes over strongly in a neagtive way, we may see her season 2 design return sooner than later.

But for now, just let it be and wait and see.

Watch the moment she is de-roboticized, Sonic and Sally will run up and kiss, im calling that now. But i agree with Red. i think it was time for a change. the reasoning behind it isnt good

Ok, the new design i can live with...like people have said, I think it's time characters in the comic got a fresh 'new' look. yes i do wish that they kept the little cheek tufts of fur, but that's something that we'll have to live without. now, what i'm wondering is...are they redesigning the entire SatAM crew, cause if you think about it, we haven't heard anything about Bunnie, or Antoine in quite a while
