@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

I've been thinking this over for a while and I finally concocted a list of various voice actors I'd like to hear sometime (or return) in another Sonic show:

Sonic the Hedgehog – James Arnold Taylor

Bunnie Rabbot / Charmy Bee – Tara Strong

Antoine Depardieu / Mighty the Armadillo / Dr. Finitevus – Rob Paulsen

Rotor the Walrus – Jess Harnell

Manic the Hedgehog – Jason Marsden

Sonia the Hedgehog / Rouge the Bat – Tress MacNeille

NICOLE / Lupe the Wolf – Cree Summer

Sir Charles – David Ogden Stiers

Dr. Robotnik / Dingo – Jim Cummings

Snively / Nack the Weasel – Charlie Adler

Knuckles the Echidna – John DiMaggio

Espio the Chameleon / Ari the Ram – Phil LaMarr

Big the Cat – Bill Fagerbakke

Shadow the Hedgehog – Dante Basco

E102 Gamma / Orbot – Cory Burton

Sleet the Wolf / Swatbots – Maurice LaMarche

Bean the Dynamite Duck / Ixis Naugus – Tom Kenny

Fiona Fox – Grey DeLisle

Mephiles – Clancy Brown

Any characters I might've skipped (Sally, Tails, Amy, Cream, ect.) were ones I haven't decided yet. This list was harder than it looks.

I love my God, my wife, my 5 kids, and I like my guns, my beer, my whiskey, and my pickup.

I dislike politicians, policemen, diet foods, no-smoking signs, and mowing the lawn.

I like Sonic games from the Genesis days, tolerate the Sonic Adventure series, can stomach Sonic Heroes, and can't stand the rest.

And there is only one true story of Sonic, SatAM.

It's hard for me to think of SatAM without the original voice actors, although I do like your selections, especially David Ogden Stiers and Tara Strong. Although for me Sally will always need Kath Soucie as voice actor. Also Maxey Whitehead could do a pretty good Tails. Even though I dislike the character I think for Amy Lisa Ortiz did a pretty good job.

Holy crap! Taylor has talent!

With energy and enthusiasm like that, he'd make the perfect Sonic if ever given the role.

When choosing the voices, I had to think of certain characters who's personas matched closely to certain Sonic characters. For example, with Shadow the Hedgehog, I thought of Dante Bosco and his role of Zuko from "Avatar: the Last Airbender"; and for Big the Cat, I thought of Patrick Star in "Spongebob Squarepants" played by Bill Fagerbakke.

But since some characters' depictions have changed since then, some may have to play the role slightly different. For example, Dr. Eggman isn't as darkly portrayed as he once was back in SatAM; so Jim Cumming's deep, sinister voice wouldn't be prominently used as much. Instead, he could play the role in a slightly lighter and more sillier manner, similar to his roles as Pete in the "Mickey Mouse" cartoons or Fat Cat from "Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers".

Heck, guy could probably pull of the whole cast...

I am looking into his stuff in hopes to learn somethings about voice acting. I plan to narrate EoT (my fan-fic). So if I have to do any voices myself, he is the one to learn the skill from. Sonic is 18 in it, so I am wondering how an 18 year old Sonic should sound. Ideas?

His current voice actor makes him sound about that age, so something similar to that tone could probably work for an older Sonic.

Roger Craig Smith?

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

Sonic should be Billy West.

I actually agree with that; that man can do a variety of voices.

I've been to many anime conventions and have asked and heard people ask voice actors, (Chuck Huber, Darrel Guilbeau, John Swasey, Stephanie Sheh, and Tiffany Grant), how to become a voice actor and I've always heard the same response: "To be a voice actor you should first learn to act."

Exactly. Have you ever seen them in the booths? They act there hearts out. The voice changes with the subtlest of movements. A closed fist, a jutting chest, a gritted jaw, all these things change the tone of your voice.

The three I met that were the most entertaining were Chuck Huber, Darrel Guilbeau, John Swasey. John Swasey in particular was funny as heck, he showed us how he enacted fight scenes by moving his body all over the place, but keeping his head still, which was a trick. He played Lord Death in Soul Eater and Salvidor in the video game Borderlands 2 to name a few. He said his favourite line of all time, which got cut came from that game. Whilst firing two huge guns he said "It's like having three D**ks!" LOL

Where I do Let's Plays, I have had some great oppurtunity to dabble with the craft. A lot of my pals say I could pull it off.

I might try to do more of my own voice work in my future projects.

Here's a fun game! Let's list off celeberties and voice actors that ought not voice certain Sonic characters in any serious situation but would work awesome in a surreal parody (bonus points for comedy and voice/vid clips)!

Mine First.  Chris's grandpa - Chrisopher Walkin.
