@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Well, she got disowned, and now has zero contact with her entire family, which is kind of rough for her, too

I mean, kudos to her for escaping the cult; it's nice when anyone can do it, but the deliberate inculcation of hatred from all outsiders and thus the equation of leaving the cult with being cut off from everyone you know is designed to prevent that

Obviously it sucks to be anyone who has to deal with their shit, as well :(

These assholes plan to picket/protest the funeral of those slain in the Sandy Hill Elementary School massacre on December 23 (Funeral is the 23rd). ARE THESE GUYS FUCKING SERIOUS???? Little children were shot and these assholes feel the need to Protest the funeral just so they can be heard and get their damn message out. That fucking crossing too many lines...

Yeah I saw them at comic con in San Diego...4 of them.  Was interesting.

There was also some other group doing it but they weren't all that bad.  You just sorta said "hey guys, nice day"  as you passed.    Where as the crazy church had a police escort and barricades.  Probably cause they told a 8 year old Islamic kid dressed as super man that he was a sin and was going to rot in hell... Yeah the group around them including me got quite...Er.. Police stepped in.  Sadly.

We should form a protest for his funeral.  What's good for the goose...

As one who inadequately bears the name of Christ in this world, I will be glad that a blaspheming charlatan who brings unnecessary rebuke and shame to the name of my Savior has been removed from this world. I do not take pleasure in knowing what awaits the poor man on the other side of eternity, but I will take pleasure in seeing his sacrilege come to an end.

A certainly understandable reaction, and a bit poetic, but it would be just as wrong-headed to do to him as he has done to others. There are certainly those who love him, and the funeral is their time to say goodbye. Repay not evil for evil; expose his works of darkness, do not participate in them, and leave the recompense to the Judge whose name Mr. Phelps has sullied.

"Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" -Matthew 7: 21-23, Jesus.

I'm with Bram, it is time to turn the other cheek be what they are not. The people who hate back are no different. Different sides of the track...same road to Hell. Why waste your free time focusing on this? Be positive and enjoy and be thankful your life rather than morbidly obsess over this old, feeble false prophet's death. Let's just step over his grave rather than stand on it, moving on to better things. Hell will be twice as hellacious for him already ( look up James 3:1). Nothing you can do can trump his eternal tribulation. All you will manage to do is get an ulcer all over nothing.

"Don't gloat when your enemy falls, and don't let your heart rejoice when he stumbles." -

Question is how much longer will his institution last?

A petition to keep up to a third of the characters in the sonic comics from being lost forever.

Not long...historically such groups never do. They fracture after the loss of their headship in a divisive power struggle. Seeing this one is so small and reactivist (not to mention anti-evangelical due to their heresy of sub/hypercalvanism) I don't see much coming from them seeing they ignore The Great Commision. As Paul said himself "How can they hear without a preacher?" If you don't evangelize you fossilize (thank God in this case).

Again, my above advice goes to you, man. Don't harp on this too much. This ilk not worth it. Relishing his death is just as evil as his actions. Responding to bigotry with bigotry, lest the world become more bigoted. The more focus we give such groups, the more power we give them.

I liked how a commenter on CNN said. Why not all the LGBT community and everyone that was hurt by that church's actions get together en masse and pay their respects in a Christian manner. I think that would be a wonderful gesture.

Unfortunately there is a problem with that. Mr. Phelps' unkind and socially unacceptable behavior is not his biggest fault. It is blasphemy; his life's work is one in violation of the Third Commandment, to not take God's name in vain. By associating himself and his life's work with the name of Jesus, he has declared himself a representative of Him to the world. Understandably, there will be times where the philosophies of Christianity will be at odds with others. However, to bring reproach to the name of Jesus for one's own positions, to put words into the mouth of God by saying what you are doing is by His Word and Will is a blasphemy that God will not excuse.

On the other hand, it would be a mockery for the LGBT community to attempt to pay respects in a Christian manner. If they let his family mourn without issue or quietly allow him to pass on, then that is fine. But to "play the Christian part" to sarcastically mock Mr. Phelps would make them just as guilty as he, both in mean-spiritedness and in blasphemy. God will not be mocked, either by those who claim to represent Him in this world, like Mr. Phelps, or by those trying to use Him to make a point, like the LGBT groups.

Better to be watchful and pray that we do not fall into such a sorry state as Mr. Phelps.

Just remember: Fred Phelps almost became Governor of Kansas and a US Senator....

We all dodged bullets with that
