Hello guys.

Is embarrasing ask help on my first post on this forum, but im desesperated, and "googleing" I found this forum.

Like most of the people on this forum, Im a great fan of Sonic, and specially on SatAM. Unluckily, not all the people can enjoy this great cartoon. On Spain, the second season (14~26) didnt release, only we have the chapters 1~13, so I decide to subtitle the second season for all the Spanish comunity...I can understand english, but not all the people can.There was some links about spanish versions, but all was on megavideo/upload.

After decide this task, I found the first problem, There is not subtitles or something like that. I can understand easily write english, but I hardly understand vocal english, because if I miss some word, I cant understand the whole paragraph, and of course for subtitle I must translate all the words. Furthermore, I miss some stock phrases or for example, the franc-english of some Antoine's words.

Anyway, "googleing", I could find some .mx chapters (very similar to Spanish), but only chapter (17~26) and helping with .mx, I can understand 90% of the whole chapter.

So I decide to make this thread.

I asking for some voluntiers who can waste some minutes, every 2 or 3 days (im bussy rigth now and take me 2 or 3 days every chapter), for help me translate and subtitle this great cartoon. I really apreciate your help, and of course I will thanks all the comunity on every video I upload on youtube.

I have already uploaded the chapter 17 "blast to the past part1".with youtube subtitles (easy editable)... If someone want start I can post the video here and I will say you 4 or 5 phrases I missed (is only write me the 5 phrases and I translate to Spanish). At the moment, the video is not public, I will make public after the all the subtitles are fixed.

If what you are looking for are Transcripts of the episodes for translation you can find those here http://www.sonicsatam.com/media/169-2/ We were actually in the process of helping a French group translate and sub SatAM with those transcripts.

I know all the episodes aren't up there quite yet, only up to 16. But we toss a new one up every week, so they should all be done in the coming weeks.


Only thing I ask is that FUS gets credit for the scripting process.

Sorry if doble post is not allowed, but no one answer and im not sure if I must do it here. But I have a doubt:

On chapter 14, "game guy"

Antoine start reading this 'poem' quoted by the transcripter:

ANTOINE: Magnifique! My princess Sally, I’m seeing my love for you is like a huge
fungo salad, my little tomato… You are the onions of my eyes… The gray
flowers of my ear… The cucumber…

Im not sure but what he say: "the gray flowers of my ear" or "the couliflowers of my ears" because Im translating it and Imo he is saying the second one.(i can hear "kouli", but not gouli) I would aprecciate if someone can check this sentence

Can I use this post for doubts and help about some sentences?

Technically there is no rule about double posts. Just don't make too many of them.

Due to him saying it was a salad, I would assume it was cauliflower.

Im using the transcript you share on this post and are making me very easy translate to my own lenguage (Esp). In thanks, I want help it upgrading if I find something wrong while im translating (like the cauliflower). Thats why I want some site for write my doubts, like this post.

I like how "Robuttnik" became "Burrotnik". I didn't expect that to be translatable.

("Burro" means "donkey" for all you monolinguals out there. )

I didnt saw the first season on spanish 100% long time ago, but I think on spanish Sonic call him Burrotnik or something like that, Is easy on english with Robotnik and Robutnik, but on spanish we dont have a flame with similar sound, and I dont know why Burrotnik come to my mind, I think Sonic call him like that on 1st season, or maybe was on .mx chapters, but I doubt about second, because they call Robotnik "Mostachón" xDD

I've been doing my own project too. I'm in 2x02 right now. I was doing it trial audio (Spanish-English-Latin Spanish + Subs) for Season 1, and dual audio (English-Latin Spanish+Subs) for Season 2.

I translated "Robuttnik" as "Rebuznik" because it was the name used. "Burrotnik" was used in AoStH, and "Rebuznik" in SatAM.

Yeah, I was checking all the Spanish chapters on 1 season and checking Robuttniks on the transcript , looks like they are trying to evade this word

on about 11 Robuttniks they said:

6 Robotnik
2 Burrotnik
1 Rebuznik
1 Egg Head
1 Directly evade the word and delete

Imo I will use some of them, mixing them.

And yeah, you have reason Hammer, I finished AoStH 1 month ago. Thats why Burrotnik come to my mind faster than Rebuznik xDD

Well, my project rigth now is only sub Eng & Esp(España) the second season. Nice to read you Hammer, now we can compare translations If we have doubts

I'm not a native Spanish speaker, but I do speak it as a second language. :3 Unfortunately the dubbed episodes are still too difficult for me to understand, though. I'd be able to understand 'em with Spanish subtitles, but when it's just audio, I get lost pretty fast.

Hahaha, I understand you...I was trying to subtitle to Spanish with only English audio...I miss 3/5 phrases...If you dont know one word, you are f**ked xDDDDD.
When you say here: Hey, we have transcript, is like oh god thanks but still have problems with the damn stock phrases. For example...how can you translate: jelly & jam time!....dafuq is that .
Every time I think: "I was trying to sub with only audio", I laugh myself because reading the transcript, I failed 60% of the words xDDD

In Burrotnik is like you say, is like calling him donkey.

Edit: I found another insignificant error.

On 15 "Sonic Conversion" about end of 2 page of pdf. Bonnye say: Well I…oh my stars, look at this. ALRIGHT, THE BUNNIE BOD IS BACK...you miss a "Y" on Bod"Y" . I know is insignificant and irrelevant, but Im just saying for let you know. I copy/paste phrase by phrase, so can make fail if people dont notice it.

When saying things like "No biggie" it sorta like saying "no big deal" or "de nada"

I translated "no biggie" as "nada serio", and "take me to his royal dopiness" as "llevadme ante su real IMBECILIDAD"

oh, btw, also in Sonic conversion, you'll find another mistake in the transcript: when Chuck is transporting Antoine and Tails, there is a moment when Antoine speaks, in the transcript it only says "histeric rambling" but, thanks to bakuda, I got the whole sentence Antoine says: "Or maybe some nice fruit tart to keep your eyes red. They're so creepy when they're red!". In the .mx version, Antoine said "churros con chocolate" XDDD

I remember when I translated blast to the past 1... The sentence was something like: He speak rarely... Mexican translate to: El habla como Cantinflas. Epic.
