Sure do. Makes finding work much easier. She's also pitching a few scripts around town for me. ( Doesn't mean a studio will BUY them. )Do you happen to have an agent that represents you for work that you may be interested in down the road?

Curious though, I noticed alot of Matt Sulivan's on IMDB there. This is the page thats yours right, that you alter for your future employers and the like to get you work? If that is the right way to say it.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2132114/ (Sooo many out there heh)

Can't. Don't have an IMDB account yet.
That confuses me, is that not your account? Surely if thats your work up there you should have access to your own stuff. After all that is your stuff up there, and they would not have a forum area if you could not respond to it. That just doesn't make sense there.

Matt Sullivan here. I was browsing the boards and was surprised to see people were still talking about me. I'd offer to answer any questions you guys have, but I'm expecting the admins here might delete my post or lock the thread and ban me.
I hope they don't. I'd be willing to explain exactly what the circumstances behind the whole Freedom Fighters fiasco.
Well I'm only exercising your offer to answer questions, me being a member of this site that includes me as well. So I indulged myself, I knew you would not mind since you offered.
And if memory serves I believe what you said above about IMDB doing this automatic logging of what jobs they participated in only is extended to Actors or Actresses. Not behind the scenes staff, they have to make an account.

I dunno. A while ago. I didn't really care.Oh? And when did you find out you had an IMDB page?
Yahoo?Ahhh IMDB asks for money, so what sites do you use then.
Yes. As someone who works in Hollywood I have access to golden websites of ambrosia and unicorn farts. ^-^Probably something more superior I'll betcha?

You say the IMDB page is yours but yet you didn't have to make an account for all that stuff to be there. You also mention that its other peoples jobs (in your case you are a artist of some sort) to find out who you are, where you worked, how long, what your contact info is, who your agent is, what your resume is. Well that takes time, and money to do that. Also to prove that an artist has done that work some kind of verification is done to make sure the stuff on there is accurate. So the logical conclusion is someone had to make an account for Matt Sullivan, it just makes sense. I find it hard to believe a profit site built to make money just does this for free and does this all without any intervention by the artist themselves.
But lets skip the imdb stuff, lets go on to the logic.
Now everyone knows as of 2008 we have fallen under hard economic struggle, and finding jobs that are not technology, medical or education is very hard today. So that means in the artist field its pretty competitive. More so, in the California area, which has three major cities in the top 10 worst unemployment rates. San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles are really bad spots to find jobs. Why is this relevant? Well most artists have facebooks, their own custom art page to show off their work, resume, contact information, their online portfolio for would be employers to see, they would be on social profile networking pages to get their face out there in the business world so that they may get hired privately. Cause lets face it any work is good work today in this crappy economy. The way to go today is social networking. Going by what you said earlier, you said you want attention because you want to be remembered. Well if that's true, would you not be more open about your creations to these things rather than mysterious?
My question is, why is it you don't have these necessary things out there for people to see, I find that baffling and illogical in this tough economic time?

Do you think Brad Pitt made his own IMDB article when that site first came online? I assure you, he did not.You say the IMDB page is yours but yet you didn't have to make an account for all that stuff to be there
That's my agent's job. To find me work and to contact studios for pitches/etc.You also mention that its other peoples jobs (in your case you are a artist of some sort) to find out who you are, where you worked, how long, what your contact info is, who your agent is, what your resume is
I have a facebook page. But I hate Facebook. I barely use it. And I have an agent, so I don't eed facebook OR a webpage to get work. I APPLY to the studios. I'm a member of the local 839 IATSE Animation Union ( look it up ) They ALSO can help you find work. I also pay dues to this union, which provides my health insurance.Well most artists have facebooks
For some people. I'm doing fine, because i went to college and earned a degree that allows me to make more money.Cause lets face it any work is good work today in this crappy economy.
Again, for some. I get my work on my talent. The way to go today is social networking.
Because I left animation for five years. I grew tired of the industry. I came back to it in 2008, and have been steadily emplyed at the same job at FOX for the last three years. In order to get that job, I did a test ( yes, you have to do a test ) I did a damn good job on it, and got the job. The same way I got my job at other studios. By applying with a portfolio and proving to them I was capable of doing what the job requires. It's really not all that complicated. If you can draw, and you have a fairly good grasp of the animation process, you can get a job. You don't have to be in some "club" to get animation work. You just have to apply like any other job.My question is, why is it you don't have these necessary things out there for people to see, I find that baffling and illogical in this tough economic time?

