Voices.
I am so, so tired of big budget studios going for celebrity or ordinary guy voices instead of professional voice actors. People who actually know how to sound like, y'know, cartoon characters. Think of all the great voices you've heard in cartoons over the years: Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson, Prof. Farnsworth, Zoidberg, Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Space Ghost (the Coast to Coast version)... I could go on forever. Even Tim Allen did a great job as Buzz Lightyear, but eventually some exec thought "celebrity voice + epic movie = big bucks" and they stopped bothering finding ones who actually sound like cartoon characters. You look at the Villains Anonymous (whatever they call it) scene and all the cartoony voices are from people other than Ralph -- you know, the guys the film isn't actually about. I guess they feel the need to give an ordinary voice to an "everyman" personality, but it isn't as if I'm unable to relate to everyman characters like Philip J. Fry who actually do have cartoony voices.
I'm sure I'll see it anyway, but come on, guys, is it so hard to make cartoons that are actually like cartoons?

I doubt they'll recognize Q*bert, but Pac-Man even has a new cartoon on the way....I think they'll get the ghost reference.BTW, this thought struck me the other day: how many kids are not gonna know any of the classic video game references? Like when the ghost turns blue -- will kids know where that comes from? And will they have the slightest idea who Q*bert is?

Well, this is eye-popping for hard core Pac-Man fans since ghosts are Pac-Man's enemies.Nope. Found out the Ghosts are intended to be his friends in high school.
