I knew that. I was just wondering why.
I mean, Amy and Eggman's SA redesigns were just as drastic as Sally's redesign, yet everyone excludes them for whatever reason. All I'm asking is "why?" Is it because Sally's too perfect to change? People seem to forget that characters change as time passes.
Take a look at animator Freedy Moore's redesign of Mickey Mouse in the 1939 short "The Pointer". His design was quite different from the origonal version that everyone was familiar with back then, yet it became Mickey's official look to this very day.
Another good example is the dark knight himself, Batman. His origonal design in the early comics and TV series was a blue mask and cape, light grey jumpsuit, and a bight yellow symbol on his belt. But when the series started becoming more serious, not only did they darken his costume, but they also gave him an armored combat suit for protection. The result was a tougher and more interesting depiction of the character.
Who knows? Maybe this design for Sally won't be so bad after all. Only time will tell.
Yea...no. The problem is that those changes were understandable. Let me list a couple.
Batman:
As he moved on through is life, he felt that he needed to represent his fallen parents more and more, explaining the black suit, for black = sadness/mourning. Also, this helped him use what he usually uses now: the darkness, to his advantage.
Sonic The Hedgehog:
Most human babies have huge heads, compared to their bodies. While an infant, 1/4 of a human's height is pure head. Same with Sonic. Of course, he aged, and the rest of his body caught up, just like what happens in humans. Sonic ages, and Mario does not.
Amy:
Honestly, I always thought she was the same, and never really did change. If/when I see her as a before/after thing, then I may be able to testify. Until then, I can't tell the difference.
Miles, and the rest of classic Sonic characters:
Read what I put down for Sonic, because it most probably allpies to the other characters.
Mickey Mouse:
Mickey decided to finally wear contacts upon request from Minnie, giving him full pupils, rather than 3/4 pupils, otherwise known as Pac-man eyes. (At least for me.) Also, the color thing was just a new feature.
Dr.R
As the doctor aged, he too grew taller. Also, with an increased knowledge, Dr.R now has more gadgets inplanted into his suit, explaining the random white spots on his boots. He also got a new "tux" that was different from the one before, but that also protected him better. Remember the rocket boots Dr.R used when he was "trapped" by Antoine? Now Dr.R has much more of that stuff in his suit. The problem is, with so many things in his suit, he often forgets when gadget to use for which situation, and hates to be wrong, so he doesn't risk pressing the wrong button, or saying the wrong command.
I totally made up these excuses, but as far as I can tell, they seem pretty valid. What do you think?
