@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Let's start with the Christmas Special "Sonic Christmas Blast" which to me was combination of both SatAM and AOSTH, and was pretty good in my opinion, the only thing was that they had Sally in it, but it was her SatAM design, with her old color scheme of pink fur, but had her red hair, the only thing is she didn't speak, and the first scene she was in, look she was about to, wonder if they cut something out there?

Anyway I thought it was good.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SatAM was good, the best out of the bunch, great animation and storytelling, I mean what more could be said about SatAM. I think the only thing they missed out on was making a Movie, but then again when you look at the final 4 episodes and put them together with only the Doomsday Project in the title screen after the intro, then you'll see what mean.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The OVA was okay. It had some funny moments and defeneritly was targeted towards an older age group. But overall it was okay, so best anime/cartoon adaptation of the games at the time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AOSTH was to me targeted towards a pre-school like age group, with it's slapstick and off the wall WTF moment's, but it was all right, that's all I have to say.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNDERGROUND to me, is the second best AMERICAN Cartoon of Sonic there is, it combines a lot of SatAM elements and some AOSTH elements, and besides the songs, which some have annoying, I have to say it was good, expect it TOO ending on a cliffhanger after 40 eps.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SONIC X to me was the SECOND best Sonic Cartoon/Anime OVERALL out of the bunch. To me it was the SatAM of/for a NEW Generation of Fans, for it not only had original content made exculisivey for the show's 1st and 3rd seasons, while the 2nd was game adaptation only. Overall it was very good, wither you watch the 4kids edited and dubbed version or original japanese/french uncut versions, you have to admit that it was indeed the SatAM of a new Generation.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Night of the Werehog, let's just, pretty nice short, gives you idea of what kind of An animation will be used IF a new cartoon series or even movie was to be made in the near future.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So to me, the top 3 no doubt are :

1. SatAM

2. Sonic X

3. Sonic Underground

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And those are my thoughts on all the Sonic Cartoons/Anime to date as well as my Top 3 Sonic Cartoons/Anime

You agree?

I honestly would have liked Sonic Underground more if they had cut out the horrible singing entirely. But story-wise it was pretty good- I squee'd like a starving little fangirl when I heard it was first coming out waaaaaay back when I was in Jr. High. xD It was no SatAM, but it wasn't bad.

I honestly haven't been able to catch Sonic X myself- or much of it anyway. I've seen enough to know that Chris is annoying, and Knuckles is Dan Motha-flippin Green. (omgwin) I'll have to try and watch it sometime.

And I'm with you all the way on SatAM of course. xD That cartoon defined my childhood and made me decide I wanted to be an animator when I grew up. :D

I didn't really like Underground but thats (probably because i lm a SatAM fan) the OVA was good, i think its funny too. Aosth is to childish for me but just like bwrosas i love the WTF moments.
as for Sonic X. I think the original Japanese version was excellent but the american dub, i think every thing that can be said about it has been said

I would have to say my top three would be:
1) The OVA
2) SatAM
3) Sonic X (Japanese Version)

Full List:
1)I like the OVA the best because it was based on the games the most. I also like the added characters.

2)I like SatAM for the same reasons.

3)I like the Japanese Sonic X More than I like AoSTH, however I like the English one less than AoSTH so I had to specify. The English one just had bad translations. I blame 4Kids.

4)AoSTH was pretty good growing up, but as I got older the art, story, and jokes seemed to get worse...

5)English Sonic X is pretty good don't get me wrong, but 4kids could have done better.

Not included:
Night of the Werehog: Because in my opinion it is too short to judge fairly with the rest.
Sonic Underground: Didn't like the singing, Sonia's voice, Knuckles attack, or the villains.

