@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Then what happens they don't change its own quo for a long time and people get tired of it?

I never said don't change anything.

But when something is working, why mess with it?

Maybe tinker with things here and there for a change of pace, but it has to be done with caution. Sometimes, changes makes things worse.

If that's the case, why is everyone so riled up with Sally being roboticized or the Freedom Fighters' loosing streak? This "tinkering with things here and there" is pretty much the same as this "playing God" thing everyone accuses Ian for doing. If you're the writer, you're the one who decides what happens.

Antoine won't be dead forever. He'll be back. This is how comics work you know.

Oh, the power of suggestion...
*fights a sudden urge to draw Antione as a zombie*
...
*realizes how cool that could look*
...
*manages to suppress that urge in spite of the coolness factor*

Maybe Laser doesn't like this change and also doesn't realize that "playing God" is kinda like you're the writer, you're the one decides what happens?

The thing is though, Ian has done more than just tinkering here.

I mean, had he only roboticized Sally and have Naugus become king of New Mobotropolis, that would have been tolerable.

But on top of that, he's had Bunnie crystallized and then deroboticized in the most ridiculous of ways, Sally weaponized, Antoine blasted by a robot suicide bomber and New Mobotropolis blown up.

I'm sorry, that is WAY MORE than just tinkering.

Actually, Tracy Yardley is the one who blow up New Mobotropolis and technically the city didn't really blow up entirely, just the palace. Unless you're talking about Titan Metal Sonic 2.0.

Actually, Eggman fixing Sally up with some weapons made sense to me. I mean, if you're going to roboticize the princess of the resistance, you'd at least want her to be deadlier. It makes it harder to combat one who was a friend or loved one.

Ok, deadlier I have no problem with.

But why wasn't that deadliness used in the extent of using her knowledge of what she knew about Eggman's enemies to his advantage?

Or if Eggman really was capable of this kind of technology, why wasn't it used for his other robots too?

I mean, why just stop with Sally? Why not do it with Metal and Silver Sonic III too if he truly can make robots this deadly?

This is another thing that really irks me about Ian's latest story: The vast inconsistencies.

It's like the head writer makes stuff up on the fly about what Eggman can really do.

That and the fact he makes hoverboards appear out of nowhere and then doesn't give the Freedom Fighters weapons to fight with to protect the Acorn family either.

Seriously, who does that on a mission to protect a royal family?

Metal Sonic is on Metal Sally's level. As was Silver Sonic III. And Omega. And lots of his bots, really. IF you're going to ask why they don't bring some big guns to protect the Acorn family, you might as well ask why they didn't bring them on every mission ever.

Maybe Ian Flynn never thought of that.
Because Sally is the Freedom Fighters' weakness at this point.

Was that confirmed though in the comic?

And even if it was, why would they just leave them there?

It doesn't make any sense.

The Armada was in a hurry at the time.
You can probably argue there were scouts in issue 233.
Sure, they probably got most of the equipment, but they could leave some behind.
Also, they probably did that off panel or Tails made his own version of hover boards.

Actually, the FF's hoverboards were introduced in StH #164 (part 2 of the Sonic Riders tie-in)

I agree that Ian has been dropping a lot of crapstorms on readers in a disturbingly short amout of time (Sally roboticized, Naugus as King, etc.) which amount to much more than merely "tinkering". It'll be interesting to see how everything is resolved...or not.

1.) Maybe he didn't think of it before. Maybe he didn't realize how far he needed to go to get the edge.

2.) Robotocized citizen vs regular robot makes a difference? (I'm not sure if it does, I haven't read anything beyond the first hint that Eggman was doing stuff to Sally)

It's like the head writer makes stuff up on the fly about what Eggman can really do.

Maybe Sally's mental capacity can block the some of the commands Eggman gives.

So far, Mecha Sally obeyed all of Eggman's commands up to issue 236, but we shall see.

Think that's the idea. They generally didn't fight against normal roboticized mobians back in the day; the roboticizer doesn't automatically add guns and such.
