Your character doesn't have to wear a kimono neccessarily. There are various different traditional Japanese dress you should research.

Ok Viuely, I've researched a lot of traditional Japanese dress and to tell you the truth, a lot of them looked kind of wired and I can't relly see my char in any of those outfits, so if its ok I'll stick with black kimono pants and the black tanktop.

You really outta just post a comic made with already existing sprites. I mean, someone tried this years ago and got bout two comics in due to too many people throwing ridiculous requests for custom sprite at him.
Not to critisize, but it's been three pages and not one comic. Not to say you can't or won't, I';m just saying that this is a hell of a load for the sheer quirk of seeing custom FUSer sprites.

Well, if you really put much effort into your research you would've learned that there's no such thing as "kimono pants". You're probably thinking of hakama.

Just curious, have you researched another type of men's pants called Shinobishozoku or Shinobi shozoku depending on your search engine's tates. Don't be fooled, Ninjas were not the only people who would wear these, actually according to some sources I read its become a modern myth that they ever really wore them at all. They can come in many different colors, not just black. I'll see what other traditional clothing types I can dig up. You typically don't hear about this one by name because when you type in something like "traditional Japanese attire" or something you normally wind up seeing nothing but kimonos.
Also, have you heard of traditonal male tops called Haori or something called a happi coat/vest?

I did take a look at the Shinobishozoku and they look ok but i'll stick with the black hakama and the black tanktop, but I really liked the Haori you mentioned and if its ok can he have a black one that reaches his ankles and with the sleves tore off?

Whew! A lot of time's passed since the last post so I decided I should make an update in case you are all wondering "when the hell is she gonna post more stuff".
As my misfortune would have it, two of our computers (this includes the one with the scanner) broke at the same time and we had to get them repaired. They just got back the other day but the problem is, we have to reinstall EVERYTHING back into it including the art software I used to do the pictures. The second problem is that the software is so old that we lost the serial key for them and we couldn't actually redownload it. And on TOP of that we forgot the WEP for the comcast thing (which we will have to reinstall too -__-; and comcast's service is incredibly...well, shabby around here. They take forever to come and fix things).
Its a big mess so please try to bear with me, I'm really sorry! And thanks to everyone who pitched in to help me on IRC with this mess yesterday!

Okay its time for an update as I'm closing in on finishing a deal of the designs. I couldn't get photoshop to work like I hoped so this has been taking some time as I compete with my sisters for the computer. I also wanna address Red Sonic's question as to why I'm not just diving into making the comic despite the time that's passed. And here's the answer. Because most of these characters are going to make appearences on the first arc. I don't want to make a really crappy character design because I'm rushing and regret it later. Most of the characters can take me up to 12 times (not usually but occasionally) before I'm comfortable with their final designs. Joan's and Ana's are fine examples of this. Btw, sorry I didn't catch your question earlier red, I sorta missed it

A couple things though. I wasn't sure what the vest inside that blouse was colored (I'm not sure you gave it a color) so I assumed it was navy blue. Also, I wasn't sure if her hair was short or if it was a long ponytail (or was that thing in the back part of the scarf?). Lastly, she's wearing glasses not pince nez and there's a reason for it. Your character will be going through a design change mid story, so anything you like or want changed can happen then, as this is not going to be her final design throughout the story.

You're right about the vest; I forgot to give that one a color, and I didn't think that was a huge deal as long as the vest was there. And yes, Ana had short hair in that pic, and her scarf tended to stick out in odd places.
I wasn't quite expecting a design like that, but it does make me interested in what you've got in store for the plot line... as well as how the characters are going to be rendered in sprite form. Good luck!

LOL, I'm blonde.
Very interesting take on the character, Viuely. It's like Vengeance meets Case Closed. I particularly love the pince nez for some reason. Like Ana, I'm keen to see how this story's going to play out, particularly the costume changes. Can't wait to see the comic in action!

That was actually intentional (especially with the bangs, but not as much so with the outfit, such as the pants). But his hair color is actually supposed to be a bright red....I think the highlights make it really look too blonde. I'm sorry!
I've been playing around with a lot of coloring styles since I'm new to the whole draw and color thing and I haven't found my niche yet. Kinda another reason I wanna finish everyone's drawings first so I can see which one suits me best, or if I can invent a style. Preferably, I really want to find one that merges the manga coloring style with the American coloring styles so that I can make characters with exaggerated features that works a little with both, and not just one or the other.
