Some serious thanks are in due for people who helped me with the novel. Longtime member Kain Blackwood served as editor, along with Wingless Rain @ ff.net. Both provided invaluable suggestions and serious encouragement during the long process, but only Kain is super-cool.

SHOUT OUTS to all the "darkfic" writers that hung out here and @ ff.net in the 00s, including Stoobing/Sean Catlett, Stephen Zacharus, Wingless Rain and cornwallace. In particular, major portions of the novel ripped off styles and ideas from Sean Catlett's Sonic: Sketchy and Catlett and Zacharus' collaboration Reflections. Both of those stories are well worth reading if you can track them down.

And of course, the piece wouldn't have been written without the whole FUS community; knowing that there are people who appreciate this old show as much as oneself makes writing something like this endurable. Thanks very much, and I hope you enjoy.

And thank you Chief, although I don't know about getting the old-school writers in here. We were all really, really mean to Sonic and his friends. After all we put him through, he kind of deserves to take it easy.

Congrats, Fish! It's sort of strange knowing that I won't be seeing anymore chapters coming from your way, but it's been a great four (five?) years. And yes, you writers are monsters; all those people ever wanted was to not be robots and live relatively maim-free lives in an agrarian utopia, but that's just asking TOOO much, isn't it?

To any who haven't checked it out, the story's amazing and it's a privilege knowing that I had a small (VERY SMALL) hand in helping it come together. Again, congratulations, Fish and thanks.