Here my personal rating of the Sonic shows
1. SatAm - Like the story and charaters, but I have to admit it's abit overrated in my opinion.
2. Sonic OVA - Pretty good anime and some elements to the games.
3. Night of the Werehog - This one is a good CGI short tie-in for Sonic Unleashed.
4. Sonic X - Though I watched about 6 episodes, this one alright both dub and sub. While 4kids did edit the heck out of it, this one was the most faithful anime to its original counterpart storywise. I know it's hard to believe that since 4kids edit anime for "localization".(Sonicretro.org)
5. AoStH - Too kiddy and weird to me, but it is for kids and it's not automatically the worst I've ever seen.
6. Sonic Underground - Underwheming and abit preachy at times, but like AoStH it's not the worst.

My top 3

1, Sonic Satam

Not perfect, but it had the best story and cast of characters of any Sonic show.

2. Sonic X - Japanese Version

After watching the Japanese version, it made me wonder why I even bothered with the 4Kids dub to begin with.

I knew the 4Kids dub was bad, but seeing the original made me realize just how atrocious and disgusting they dubbed it for the American audience.

It's almost night and day comparing the two.

3. AOSTH

Very off the wall and very corny, but there's something about it I just can't help but love.

Satam is my favorite Sonic cartoon. I like the idea of Sonic as a freedom fighter instead of an adventurer who travels the world like he does in the game canon. I also love the freedom fighter characters, Sally, Bunnie, Rotor, and Antoine more then I like most of the game characters.
The show also has my favorite version of Dr. Robotnik. Plus I love Snively.

I found AOSTH to be boring. I couldn't get past the second episode. I didn't find this show to be funny either.

Sonic X is ok, but their are things about the show that bug me like Chris. I also don't like the whole alien thing where Sonic and the others come from a different world and get sent to Earth by Chaos Control. This also makes their version of "Sonic Adventure 2" confusing since Eggman's grandfather is from earth yet Eggman was in Sonic's world.

Sonic X had some good ideas, but they never went anywhere. Plus I hate how the character's were written.
Sonic became laid-back and lazy.
Tails was boring.
Knuckles became really stupid.
Amy became a craze insane fangirl, who everyone was afraid of making mad.
Dr. Eggman became a joke. It was hard to take him serious as a villain.

I haven't seen the OVA yet though I do plan on watching it at some point.

And I haven't seen Sonic Underground and I don't think that I want to.

And I third that. When underground came out I caught a few episodes... But never watched them full through. As soon as I heard that singing I turned it off. Without that it could have been okay. No SatAM mind you. I liked SatAM mostly because of the stories and other characters. Could have cared less if Sonic was in it or not. I still stick with my thoughts on Sonic being a poorly designed character. They improved a bit on him in S2 but still he wasnt great.

I've watched around six episodes of Underground (and I plan keep watching it) and it didn't seem so bad to me, not even the songs.
But once I heard them in English, I felt sick. Same with Jaleel White's performance for Sonia.

I have a bit of an appreciation for AOSTH. I grew up watching it and now I have younger siblings that will watch it (Mario shall not enter the baby's sight. Unfortunately, the big purple monstrosity already has). I actually enjoy the lightheartedness; it's nice after you sit through three exams and don't want to think.

I love SatAm. I enjoy that several of the characters are complex. Plus, I love that Robotnik's just horribly evil.

I don't really know all that much about Underground. I've watched a few episodes. Each episode seemed to have some sort of theme, which reminded me really vaguely of AOSTH's Sonic Says. Robotnik was okay; he just wasn't as hardcore evil as in SatAm it seems. Oh, and the queen taking off all the time irritated me.

Sonic X....Honestly, the only reason I tried it was because it had "Sonic" in the title. I haven't seen the sub, but Americanized version is annoying. Eggman's a joke, a huge joke. I'd be happy if Chris simply just disappeared. I actually kind of like how Amy was protrayed; I see her as an insane fangirl.

I haven't seen OVA at all so I can't really say I have an opinion.

So:
1. SatAm
2. AOSTH
3. Underground
4. Sonic X (American)
Senor Pepper lives on!

