@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

... It's amazing how this 2 minute short got more right than 60+ episodes.

This is looks So much better than what we got in Sonic X
Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

I read somewhere that there were originally plans to make two separate versions of the show for different audiences in America and Japan. The American one was gonna take place on an alternate or future Earth (similar to our concept of Mobius) while the Japanese version would take place on our modern-day Earth. But due to distribution issues with other companies and overseas localization, as well as production budgets; it was scrapped in favor of adding both ideas into one show.

If this is indeed true, it would certainly explain why there are two different pilot episodes for the show. One in English and the other in Japanese.

I always did wonder why they never went along with this set up. It particularly intrigues me that they included 'civilian' Mobians in this iteration of the show, something they never once really delved into in either Sonic X or the games (something that always irritated me).

In fact about the only problem I ever had with this? Is that it kinda makes it look like Sonic is a hooligan invading an otherwise peaceful city... it takes more to indicate evil than having Eggman sitting in his control room while his cute little servant robots play a game with eachother.

So?? Thats what Sonic does best when Eggman is around

Indeed he is, but that doesn't change the fact that it doesn't really look like Eggman's actually doing anything particularly evil or even vaguely villainous in this pilot. The city is clean, the robots only attack in response to Sonic, and none of the people there seemed opressed or in danger until Sonic shows up. Heck, we aren't even treated to cute little animals being used as robot batteries. You can't just put a bad guy somewhere, have him do nothing and then act as if the hero was doing something heroic by messing up his stuff.

"Crystal Rainbow Stone," eh? Yeah, I think saw one at a yard sale, once.

And, geez. It's true. Sonic is the real menace, in this pilot. Why all the collateral damage? I guess those non-specific animal folks have had it too good for far too long.

Hmm... That could be an interesting premise for some alternate universe; where Eggman's the city's chief of security and Sonic's the city's most wanted fugitive.

ehhh it could work but it wouldn't seem right... unless Eggman is oppressive

Interesting Note: The Sonic OVA was originally supposed to spawn a series....which eventually became the Sonic X project. By the time Sonic X came around the OVA no longer had anything to do with it but still...it's interesting to know they were somewhat connected.

The OVA was ok. It seemed like it was aimed toward an older audience.

Maybe because it was an OVA? And OVA's were/are aimed at a more mature/older audience who had the disposable income to have bought these things on VHS tape back in the day?
'Star Wars' is my story, just like my house is my house. So if I wanna paint my house green, even if everyone else thinks it should be red, guess what? I'm gonna paint it Jar Jar! - George Lucas

"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia

Don't forget that Japan allows dark and edgy material into children shows than in America or the Western World in general. If you disagree please respond.