You are not an actor, there is a big difference between an behind the scenes artist, and an actor. So we can not treat those the same. However people have to start somewhere, so like I said someone had to do it and got paid. I would think later on when they have the money and agent would do all this. But in your case you aren't a famous actor, you are a behind the scenes artist which you would have to work harder for that well know reputation.

Great then it must be there yes for folks to see, yes?
Again, for some. I get my work on my talent.
Hmm very high confidence level, I'll give you that.

I never said it was complicated, I said it was difficult in the respect art jobs are tough to find. I would think these extra little things however frivolous to you, would be a helper if anything. Can't hurt your chances, and lets not forget facebook and these other business network sites are pretty much free for the most part. No special club card necessary.
However it is weird that these sites that have your credentials only go up to 2010, Im amazed that they are so behind that not include anything from 2011. Usually in their FAQ they claim any changes are made usually within 2 months. I would be furious if I were you it would make me look as if I wasn't working.

Animators are actors with pencils. We just get to work in movies and TV without being followed around by paparazzi. We're slobs no one gives a shit about. It's wonderfulYou are not an actor, there is a big difference between an behind the scenes artist, and an actor.
Yep. Right here.Great then it must be there yes for folks to see, yes?

because we work a year AHEAD of our air dates. That's why. 2011 ( season 3 ) hasn't been fully broadcast yet.

Well we both have our own opinions, So I think it best on that we agree is disagree.
Yep. Right here.

Ahh thank you, thats very helpful. I appreciate it.
Man, it's clear you guys are going to great lengths ( STILL ) to discredit or dig dirt on me. You go right ahead.
Well I have to remind you, you did put yourself here. I didn't put you here, you put you here in the forum. I most certainly didn't force you to join, that would be silly.
If memory serves you did say you would answer any questions, I see nothing wrong with asking questions. So far this has been a fairly mature conversation, i see nothing wrong with that. So as far as I am concerned that gives me an invitation to ask. I believe thats why you said you came back, unless I was mistaken.
As for the other stuff in the past, what can I say man. You make a hard claim to swallow and I have a tiny throat heh. I'll be honest with ya, Im a guy who has to see it, touch it, to believe. Im just that way, can't help it. I can't speak for anyone else as that would be wrong of me. But on the flip side, I did help ya out coming back. So thats gotta say something about me im not a bitter man.

Again, I never CLAIMED anything, I never once said I was GOING to make the show, or that it WOULD be made. I just said I was working on a pitch. I never ONCE promised ANYTHING. THAT is why I'm back. because peoplecome here and talk about me as if I made these grand claims. No. I was simply pressured into revealing my PLANS ( plans, not claims ) and it was a mistake. You'd all been through the Rich Kuta debacle, and it was understandable you'd be upset. The Sonic fandom isn't exactly full of public WINNERS ( See what's his face....SPAX3 for example ) So I get it. I get the suspicion, the resentment...I understand why it happened. I'm just trying to defend myself from the accusations that had popped up on this site. That's really it. I'm not here to say I'm better than any of you. I'm just confident in my abilities. Some people can't take such simple answers. They want more, and really, I've none to give other than what I've told you. I don't like facebook, OR the internet as a tool to showcase art, I'm curmudgeony and defensive, fat and out of shape, silly and strange, in other words, I don't fit the Hollywood profile. But there's more people like ME that work here than A-list movie stars. And as for Hollywood itself, well, it's a damn DUMP. I wouldn't live or work here, but I HAVE to.You make a hard claim to swallow

Part of me feels bad for you since you got burned in that 2008 mess, and I dont think people find you 100% responsible. In my opinion (and I believe I mentioned this I think at SMS) That 50% of that fire went to Rocky. Rocky had no business doing what he did, He just wanted traffic for the site. And he convinced you to do it. There is an old saying my dad used to say: It takes two to tango. Unfortunately, you did agree to rockys proposal and for months you benefited from alot of attention. Im sure its safe to say Rocky didnt put a gun to you and say: You'll do this or die. No you had to agree to it. Thats the only logical answer there. You have to admit though back then you can talk the talk very well, maybe too well. That ended up hurting ya. I would say learn from it, be careful what you attach your name to , cause once you do it its a done deal.
Now later on in 09 and 10, the skirmishes there didnt help either. Maybe you were going through a bad time. Im not really too sure personally what you went through, not that I am asking you to tell me. Do so at your own discretion.