Every show has it's positives, as well as it's negatives. With the Sonic shows, there's no exception.

1. SatAM is, in my opinion, the best adaption of the Sonic series. The characters are memorable, the premise was cool, the atmosphere was dark, the sense of conflict was strong throughout the series, and the villain was absolutely terrifying. The animation and writing was also good (despite a few hiccups and plotholes).

The major problems the show suffered from though was the lack of an introduction episode for the 1st season (the pilot episode doesn't count) and a major bummer of a cliffhanger ending towards the end.

2. Sonic Underground is my second favorite. While not as good as SatAM, it still had it's points. The characters (despite being semi-flawed) are memorable and the atmosphere is dark (similar to SatAM). But the main reason why I loved the show was because it tried explaining Sonic's backstory (which was never fully explained in SatAM) and showed more of Mobius' society and culture. And also unlike SatAM (in a good way), it had an introduction episode. And out of all the Sonic-related shows, this came the closest to resembling SatAM.

The show's problems, however, are more prominent than SatAM. The songs and musical concepts sucked, some characters were either underused or lacking, and the premise (while cool at first) got tiresome and worn-out after a while. The show may have some problems, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Had it been a sequel/prequel/spin-off of SatAM, it might've worked a bit better.

3. The OVA Movie is a show that I wish would've continued. It featured characters and elements from the games and had an atmosphere similar to Sonic Heroes (which I loved). Not to mention the humor was hilariously goofy and lighthearted. And out of all the shows, this probably had the best animation. If the series continued, it probably would've replaced Sonic X.

4. AoStH is a show I don't care much about. The setting is beyond weird (I'm alright with surreality in the Sonic series, but this was pushing the envelope), most of the characters are annoying as hell, the slapstick gags aren't funny (a character tripping over himself like an idiot isn't that funny), and the animation can get incredibly annoying after a while. Little kids might enjoy it, but it's definitely not a show that older audiences would care to watch.

But I will give the show some credit, though. It was the first show to have Jaleel White do the voice of Sonic, and its portrayal of Robotnik was the only thing I found hilarious in the entire series. Seriously, this is what Dr. Eggman should be like.

5. Sonic X is, without a doubt, the worst show to feature Sonic. The whole show can be described as "bland". Nothing in this show was interesting and/or funny. The main characters were bland and/or underdeveloped, hardly anything happened in each episode, the atmosphere was boring, and it ripped-off nearly every anime ever created. Not only that, but Chris Thorndyke is the biggest Gary Sue ever conceived. And don't get me started on the 4kids dub.

I will give the show credit for having some cool characters (Cosmo, Rouge, Shadow, Topaz, and the Chaotix crew), some decent action scenes, and a fun soundtrack. But as a whole, I still hate it.

I hate to admit it, but Sonic X was the first Sonic show I ever saw. Back then, I thought it was the best show ever. But after watching both SatAM and SU, I realized just how bad the show was.

My lineup of top 3 sonic shows:
1.AoStH: solely for the Robotnik. ALL HAIL AOSTH ROBOTNIK. AND HIS PINGAS!
Another reason: the YTPs of this series nearly kill me with laughter.
2: SatAM: good lord, this series was great. It had a perfect storyline, a Grim robotnik, and a french stereotype!
3: Sonic X: solely to make fun of it's idiocy. It sucks entirely.

No surprise there.

I'm surprised TMS Anime, the company that made the Japanese version of the show didn't sue them for completely butchering their series in the US.

