@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Diamond Comics Halts Production on Knuckles Archives Vol. 3

Diamond Comic Distributors, the world’s largest English language comic book distributor, has halted shipments of Archie Comics’s Knuckles Archives #3 to retailers on the basis of a copyright infringement notice sent to the company.

A source who requested anonymity through told TSSZ the hold was granted this week, and alleged more claims may be filed with Diamond shortly.  Those claims, the source said, are based on copyrights currently in dispute between Archie Comics and former Sonic comics writer Ken Penders via a civil lawsuit the former filed.

This issue, which assembles the original Sonic’s Friendly Nemesis Knuckles issues ten through fifteen, will still go on sale today at stores that have received their copies, but they will be the only copies circulating in certain stores right now.  That potentially means the release could fall into short supply while the matter is mediated.  For the moment, only distribution of Knuckles Archives #3 is affected, but one can imagine the array of re-issues that could be impacted, given the scope of Penders’s copyright claims that are, as of this article’s publication, still legally valid.

Diamond Comics claims Archie Comics as an “exclusive supplier” of material for distribution to stores, according to the company website.  In layman’s terms, they are the middleman between Archie as content creator and many stores that sell their comics, in particular comic book specialty stores.  Should the matter linger, all Sonic Archives and Knuckles Archives releases could see their distribution affected, as could the long awaited Sonic comic encyclopedia, which is due for release next month.

Stay tuned for further developments.

Seriously......

I don't see how stopping the publication is going to really do anything other then tick off fans.

Perhaps Penders believes bad publicity is better than none.

Well that actually usually works for celebrities.

Maybe if he was like Stan Lee he's have like 5% chance of it coming out good for him.

With the attitude he's been demonstrating, I wouldn't be surprised if Ken saw himself as a celebrity of sorts.

Yeah. Pretty much. Sad thing is that he's probably go more fame from this then his whole career.

Ken was a celebrity to me when I was a kid. Now I just realize he's a massive dork who somehow managed to wind up as a head writer on a comic book.

the way i see it, Ken just dug himself a deeper hole that I don't think he'll find the way out of, cause it'll just keep getting deeper and deeper

And the award for 'Biggest Douche On The Planet' 2012 goes to Ken Penders.

This will certainly cause some problems in locating this book once the first batch sell out, especially since sites like Amazon and other retailers won't be selling it till October 2nd and if they can't get any copies, tracking this book could be very hard. It's already sold out on eBay and if the cease of distribution remains, copies could start selling for top dollar.

Indeed. We must provide him with a Golden Turd trophy. However, unlike other's of its ilk, THIS trophy shall be a real turd, preferably a fresh one, spraypainted gold. It will be delivered while he is walking the street, via a drive by turd toss, hopefully allowing his reward to strike him on the head (against the face if we're lucky). Such is a fitting display of how he is now viewed by the fanbase of the comic he once worked on, and of his overall worth as a human being.

He still has his fanboys. But we're probably taking about 12 people in total. Although in Ken's mind, that's probably more then enough to convince him he is still top shit. He probably thinks for every fan he knows of, there must be a million others he doesn't.

I can't believe he doesn't realize by now he's angering a lot of fans. Perhaps he thinks he's going to make up for it and that's why he justifies it but he really can't be so stupid that he doesn't notices he's driving fans away.....

I think he knows the fans are pissed off, or maybe he figures the ones who are pissed off weren't really his fans in the first place. In any case, I think he doesn't really care, though he's forgetting to ask himself the question, "If everyone hates me, who's going to read my new comic?" Bigger stars have fallen over far less. (Just the other day I read about how Chuck Austen's career was ruined over a single plot point in an X-Men story. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it was a definite turning point.)

Nah. Ken is much more insidious than Chris. You know Chris is a nut from the outset. Ken tricked people into thinking he was normal.
