@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

How can you not like the 243 cover? Plus, we finally see the Metal Series in action.

I just wonder how the events of 241 will lead in to this. Apparently, something big is suppose to happen that involves Mecha Sally... Still, the description says "Team Fighters," so unless they add some new members it looks like we may still have everybody separated (or they may have just left it as "Team Fighters" to avoid spoilers). Just going by the cover of 241, I would have thought that the entire team joined together... but you know what can happen if you judge a book by its cover... :awesome:

241 involving Metal Sally was a mistaken paraphrasing, it is a big event but not about her.

Personally, these metal versions should have been apart of the action immediately after Eggman introduced them.

Why have them as part of the story if they were just going to sit around for 6 months?

Yea, I saw that on another board after making that post, haha. I guess it could still involve her, but she won't be the main reason of it.

Anyway, apparantly there is some Metal Series action in 240. Still took a while before they were used (besides Metal Sonic and Mecha Sally of course), maybe it will explain it in the issue.

Ya know, one thing I don't understand is why they print the Sonic Legacy collections in black and white. Perhaps they wanted to give it somewhat of a manga vibe. But it feels like a downgrade, to me.

It is a downgrade, they use cheaper paper and black and white so they can sell the book at a way lower price per page. That's why Sonic Legacy can have four times the content while costing a dollar or two more than a Sonic Archive.

According to the editor Paul Kaminski from Archie Sonic Wiki, Sonic Legacy is suppose to compete in the black and white comic book market. I have heard from Linkara that the black and white comic book market, aside manga never had a good record in the US. I guess this series is faster because it collects more issues per volume, but it really is unnecessary.

I can't keep track of all the stuff going around right now... you have the Archives, Legacy, Super Special Magazine, Sonic Universe trade paperback, Sonic Select, Sonic Saga Series, and the Best of Sonic... and don't forget about the Sonic Encyclopedia and upcoming Sonci Super Digest!

That's not including the regular series and Sonic Universe. That's a lot of Sonic stuff going around. I don't know if we have overkill, or if it's helping the hedgehog become more popular in the casual comic/graphic novel crowd.

Archie currently have nine, yes NINE seperate reprint titles for Sonic comics at the moment.

Let that sink in again.

Nine.

And only three titles that publish new material. Hell, you can really say just two with the ongoing series and Universe. Super Special magazine, while it has new content is mostly a reprint thing.

Once again, nine out of eleven Sonic titles put out by Archie are reprints.

Nine.

And Sonic fans are suckers to buy them all.

Because Archie loves our money.

"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia

If people weren't buying them, Archie wouldn't be putting out so many. These things have gotta be selling well for Archie to have a total of nine reprint titles out on the shelves or planned for the future. Hell, I wouldn't put it past them to do a manga version which you have to read from right to left.

Yes but DIFFERENT PEOPLE would be buying them. People who buy Sonic Archives aren't necessarily expected to buy Sonic Legacy, Sonic Super Special Magazine isn't for the same people as Sonic Selects, Sonic Encyclopedia isn't an archive at all, the Super Digest is just another Super Special Magazine for posters... it's way more complicated than just eleven different titles being put out and expecting people to buy all of them.
