@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

So, the Freedom Fighters are actually going to fight Mecha Sally now?

Why am I not surprised?

Is it just me or did someone put a rejected Sonic X cover on the new Universe issue by mistake, because it just screams painful humor degrading this once potentially dramatically epic franchise down the toilet. I mean really? Those two Scratch and Grounder rejects from Sonic Colors? Were they or those two robots from Sonic x unavailable?

Way to kill the SATAm spirt with unnecessary game characters pointlessly shoved in; while Archie/Satam ones get more and more shoved to oblitaration. Why dosen't Ian just follow Dan Didio and remake the universe to your making as you see fit: to see your fetishtic love of destroying continuity and the comics culture for your sick plesure!

I suppose the question now is: how long are they going to drag out the Mecha Sally storyline. Probably till Sonic #250.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm actually really excited about these issues.

Ian Flynn may not be a great writer, but his writing is better than the recent games' stories. At least he's trying to make the series both epic and fun to read at the same time. If it weren't for Sega's demands and deadlines, Ian's stories would probably be better than what is currently being published now.

Oh! And one more thing... Please don't turn this forum topic into another "Ian Flynn sucks" subject, okay? There's plenty of other forums that you can post your opinions on, you know. No sense in beating a dead horse.

I'm not saying Ian sucks. But I really believe that this Best of Sonic is a waste of money, it's just the same collections released again...

Actually, I was referring to most other forum posts. They all start off as a sneak preview to the next upcoming issues, but suddenly turn into another repetitive subject about Ian Flynn's writing that goes on for several or dozens of pages.

It gets really tiresome.

If Sally wasn't roboticized, I admit I would be very intrigued about this latest arc of Ian's.

But, having her suffer this fate just completely killed it for me.

There were so many better choices if Ian wanted to have one of the Freedom Fighters end up as Eggman's robot slave.

I don't know, I'm kind of interested in seeing what happens in this arc. It'll give me something to think about during school hours. xD Well, once I'm back in for another semester.
It should be noted that Sally is the only non-game character on "Best of Sonic's" cover. I thought that was sort of interesting. At least they are still somewhat acknowledging the "Strictly Comic" characters.
And as for Ian...I think that he deserves some sort of nod or something for still continuing to write despite all of the criticism he's receiving. I respect him for that.

*coughs* Given the writing on the recent games, that really isn't saying much...

I second that.

The Best of seems more like the Sonic Super Special Magazine, but I am wondering what's the point. Everything else is aces though. Love it, love everything about it.

I can't respect him, but I will give him credit for taking all this bashing and not letting it get to him.

Then again, since his material is being published to the entire Sonic fandom, he doesn't have any reason to quit.

His vision, whatever it may be... is being read by the majority of SegaSonic fans.

Who'd want to give that up?

Just to point out, someone on the Sega forums, said that Sal's mecha color scheme is different on SU #38. But perhaps that was a miscoloring on Tracy's part (maybe), it's happens!

Tracy didn't draw or color that cover, so I wouldn't put too much blame on him.

I get the feeling Ian's going to make Sally some super souped up Mecha Sonic styled of robot villain just for kicks.

If this was his plan for Sally from the get go, wouldn't it have been simpler to just give these abilities to Metal Sonic or Silver Sonic III and let them wreak havoc? :tsktsk:

So Mecha Sally should just stand around and do nothing? Since she's roboticized, Eggman might as well put her into use.

Actually, I like this roboticizer better than the old one. Not only does it transform its victims into mindless robots, but also grants them super powers and abilities.

I never said he shouldn't put her to use.

But to have her perform actions another robot could do, and probably even better makes no sense.

At least let utilize Sally's best strengths as a FF if she HAS TO BE a mindless robot of Eggman's.

The irony is though, this version of the roboticizer sounds an awful lot like the super roboticizer I had Snively invent in Episode 2 of Sonic Satam X last year.

You know, now that I think about it, maybe calling it a Mechanizer would have been a better name.

I think I just gave myself a new story idea. :icon_e_wink:

She's not really a mindless robot, she talks and everything. Giving her weapons does not make Metal Sonic redundant any more than Orbinaut made Metal Sonic redundant. We have no idea what Metal Sally's capable of, seeing as we've had about A SINGLE PANEL OF HER DOING ANYTHING. Also, the roboticizer Robotnik Prime made during Mecha Madness did the same thing to Sonic (heck, even Bunnie's roboticizer turned Knuckles into a weaponized threat.)
