@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Its super Mario X, where mario eats magic pasta to defeat the evil bowser! With trusty Luigi by his side, he can accomplish anything, teaching children their abcs and throwing bowser down holes full of mattresses! Save the princess and get the lie...I mean the cake!

Luigi, lets-a eat a magic mushroom pasta so we can become bigger to defeat Bowser!
But mario, why not eating a fire flower spicy pizza so we can shoot-a fireballs spicy balls?

I'm not sure Mario and Luigi have ever eaten fire flowers. In the cartoons (which are admittedly non-canon these days) they just gained the powers by touching them. I also had a couple of children's books where fire flowers basically acted as flamethrowers -- you carry them around and the fire comes out of them. But I don't recall ever seeing them eat one.

Some people say Mario and Luigi spit fire balls after gaining fire power, some say they throw them.

The Nintendo Adventure Books have them do both.

If they spit them, I think it would make more sense to be eaten.

The "spit" theory would make a lot more sense if Mario and Luigi didn't move their arms whenever they threw them.

But luigi has "lightning balls" according to many instruction books and manuals! That's moar confusing!

Yeah but people still believe they hit their heads on the blocks to break them even though they've used their hands since the first game.

How come Mario never got a new cartoon, anyway? Super Mario World was way back in 1991. That's before AoStH and SatAM even aired!

One of the big reasons I believe is because that cartoon was absolutely atrocious.

The episodes were repetitive and boring(teaching the brainless cave people how to do stuff for example) the voice acting was beyond laughable. And worse yet, every single episode included a horrid, nail on the chalkboard musical number

I swear, the guy who did the main lead for those songs made me disgusted enough to want to rip out his tongue. He was THAT BAD at singing. Be as that may though, when Super Mario RPG came out back in 1996, I thought they might make an animated show from it since it was such a blockbuster of a game.

Of course, looking back on it, I'm glad they didn't. It'd probably be worse than the Donkey Kong Country show, knowing Mario's luck in cartoon business.

As a kid the very few episodes I saw were great.

Looking back now not so much.

But Sonic Underground also suffered from nail-on-chalkboard songs and bad voice acting. They still made more Sonic cartoons.

Yeah, and Sonic X is around when Sega started making bad Sonic games, too. Their judgment is not the best. :P

Actually, Sonic X came out about a year before Sonic's downward spiral which is Sonic Heroes(2004). Which ironically, that gave me permanent interest on the Sonic franchise thanks to the re introduction of the Chaotix. Not that I bought the game. I seen Sonic before in trailers of SatAM and AoStH in VHS and snipets of Sonic X, but it didn't gave me permanent interest.

Again Sonic X has flaws...but quite a few of those flaws are because the guy translating never played the games, watched the cartoons, or read the comics. So things came across weird sometimes because it was outta character or just plain stupid.

That and Sonic had a laid back not caring personality for 90 percent of the show.

That was rather irksome. Even with the poor translation, I would've enjoyed it more had Sonic not been an indifferent douche most of the time.

Other then Chris I think that had to be the biggest problem.

Sonic rarely seemed to care one way or the other. Never really got mad, sad, happy, he was always bored.

The irony is, I also liked cartoon during my childhood. I find that quite odd looking back on that.

At least SU's singers though were more tolerable to listen to. Yea, they were pretty bad, don't get me wrong, but the main lead who did the songs for the Super Mario World was just horrible.

Like this one for example Ugh! Makes you want to grind your teeth.

Sonic rarely seemed to care one way or the other. Never really got mad, sad, happy, he was always bored.

I noticed that too. Even Tails alot of the time acted like he didn't give a crap about stuff. When he saw Sonic was frozen in space, he just shrugged his shoulders basically about it, not once ever thinking he might be seriously hurt.

When I was a kid, I actually liked SMW the most out of the Mario shows. Now that I'm an adult, I'm a bit mystified by how I liked any of them.
