@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

So...anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed How To Train Your Dragon. There were some disappointments on character personality for me in general, but I did have fun watching the movie. Toothless made the entire show--teehee. Anyway...

Cartoon Network is hosting a TV series called Dragons: Riders of Berk based off the original film. What do you think? The animation and designs look interesting, but as a show to capture audiences outside of its age range, do you think it might be as popular as MLP? Of course, all shows have that possibility, but based on the trailer, what are your initial thoughts about the series?

My initial thoughts are "This is gonna suck".

The Movie is actually based of a book series. Which they probably won't follow...

Also I didn't like the How To Train Your Dragon Short about the bone dragon. Funny yes...but other then a few jokes...not nearly as good as the movie. So it's off to a rocky start as is.

Of course I'll still watch the first episode before I make my decision

tbh...I really don't mind if they don't follow the book series exactly, but I can understand how it might turn crappy if it doesn't--cause I've been there. I guess if they don't follow the book series at all, it would be a waste of effort because I think it's terrible that the basis for the TV show (so far) is going to be encountering new dragons, and just training them. I want a teaser for different plot elements.

I'm going to check out the series regardless. I want to see what they do with it, and I'll probably end up watching three episodes to see what it's about before deciding if I actually want to be interested in it.

btw, not to change subject, but I like your avatar and signature. Did you make it? :o

I also think Dreamworks might put more effort into this series because they learned their lesson from that Kung Fu Panda crap on Nickelodeon. -_- Personally, it turned out horrible in my opinion.

Like RedAuthar, I wasn't the biggest fan of "Legend of the Bone Knapper Dragon", and like quirkybear I thought "Kung-Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness" was decent but ultimately didn't work. I AM, however, a big fan of the HTTYD movie itself, and I think the series' preview was pretty good. Not perfect, mind, but it generally felt like it managed to capture the movie's sensebilities well enough, and it's well-written, well-animated, and well-performed (thanks mostly to most of the Movie Cast reprising their respective roles). I think this series is definitely off to a promising start.

The Movie is actually based of a book series.

Very loosely. In fact you'd struggle to find a connection beyond character names. For starters, Toothless is 20x his original size in the film and he's a mystical super dragon that has no apparent limit to how many times he can shoot eploding fireballs, whereas he's a little garden variety dragon in the book.

Several peopl have mentioned Legend of the Bone Knapper Dragon, but has anyone seen the other two shorts? I have seen Gift of the Night Fury and didn't think a great deal of it. It's actually rather odd. The dragon breeding season lasts for about a week.

I've been meaning to see "Gift of the Night Fury" and "Book of Dragons", but after "Legend of the Bone-Knapper Dragon" kind of underwhelmed me, I didn't think they were worth buying, and I don't know any other way to see 'em.

I'll consider it, but I confess to being not the biggest fan of YouTubing movies or TV Shows, not only for legal reasons but also the simple matter that I dislike the small screen I have to watch them on if I want the frame rate to be even a little Not Dreadful. xD;

Let's face it, they were only made to make money by riding the coat tails of the film. They weren't meant to be Oscar winners.
