Exactly. And like I said in my post I'm talking about Variants in general. I never really liked them in any comic series. Sure some look impressive....but again....not worth buying another issue or paying extra for the collector's cover.I'm kinda hoping Archie stop with these variant covers because I really don't see a need for Archie to do them. They don't seem to have a set plan for them, just tossing them out randomly and the variants seem to range from "meh" to poor. I could see WHY they did the variant for #225 since it was a milestone, and I guess the convention covers, but the rest? Naaaah. The obvious reason is to sell more copies to the collectors who have to have them, but seriously, if you are gonna do them, put some effort in.

225 Sketch - Great! Milestone issue and the variant actually fit in very well with the story.
229 and SU 41 sketches - Made for the conventions, so I'm all for them. Also had a limited print run, so it gave hardcore collectors something to go after.
230 Game Variant - Starting to get a bit out of hand here. No need for two consecutive issues with variants, especially since it's only a variant for a very short story leading in to a game.
SU 42 SEGA Variant - Not sure why we need this one, and it starts to make the variants lose their luster
Sonic 240 Variant - Although I like it, having other variants appearing so close together take away from it. I can understand it being the 20th anniversary of Sonic 2, but the only thing Sonic 2 on there is Tails anyway. If we didn't have the 230 or 241 variant, this would would have fit nicely.
Sonic 241 Variant - Not needed. Plus, why would you feature the painted issues on the previous two comics, then move it over to a variant? That's kind of like saying "These were the best we could do on these, but now that we are back on track we'll go ahead and finish the series, but just as a variant." Again, we have consecutive variants.
I would say maybe one variant a year for each comic series (not counting convention issues) would be more than fine.
