@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Im seeing the images of the previews of the comics that FUS news robot is posting, and catch my attention, but I never read a comic of Sonic, only I read 1 chapter of a random comic I dont remember.

The doubt is I saw a mega post on Taringa some months ago showing all the comics (I dont remember but I remember some comics about one character, tails or knuckles or I dont know..some about the series, other news)...well, the point is I remember there is a loot of comics about sonic, and like newbye reader...I dont know where I should start reading.

Can someone bring me light explaining a bit all the comics, or any web where I can find information or where I should start reading?

Thanks in advance :P

If you're looking for information, the Mobius Encyclopedia is the most comprehensive place to look. It'll tell you everything, about everybody. But since the series is big, that still leaves you without some direction, right? Well, my advice would really be to just jump in around 160, 165 or 171 and simply read the comics. The situation is simple enough (Sonic and friends fight against Eggman and some other baddies) that you should be able to catch the rest as you go along. There are a couple websites where you can find back issues for uh... lower than standard prices AHEM, but just to be nice you should probably buy what you can. It's good stuff!
Also if you want, the first fifty issues are fun stuff. They're not all gold and you don't HAVE to read any of them, but they help establish the characters and they're moderately entertaining and creative.

All the US Sonic Comics.

There is another one called "Sonic the Comic" which is completely unrelated.

Also the first 8 issues of the US Sonic Comic are considered Non-Canon as they were mostly just goofy, though they are still fun reads. They do get referenced a lot, but because of their goofy nature most of the events are only half-true.

Don't read the Sonic X series. There are a couple gems in there, but for the most part it's really bad. Sonic Universe is a good read, and StH works nicely too. If you just want a relaxed start, go with the early goofy stuff. No problem for answers.

Sorry for be stupid, but what mean "goofy"? The first time I see this word, and cant translate to my own language, can you explain me this word or one synonymous?

I want at the moment like you said, a relaxed start. I have finals soon, and I must do a lot of things, so I only want something for read in my few free time, thats why mini-series catch my attention.

Sorry...didn't think about that. Here are some alternatives.

silly
crazy, daffy, dippy, ditzy, dopey, dotty, empty-headed, flaky*, foolish, idiotic, kooky, nutty, screwy, stupid, wacky*, weird

Oh yes. As RedAuthar shows, by goofy I mean funny and silly. The first fifty issues or so are probably the most relaxed start you can get, so I would start with them and then just skip ahead whenever you get bored of them.

Thanks, I understand now. You never go to bed without having learnt something new.

I have 2 more questions:

1st: You know any web online where I can buy them compare prices...etc etc.?I check the official store, but miss some books, like the mini-series... The funniest thing is when you are looking something for buy it, and you only found pages about download the comic YAAAAR!

2nd: Is "legal" buy them, scan them, and upload to youtube edited from spanish comunity?. My first and fast think is illegal, but I saw some sonics comics uploaded on youtube....so...I dont know if I can or not.

If you're not making money with it, I think you can make it without trouble. Want some help? I once did Issue 0 of the Miniseries, but I got tired (it's tiring work for just one, believe me). If you want to do it, I know a place to download it, which I hope won't go offline since it isn't Mediafire, Rapidshare or something like that.

Buying it will be difficult. I don't know if they're shipped anywhere outside the USA... if you want to edit it, having a good scan is a good idea (apart from having it original).

When I used to read them, I made a reading order for myself including StH, the miniseries, the KtE series, Sonic Universe... everything. But I think I lost it. I'll check. I did it using Mobius Encyclopaedia though.

Uploading Sonic comics onto Youtube is technically illegal. Looking the other way might be necessary though considering how hard back issues can be to find, and your location.

Technically uploading any copyrighted material on Youtube is frowned on. But probably the worse that will happen is it'll get pulled from circulation.

There are some tricks to prevent it from being deleted.
Or you could just share the complete comic somewhere else, instead of in a video.

I think too is illegal, but people still have videos uploaded about the comics, so must be a way to "evade" that rule...I really dont know. I will try make one and upload...like Red said, nothing more than remove for circulation will hapens, so is ok. I think just for test I will take a miniserie and post it...lets see what hapens. There is 12509503259 millions of sites for download the comics, I wanted have them original, but while I get some money, I can try with one downloaded

About the dificult of translate a comic, I really dont know...never did, but I think is more easy than a video of 20 min, All Sonic SatAM chapters take me 6-6:30 hours...set timming and bla bla bla....I think is a little more easy a comic, but well...lets see :P

The way to evade the rule is to not be noticed. If you're looking to buy the old comics, the Sonic Archives are very convenient.

I saw the wiki, is like a recopilation of old comics rigth?

Rigth now, I can see all the importants comics, the problem are the specials, like miniseries...I was looking for the one of tails, but I only found one way to buy it: ebay or amazon :| . Thats why im asking if someone know pages who sell the comics, or I'm forced to found one seller :\

EDIT: I made the first page of Tails miniseries. Is my first time, so I dont know really how do it.

Can you say me if is good enough, or what would change.
