When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Somebody just got a hold of issue 231 and has uploaded it to YouTube for us.

Here it is:

[EDIT - Just go to YouTube and search "Sonic 231, by date" and you'll probably find it very easily.]

A while back, I was hearing all this fuss about the Genesis arc as well as the fate of Sally, how it was one of the worst ideas to come from the comic yet. In all honesty, I've never been this interested with the comic in years. It will take a few years, but I can't wait to have this current story arc in novel form.

By the by, nice avatar, Ann. Did you do it yourself or get it from another site? I'm curious because I'd like to see some more animated goodness.

231 was just so sad to look at.

First Sally, now Bunnie? :tsktsk:

Sheesh, can Archie lighten up on the Satam characters at all for a change?

Yeah, I'll have to agree on this being a crazy interesting arc. X3 I'm glad I picked it back up a few months back.

And yeah! I animated it myself in Flash 8- I got bored the other day and decided I needed to practice my animation again. ^^

It's for sure setting up some very interesting next steps in the series. And I loved the inclusion of the tails doll!

I was absolutely delighted at the sight of the Tails Doll.
The issue was pretty good, but I am pretty fed up with all the attention on the SegaSonic characters who are obviously not as interesting.

Really? It seems like they've finally found a good role in the story; with Cream having to rescue Bunnie from the falling crystal shards and Big trying to protect Vanilla from Titan Metal Sonic and later retrieving Dr. Quack. It's about time they made themselves useful.

And at long last! Tails Doll make his debut! I wonder what happens next.

The thing about the SegaSonic characters to me is that they don't feel natural in the story. It's like the writers have to work harder to make those characters come together with the others. Yes, they are becoming sort of useful now, but I feel that if they wanted those characters in a comic then they should have stuck with the Sonic X Comic.

Well unfortunately Sonic and Robotnik are the key figures in a Sonic Comic. Also when making a story about characters that are not your own, the owner of those characters get to make demands. Such as free advertisement, like including more game characters....

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and several other characters are SegaSonic characters. Does that make them unneeded?

I think he was referring to SegaSonic characters like Amy, Cream, Blaze and Silver.

I mean, their SegaSonic counterparts just don't work in a Satam styled storyline.

Their character and personalities need to be adjusted in order to fit the overall universe, like Sonic and Tails was.

Yes, I was talking more along the lines of Silver, Blaze, and that group. Sonic, Tails, and Kuckles have been the whole franchise since '93.
Aside from those three, the only SegaSonic character I like that's "major" in the games now is Shadow. And even though I like him, I don't really feel as though he's necessary to the comics.

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles come from a time when the world of the Sonic games was still "open to interpretation". Wanted to imagine a Mobius where Robotnik is a cruel despot? Go ahead, there's nothing in the games telling you that isn't the case. Want to be like me and imagine Knuckles with an Australian accent? Why not, there are no voiceovers.

Everything changed once Sonic Adventure came down the pike, though. The comics were able to handle it decently for awhile, but things hit overload levels once we got around Sonic Heroes, I'd venture to guess.

I think you hit the nail on the head pretty much about Sonic.

After Sonic Heroes, things just took a downward spiral for the blue blur.