The OVA Sonic "Movie" was, simply, batshit crazy. No coherency and infused with so many bad anime tropes that even *I* didn't like it...and you'd be hard pressed to find a more die hard Sonic fan than me

I agree with you but in my opinion Satam is #1 in the countdown even though its unfinished.Aosth is childish and looney toony but Robotnick and henchmen were cool.Satam is dark, creepy like it's supposed to,great cast of characters, and better storyline.Sonic Underground too is dark but I'm afraid that the storylines haven't met their goal in every episode. The mother of the three hedgehogs is always missing.Sonic isn't fit to be prince

OVA is great and so Sonic game related cause you get to see Metal Sonic. But there is also content that the children shouldn't see like Sonic flipping the ferb at Robotnicks robot.Or seeing robotnicks wife bearing children in a daydream.I'm like what the heck! this isn't a kids cartoon or anime movie!! turn it off!!! :o

Next is Sonic X.The show is a great adaptation of the sonic games on the Sega Dream Cast but the show is rather annoying than enjoyable to watch for hours.I love Anime Sonic though speeding through the city and tech buildings but Chris and friends slow him down sometimes.Second Season called the Choas Factor or Perfect Chaos is very Sonic game related.Take note that everything isn't what it exactly happpend in the games, trust me.The third season is when Sonic has to fight the Metarex.

Sonic Underground in my opinion is a huge mistake cause it failed to revive Satam.Sonic is born to be prince with two siblings.Unfortunately, they were separated from their mother as newborns and never seen face to face again.Knuckles was in the show but not Tails the fox. Also,no previous Satam Freedom fighters or power rings that probably would've saved the show.Overall, this show is terrible and I've wasted my time watching it cause it never followed completely through it's own plot(s) :hmmph: The poor hedgehogs had to find their mother over and over again in every episode.

Satam is the best Sonic Cartoon cause the atmosphere is better.I don't like Sonic around humans or aliens. So here are my top three in the countdown.

1.Satam
2.Aosth
3.Sonic X
4.Sonic Underground

My top is:

Sonic OVA: Im not sure why, but I love it, I saw it 3 times in 5 months, and still can see it again. I like the "graphic style" of the movie, the jokes, the apparition of Metal Sonic...

Sonic AoStH: My childhood is my childhood, and thats why this show is special for me, I saw again 3 months ago, and still laugh with 19 years.

Sonic Satam: The best story, characters, is more "evil", just awesome. If not were for my chilhood with aosth, this is the best show.

Sonic X: For me Sonic X is just crap, I dont remember good, but if was 64 chapter, for me only 15 or 20 are ok. The story of SA 1, SA2 and the end, because the end with cosmo and tails is just for me awesome, but all the crap about metarex and bla bla...

Sonic Underground: I saw some chapters, and for me is like we say in spain "Infumable" (unsmokable) xD. Just the idea of hedgehogs singing and atacking with instruments lasers, and sorry if I offense someone, but that crap song in every chapter. For me is just unwatchable.

...WHAT?! An X-Men parody of Sonic Underground?! That...that sounds sucky...

Ok, Guess I'll list MY favorites...not that anyone will really care...

1. SatAM. Saw it for the first time as a kid...one episode, that is: Sonic and Sally. This episode was so cool as a kid! I had learned about Sally from the two chapter books I had, and an evil duplicate was just...awesome. As an adult I've now seen every episode, and I still think it's awesome!

2. Sonic OVA. Three reasons. Metal Sonic, Adult humor, and Knuckles Hat.

3. Sonic X. I like this series for two reasons. One, it follows the games with such elements as Chaos emeralds and storylines...butchered story lines, but still...also, the awesome Sonic F series of parodies. I love Sonic F! Oh, and I'll take subbed Sonic X over Dubbed ANY day!

4. Sonic Underground. I do not like this series, and haven't seen much of it. I do appreciate including SOME elements of SatAM...and the introduction of Knuckles onto t.v., but that's the only really good things I can say about it.

5. AOSTH. I do not like this show. At all. The only thing funny about it is the occasional YTP and the Sonic Sez.

6. Night of the Were-hog. Never saw it...hated the were-hog from the game. (And by the way, the term "were-hog" doesn't make sense!)
If you can read this you don't need glasses.
