Without giving away the spoiler, I just wonder if Naugus's crystal effect had anything to do with it. If so, we may have the beginning of a solution to another problem... Know what I mean?

I was somewhat right, but still needs some explanation. Even Naugus was confused as to how it happened.

SU 35 must have taken place after #232, because as said there is one part that will have you saying "when the heck did this happen?"
I know what U R talking about. I've said it once, and I'll say it again..."It could provide a great opportunity for character development---or great potential to **** up!"
...
And there had better be a VERY good explanation covering how Naugus' magic can even..uh, do -that-! Something so monumental should not be swept under the rug (like so many other things in that book)!
*eyes Ian suspiciously & wonders if he was ever a member of the "Bunnie Brigade"*

Another damn good sign that things are looking up: The inclusion of Deviant Art artists Evan Stanley in Issue 131. I've been reading Evan's epic Sonic fan comic "Ghosts of the Future" for years now. Not only has he developed into a top notch Sonic artist, but he's also got a knack for drawing out great tension and original stories while he's at it. In fact, in the latest pages of GotF, he introduced Nicole...as a VILLAIN! If that's not interesting, i don't know what is.
Look, we all know Sally's Robotization is a stunt, designed to pull the heartstrings of us old fans.
Well....DAMMIT IT WORKED!

***Spoilers***Care to spoil it for the world?
Nah, I don't think I should for now, especially since it's barely even out yet.
Let's just say... something from the opening issues regarding one of the main characters is no more.
And worse yet, no explanation for how it happened.
It's magic(or magick) it doesn't need an explanation. I'm sorry, I don't know how to cover it.
It's 231, just the let know.It IS kind of nice that they balance out what happened to Sally with a bit of good news like THIS. I mean, even though they used what Dan Drazen likes to refer to in the Archie-verse as "Mumbo-jumbo", its at least satisfying to see it HAPPEN. I mean, this is a moment we the Sonic faithful have been waiting for a loooooong time and MoKat is right, this has the potential to be very very awesome, or a tremendous F-up. Let's hope--and I see signs that the comic is doing just this--that the comic is heading down a better direction than it has ever been than at any point in its existence.

GOOD POINTS
FORCING THE TEAM TO ADAPT
Sally was the core of the Freedom Fighters. Removing her from the scene shows just how much the team needed her. We've seen the team fall apart, yes....but they've had to make changes, adapt, and come back strong. Which is GOOD! It shows that, yes, they lost Sally, but they're still not willing to give up the fight. So her loss makes for good character development with the others. Always a good thing. Especially when it comes to the next point.
SALLY IS BATMAN
When she was the leader, she had to know everyone's strengths and weaknesses. It allowed her to plan her tactics around their strongest members. Now, with her on the Eggman team, she's using their weaknesses against them. Hitting them where it hurts. If Sonic and the others can't overcome their weakness, they'll lose. This also makes Mecha-Sally more of a challenge, since she's not only their former friend, but someone who knows them better than themselves.
SERIOUS BUSINESS
The FF now have to fight their friend. Someone who they still hope to deroboticize back to normal. This means the usual 'dash and trash' tactics on other robots won't work here. Sally's sacrifice has added more drama to the scene. Everything's not so easy anymore. And that makes for an interesting read. But it's not all roses here. Let's get into the things I don't like.
BAD POINTS
SPARE PARTS BODY
I cannot tell you how much of her design I really don't like. Her head looks like it was screwed onto a spare Metal Sonic body. I know, I know, it makes her look more Sega-style...but she doesn't look roboticized. She looks like she was built. Manufactured. It makes her look more sinister, sure, but it really doesn't look like a Robian. Her design has grown on me a bit, but it still looks a little forced.
PERSONALITY OF A BRICK
Now I KNOW someone is going to bitch at me about this, but I feel she needs a bit of personality. Which, lately, she seems to be getting. But I was hoping the modifications Eggman made would have included a darker Sally persona. Less "Hedgehog Priority One" and more "I'm going to paint an Eggman symbol with your blood, Sonic". I think she needs something to set her away from Metal Sonic and the other droids, and a sinister personality spike would be lovely. Not sure if Ian wants to go there though, considering...
THE ONLY VICTIM
Sally, thus far, has been the ONLY victim to robotization. No one else on panel has been roboticized. And that, to me, screams "cheap heartstring tug". Why can't we see other victims? Because the focus is the loss of Sally. I'm sorry, but there needs to be more victims shown other than just Sally. The legionization is a start, but if you want readers to worry and be REALLY concerned, someone else needs to get the robot treatment.
And those are my thoughts. I'm about 50/50 with Mecha-Sally. Her design has grown on me a bit, and it does look like she's getting more of a personality. But there's still a long way to go before I call her robotization a GOOD thing. For now, it's interesting. I'll want and see where Ian takes us. =)

It's not like other characters haven't been roboticized in the past.

^I agree with everything except the only victim part. Considering what Sally did to foil Robotnik's plans, it actually wouldn't have made sense if other characters had gotten zapped as well. I mean, they just weren't there for it. How would this even happen?
It's not like other characters haven't been roboticized in the past.
While that maybe true, just having Sally the only one suffering this fate to me would in a sense be saying roboticization was brought back just for her to get roboticized as a means of more needless shockvalue for the fans. And that to me is just contrived storytelling.
I'm all for this technology being brought back, but only if several other heroes get this fate as well in the later issues.
Otherwise, it would have been better if it was never brought back at all.

I'm not understanding how this is a bad thing.
