But what I was meaning was why are Sonic, Tails and Metal your top three?
I don't really have a reason. Tails, I guess I find really relatable, and I just think Sonic is so cool, I'm sort of envious of him.
Metal, however is effing awesome! I like the overall idea of him, how his programming to be better than Sonic has lead him to insanity. And I also like they way he redeems himself in the OVA.
Also, Metal, in my opinion, is one of the ultimate badasses! For me, he's right up there with Batman, and Jack Skellington.

Personally I never was a Metal fan. The only time I liked him was in the OVA.

Actually Eggman isn't so bad in Adventure and Adventure 2. In Heroes he is a bit weird but in Shadow he's pretty good again.

Thats it. In 2006 still cool, was more evil than mad. After 2006 he was more mad than evil...He is just a clown right now

I like Dr. Eggman. I think his sillier demeanor gives an extra dimension to his character that the darker portrayal seemed to lack.
Why is it that people always think good villains should always be completely dark and scary without any unique gimmicks? I don't see anything wrong with a clownish personality as long as they're still a deadly threat. The Joker is a good example of this, so why is he always excused from the equation?
Personally, I think Eggman's best portrayal was in "Sonic Adventure 1" and "2". It was like the perfect combination of each different portrayal. He was comical and over-the-top (like his AoStH counterpart), benevolent, gimmicky, and quirky (like his portrayal in "Sonic X" and "Sonic Heroes"); and also dark and threatening (similar to his SatAM/Archie and Fleetway portrayals).
You can't get any better than that!

Actually I don't think he shouldn't have a humorous side. However he still needs to seem threatening. In the last few games....I haven't felt threatened by him. Like I said. He needs achieve a small goal so he can seem dangerous again. I mean even Classic Dr. Robotnik found him too goofy.Thats it. In 2006 still cool, was more evil than mad. True. I tend to forget Sonic Unleashed. The Wii version is just terrible. He blew up the world with Super Sonic.
